He's my favorite of the Lovecraft Circle, and his humor is one of the main reasons why. This story, in particular always makes me laugh out loud.

      straight from the wiki:
In his story At the Mountains of Madness, H. P. Lovecraft states that "[a] few daring mystics have hinted at a pre-Pleistocene origin for the fragmentary Pnakotic Manuscripts, and have suggested that the devotees of Tsathoggua were as alien to mankind as Tsathoggua itself".
Aside of At the Mountains of Madness, another story i'd recommend in that context is The Mound. You can find both stories in english here on YT. I considered uploading them on the channel, but it would be for the Nth time. Maybe i should. Easier for people to find it if its in one place.

When Ibin discovers that poking the huge monster blocking the road between two plates of its horny posterior mail
      - In The Butt -
to keep it going works, it was not only Morgie felt awe for Ibin.

Here is my version. I had foolishly no idea it had previously been recorded.

It strikes me as curious, the occasional encounter of thumbs down on such postings as a simple little sci-fi - fantasy story. I mean, one may not be wowed by a particular story, but, seriously, what's not to like so much that one must register a dislike? Not that I mind, whatever, but, it is a curious thing.

Not to say the time and energy of reading the story.

It seems some people get pleasure out of being snarky. I try to ignore them and be above it all, but I get annoyed by it.

I struggle with fantasy myself. I realize it’s good but I don’t have the appreciation for it. I’m more for the hardware sci-fi stories. Kinda like Jazz music. I wish I had an appreciation for it. C’est la vie!

Heh, I'm kinda like you in that I don't particularly appreciate Jazz, but I LOVE me some Jazz-Fusion!

LOL! When Ibin discovers that poking the huge monster blocking the road between two plates of its horny posterior mail
    - In The Butt -
to keep it going works, it was not only Morgie felt awe for Ibin. They traveled on in this manner for several hours... Ibin poking the monster in the butt when necessary to keep their progress in motion. Clark Ashton Smith, you comic monster. I think it fortunate that their multipedular guide felt no need to relieve its bowels on the way, but, perhaps this fecal humor takes crudity too far. And so, I demure, and resort to the click on "play" to hear how this story digests and passes itself off, in the end.

"Collected Fantasies of Clark Ashton Smith" on Audible. That audio book is self-produced and these artists deserve to get paid for their work.

Clark Ashton Smith died in 1961 bro, and every single narrator who works on it will never find themselves without work

    • @Arkanoid1212
      @Arkanoid1212  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

depends... its the full story, books are often a collection of material and its not unusual to brandish the title of a story as the book's title
