    Getting a lot of simple, but good pointers for the characters and their motivations for my pilot! Thanks SS!

    I recently read that 18:19 "son of a bitch, he stole my line" was an ad lib from Robin Williams, and director Gus van Sant and Matt Damon let it in because is pure gold. It brings tears remembering how brilliant that man was.

    • @ScriptSleuth
      @ScriptSleuth  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes! And I love how he catches Matt Damon by surprise when he says his wife used to fart in her sleep.

    you did so well on this. it was one of the first films I saw myself in as a person not just different traits from a character but a living multidimensional character.

    Great video, once again! Some different tips that I've not heard before about GWH. If I could request one, I would ask for Stranger Things Season 1. For me, it's so well crafted. The later seasons don't even compare. Would be happy to help out/proof read.

    I also like that you never really see/meet any of Will's foster parents. Shawn and Prof. Larssen sort of assume the roles the only loving 'parents' Will's ever knows. They worry about him, fight over him, fight WITH him, and both are willing to endure sacrifice for Will's best interests...just like parents would.

    I've had an idea for a screen play since I was in the Air Force in the early to mid 80s. I have no experience and just can't find anyone to help me on it even though I've been told it's a really good story. I wrote the beginning sequences on my phone in my spare time, but sadly that phone wound up in Lake Erie. Any advice?

    • @ScriptSleuth
      @ScriptSleuth  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My advice is just go for it! Get some good screenwriting books to help you with story structure. Read screenplays to see how formatting is. And just write, make a mess, and you can always edit later!

      That's a great anime series. It's premise is:
      A high-school student discovers a supernatural notebook that grants its user the ability to kill.
      One of the remarkable things about that TV shows is its writing. Writer brilliantly combines supernatural elements with Hitchcock's techniques. The whole series consists of 37 episodes and each episode is nearly 22 minutes long. You will find each episode engaging.
