I have just tried this. With a little patience I now have a handlebar bridge and I am delighted with it. It provides space for instruments, is compatible with a Klickfix bracket, and doesn’t interfere with the fold. And it costs next to nothing to make. Thank you for sharing this and for the easy to follow film.
This video was fortuitous for me in that am just about to fit a Swytch electric conversion kit and could not figure out how to organise everything on my H type Brompton handlebars. Thanks for solving my problem.
Aaaawesome!!!! WoW. Thanks so much for taking the time, making the effort and Sharing. Oh! And it weighs and costs next to nothing. Out of the ball park! A game changing idea, and your video rocks. 🙏🏼🐾🎶
I did think the same thing a while ago, but opted for metal instead - I used to carry far too much stuff… It’s at the end of this video: m.th-cam.com/video/M6yD3pSiY7Y/w-d-xo.html 👍
Well done! I watched it even though I don’t need the bridge. For a light mount I use the two-fish lockblock mounted with two zipties right in the middle of the steering wheel on top of that screw…. Surprisingly sturdy. And I can still angle the light up and down (a little). For the phone: nite ize has a nice mount which places the phone next to your grips. A fancy (fanaue) mount does the same but mounts the phone in the middle. My nav app is my speedometer.
Possibly, but as both ends aren’t sealed to the handlebar ‘exactly’, any water that gets in will drain out. You could always drill drainage holes if wish. Thanks for the comment. Enjoy 🙏
Wonderful stuff! I’m heading to Lowes right now. Also, once I cut a zip tie ( cable tie if you will) there invariably seems to be sharp bit that stabs my finger or catches on something. I discovered that nail clippers cut that bit off flush and the universe unfolds as it should. Again……thanks for this great clip. Oh……and your workshop? Never mind the cleanup…..and you can tell the Mrs I said so…..
Stumbled on this. It seems the electric B has these handlebars, seems I might have to get an electric B, so it seems I will have a long piece of 21 mm waste water pipe. Beautifuly clear instructions. Many thanks. ?
Nice! Any reason (outside weight) one wouldn't want to use one piece of aluminium handle bar and fit that in a similar way? These Brompton handlebar bridges are hard to get online...
I’m sure you could create something very similar using aluminium tubing, but it’s not something I have easy access to… no idea what the minimum length you can buy is either… ‘spose you could cut down some handle-bars to fit 👍
The one shown in the video is from Decathlon - but its not magnetic - its a waterproof cover and mount that my iPhone 13mini, including its case fits snugly into. I use a Mous Evolution Interlock case and mount for dry days.... thanks for watching
I’ve recently purchased a printed bridge bar and I’m not that impressed with the quality, I’m expecting it to break at any time. Thanks for sharing this, think I’ll be fabricating one like yours 👍👍😊😊

I’m more than happy to share. Glad you found it useful. 👍
Great idea! I'm going to use this design for my bike and call it the Bokooda Bridge.
Glad you found it useful. Enjoy your rides 👍
Great job, well done
Resourcefulness of the highest order….respect 😊
👍
Can I be the first to order one of the 18 you’ll be making to use all the pipe!!!

Glad I could help. The Switch system looks good 👍
That's brilliant, makes a far more useable cockpit space! Thanks.
Glad you found it useful 👍
Very clever! Thanks for sharing.

Excellent! I thought it might interfere with the fold, but you showed it didn't. Thank you.
Ingenious, simple, cheap! Thanks for sharing.
Enjoy!
same stuff I used to attach to the saddle for hanging the backpack on the back of the Brompton.

That is awesome, brilliant ideas are what I love about youtube. Thanks!
Your welcome 👍
Oh man this is a great idea thanks!
Genial!! Gracias
👍
Good idea and looks good. Thanks for the idea.
I have a theory that it will fill with water though unless you seal the 5mm holes with something.
Possibly, but as both ends aren’t sealed to the handlebar ‘exactly’, any water that gets in will drain out. You could always drill drainage holes if wish. Thanks for the comment. Enjoy 🙏
Its made of plastic, what harm can water do
😂
Good idea. Thanks.

Glad you found it useful. Next time I’ll use the Mrs’s nail clippers instead of scissors 👍
Nice one, mate.
Enjoy 👍
Thank you for this, I'm off to Toolstation 😀
Enjoy 🙏
Simple and effective, thanks 👍🏼
You're welcome
Thanks, I was thinking of a similar method so nice to see your build. And, the extra pipe you could make a didgeridoo 😀
🤣
Excellent clip and a great mod. ( being ‘old-school’, I avoid the annoying and oft- used term ‘hack’. )
No ‘hack’ involved, just a solution. Enjoy 🙏
Brilliant!
Glad you found it informative
can you share some of the leftover pipe?
Smart!
👍
Hello,
Nicely done... and a fabulous price...
take care.

Many thanks!

@@Bokooda that's the plan, will try something based on a handle bar extender next week...
Great video! Where did you get the cell phone magnetic holder from? Thanks

What is the angle on those brackets?
45 degrees I think, but you can just use the straight coupler and cut it in half...
super!
👍

Mines still going strong 👍
Is the waste pipe an ABS pipe?
It’s one of the following

@@Bokooda Thanks for the clarification.
Just been looking at the price of Brompton handlebar bridges on eBay. Crikey.....How much?!!!😂....I'm off to Wickes when they open!
Exactly. Not sure if Wickes do the 22mm black pipe though. Got mine from Toolstation 👍
I've always been surprised this isn't something available from (1) Brompton or (2) one of the many third-party suppliers.
Me too 👍
They are available, but at an extortionate price point (£35). This is so much better, thank you for the video.
brompton with "bmx" handlebars ... LOL 😅
That was my inspiration 👍
