They look good. I would have purchased a set if not already had Golden Age Models set. I suggest you get R3993 Hornby OO Gauge LNER, A4 Class, 4-6-2, 4490 'Empire of India' - Era 3. This is one of the locos actually used to haul the coronation set. Currently at Rails for £190.
@davew2452 , spotted that. Hopefully, the model is heavy enough to haul the eight plus the Beaver tail! It looks to weigh about. 6kg, which may be adequate. I have Bittern and Mallard, both diecast but neither hauled this train. The B12 I used just about manages half the full rake without wheel slip!
very nice, have been wondering on a rake of these, couldn't run more than a pair of twinsets and maybe the observation car, would want the lot though "just in case" for the future lighting and interiors look good, last time I checked the Hornby site had remarkably little information on them so good to see it working nicely done :)
@aleopardstail thank you, yes Hornby info is not very informative. They are brilliant coaches. The pair of coaches way almost 300g, therefore a full rake will be 1.2kg + the observation car. That is not due out for a couple of weeks. I think there are a few coaches still available but v few full rakes of 8 for sale now
What you need, to haul the full set, is a modern Hornby A4 engine. The modern Hornby A4s are bigger, heavier and stronger. Only half of your full set of coaches arrived? Not good enough. The whole set should have arrived in one go. Hornby are falling behind on their deliveries, it's clear to see. Better chase up the other half of your coaches, see what's going on. Loved your B12 engine by the way.
@kellyashfordtrains2642 I like my B12, and gave it thr chance of special duties. The remaining coaches arrived today, I need find a heavy A4 loco. I have Mallard as a Hornby Dublo but it's never been removed from the box, not yet!
@@vcs00railway The Mallard was only used for the speed record with the coronation coaches. Two coaches and beavertail removed and dynomometer coach added.
@pauljonnson1181 I think the RRP is £149 per pair. Not so easy to find all four from one retailer. Might be worth checking eBay if you are looking for the full set
Nice coaches and I am glad to see Hornby are improving their packaging as well starting with their newer models.
Absolutely beautiful. I can only wish. Sometimes Hornby can just get things right.

These coaches look superb cannot wait to receive the 4 packs ps the observation coach which i believe will be a couple of weeks behind
I’m looking forward to someone showing how to open these up and allow the fitting of some passengers
@lordsnooty4138 agreed, I haven't had time to explore that yet. Magnetic roofs would have been perfect, hopefully it's not too difficult though
@@vcs00railway (mine are in their way) it would be a shame if that observation car was empty

What happened to the original stock?
@David-g1p-v8k scrapped apart from the Beavertail is preserved, I think stored at the Hornby one to one Museum which is yet to open to the public
Nice how much are they
