Love your videos. If you want to have fish next to the peg you need two things: deeper water (check with the council and see if you are allowed to dig in front of the peg) and second thing you need a structure on the bottom (use a piece of a dead tree trunk).
Iv got a canal at the bottom of my garden very similar to yours shallow also, iv had 3 carp upto 10lb and around 20 very nice tench and some huge bream. When i first moved in it seemed impossible. my best advice would be to make a weed rake and rake a nice strip in the centre. this will soon scrape back some silt and give you a bit of depth. Raking the silt then fishing on the raked spot a couple of hours later will get you a result the fish come in after the newly exposed naturals. pre bait but never bait loose feed around while your fishing you just want your hook bait out. last hour of daylight and first 2 hours of darkness are best times for a bite. fish a 15mm wafter white or pink with a bite alarm.
7 AM should be 5 seconds 10 AM should be 5-7 seconds 2 PM 5 seconds 5 PM 3 seconds 6 PM 3 SECONDS 7 PM 3 seconds 11 pm 10 seconds 3 AM 5 seconds 4:30 AM 10 seconds i also got one of these and this is the time is use for my backyad pond I hope this helps you guys! That aerator is a really good idea. Maybe plant out some more Lillie's for cover. With all those fry about you're better off doing some bfs with a little 11/2 inch a sparkly soft plastic shad/minnow. Get some perch or jacks
As a local, I've walked up that stretch with my lure over the years and there was not a sausage in there (probably because you guys like your sausage!). I think you should stock up the stretch! It now has a lot going for it....all that oxygen :)
Not sure if you can do it on the canals, but I used to work for a water company and we had a big issue with algae and weed on the reservoirs. We used to string out bales of barley straw into the water. It prevents algae growth, worth a shot, tie one up to the deck and get it out there!

Get some chum barrels in lads , probably hold off buying a bigger boat for now though, if you put a predator decoy on the deck like a cat or mink it might deter the swans ,especially if they have signets.

3.9 is decent depth got the cut .. that's usually the central track depth . The far side would be a foot deep and we would catch fish on it . Those lilly pads would hold fish during the last hour of day light ... 🌞🎣🎣

If it were me I’d set it to feed at times that you would normally fish. One thing fish are good at is predicting the time of day when food is most likely available.
I actually think a couple more of those aerators would be a good idea. Just have a pocket of oxygenated water by your dock and the movement of the water might attracts some bugs/fish., maybe scare away the damn swans as well.

Get the auto feeder locked up lads or it will get swiped. Feed the same spot consistently, towards some lilies down the edge would be good. then no boats will be messing with the spot. Feed much smaller pellets if it will take um. feed crack of dawn, 11am, 3pm , dusk/ last light, couple of times through the night. Job done. Give it a couple of weeks to became established.
I recon, baiting times through the day should be shorter so it doesn't give the swans too much of an opportunity, 6am 5secs - 10am 5 secs - 1pm 5secs, then maybe a break so the swans can go brush they're teeth, 8pm 10secs and a midnight 00:00 20sec top up for a through the night dinner plate then have a spare setting for when you figure out what way your arse is facing
Idea: create a scaremink. I've never seen anything deter ducks and swans like a mink. If they catch sight of anything that looks even vaguely like a mink they will sod right off - they'll literally fly several hundred metres away.

If its the older birmingham canal it was only dug to 4 foot originally in the main channel , the new canal is 5.5 foot to allow for the heavier loads of coal and iron ore for the black country
