There are rumors of a Rebels sequel series that is set to replace Resistance and is supposed to be about Ahsoka and Sabine's search for Ezra, what are your thoughts on this?
Im hoping for the third Ahsoka series to drop this year. It would be an amazing reveal at Celebration especially since at that point TCW S7 will be over.
So nice to get your positive view on things. Even when you have a criticism against something, it's constructive and you focus more on what you enjoyed rather than repeatedly bashing what you didn't.
Star Wars Rebels was so good, and is what really make me a Star Wars fan, everything from the use of early concepts from a new Hope, to the after show Rebels Recon, podcasts and videos every episode, that was when I was enjoying Star Wars at it’s fullest. The connectivity between the media too, the same day the Protectors episode aired the comic telling Fenn Rau and Kanan first encounter came out. All the extra material, specially in season 1 is extensive too. Today Star Wars isn’t so fun anymore to me. I was the kind of guy that liked Star Wars when I watched The Clone Wars (2003) or played the original Battlefront 2 as a kid, Star Wars Rebels was what brought me to this community though.
Star Wars Phase 1 television is the best format of Canon we’ve had so far, my favorite, and I’m with you on Rebels Alex! I’ll always owe Disney for bringing Thrawn to the small screen!
Resistance isn't a great show but it is a good show. I'm glad they tried something different and hope we see more of those characters once the show ends.
At the start of Season 1, I missed one or two episodes such as Fuel for the Fire and Signal from Sector Six. And I watch Alex’s review on Fuel for the Fire and Signal for Sector Six because I want to know what happened. And I know, those reviews contained spoilers but I don’t care if I missed it. Thankfully somebody posted Season 1 episodes on TH-cam to make up the episodes that I missed.
I feel that Star Wars has excelled in the realm of television. The Mandalorian, Rebels and Resistance are all remarkable shows. I am very excited to see where Lucasfilm and Disney go next with Star Wars on the small screen. We’ve already got so much to look forward to. Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Kenobi and of course the Casino Ando series too. But without a doubt, Season 7 of The Clone Wars is going to be the best thing to come from this next phase.
I enjoyed Rebels the first time around. Now that I have a kid, I'm rewatching the entire series and I love it even more for all the lessons behind each episode. Can't wait for my daughter to get to that age where she'll enjoy and understand all that it has to offer
0:39 "We've only ever had 4 series, 6 if you include the Droids and Ewoks cartoons." And there's also the original Clone Wars micro series from 2003 - 05 (also now that I've added the quote, people might actually understand what I'm talking about).
The only issue with that is really that this is focusing on stuff released in the past five years while those came out in that period and also in terms of being a TV show, really only the second half of it which was meant to lead directly into Revenge of the Sith is a standard TV show since each episode is about 12 minutes at the very least whereas the rest are just three minutes.
@@PhantomObserver the part I was a focusing on was how he said that Star Wars has only had 4 TV Shows ever and technically 6 including the ewok and droid cartoons (the reason I left a timestamp)
@@Jedi_Spartan Yeah, I picked up on this as well. Expected him to say, Droids, Ewoks, and the Cartoon Network Clone Wars. Yes, they are short episodes but it was still a series on TV.
Alex, I had the EXACT reaction and experience with Rebels. I ONLY GAVE IT A CHANCE because of your honest commentary about the show after season one. It is also some of my favorite Star Wars anything. Obi Wan facing Darth Maul is my favorite scene in Star Wars. I’m hold hope they may recreate it live action in the Kenobi series. Thanks for the nudge and the content over the years.
I really think Disney would benefit from making a Clone Wars style show set in the sequel era. That show did wonders for the prequels, would be just as good for the sequels. Got 30 years of content to cover, going all the way to TROS.
I liked Rebels, I’m enjoying the Mandalorian, & with Resistance I wasn’t impressed with the first ever trailer but as time went on it’s grown on me and have better appreciation for it.
When Star Wars Rebels S1 came out I thought that it was terrible and now...oh boy I love It. The fight between Kenobi and Maul is my most favourite moment of entire star wars. Am waiting for sequel 🤞🤞
Rebels is amazing and my favorite so far too. Mandalorian had a great first season. Resistance is fun, though I do wish it got more into the backstories of the Aces.
I just wish Dave had waited until after the trilogy was over THEN make Resistance with his full involvement. Also have Henry Gilroy involved and do a Resistance Recon. Until then he should have continued Rebels.
I didn't say he cancelled it. I know he chose to finish but it would have been nice if he continued for another few seasons till after The Mandalorian season 2. Then finish Clone Wars and THEN do Resistance when he has the whole ST laid out for him and make it just as long as the last 2.
I'm rewatching Clone Wars and after this I'm definetely continuing with Rebels afterthat. Never gave a chance to the TV shows since the 2003 series until now, pretty good.
it just frustrates me how little major content we have gotten from the prequel era since Clone Wars ended. We got one TV show, two movies and two video games set in the original trilogy time, and one TV show and three movies set in the sequel era, and the Mandalorian in between those two eras. And of the upcoming stuff, we know there will be another two TV shows for the OT era. So please, can we get a video game or a new TV show from the prequel era again? Even though Episodes 1-3 are not my favorite movies, the time they are set in is still my favorite era of Star Wars and it frustrates me that Disney seems to just ignore it when it comes to big releases. It's amazing we are getting a final season of Clone Wars, but compared to the other eras, that's not a whole lot.
I love these shows. I think watching Rebels - and I joined in just before Season 2 began - is what convinced me to go all in on the Canon Universe, like you have. Once I had seen S1 of Rebels, I knew I needed to buy and read the Servants of the Empire series. And I wanted to read about Kanan and Hera. I had watch and loved The Clone Wars, but really read none of the comics or novels in the new canon (or much of the old canon, really). It wasn't my expanded universe. Rebels changed that for me. I am surprised you forgot out Forces of Destiny and Galaxy of Adventures when it comes to TV shows, though. Those micro-series - like 2003-05's "Clone Wars" - may be small bites, but they're elucidating canon and can tell new stories in the margins of the films and full-length TV shows!
I only ever hear people mention Ahsoka vs Vader, the World Between Worlds, and sometimes the older characters like Maul, Rex, and Thrawn when they talk about Rebels being a "great" show. It's never the actual main characters or the plots that took up the vast majority of the show. Both of which I found pretty subpar.
The Mandalorian is awesome and continually surprised me. Twilight of the Apprentice is one of the best Star Wars stories ever. Resistance is the only that I haven't gotten into yet, but it's on my list and I'm looking forward to it.
I'm going to go out on a limb and put some of the blame of Resistance's success on the movies. This show has episodes that are in the works over a year before they are released on television, and it's taking place at the same time as the Sequel Trilogy while those movies were still coming out. I think had they waited for the trilogy to be completed there would have been a lot more room for connections to be made. Resistance does this really well in Season 1 with The Force Awakens. Poe shows up a bunch and you get to see all the cool stuff that comes along with that as it ties into the movie towards the end, but then in Season 2, outside of seeing D'qar, we've been out doing stuff that has just not been engaging, and I think part of that is because the show runners didn't know what was happening in The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. I'm fine with following a cast that isn't in the movies, Rebels follows a bunch of nobodies and it's fantastic, but they still found ways to tie into the Rebel Alliance and show what happens before the Original Trilogy takes place. It sounds like we're going to be meeting up with the Resistance in these final episodes, so I do have hope, but so much of Season 2 has been a disappointment because we just don't have any direction of where it's heading and that may have been because the people making the show were also not sure where the Sequel Trilogy was heading. I could be wrong, these final episodes could be the best they've ever had, but I just have a feeling, one might even say it's a bad feeling. So not everything that has brought Resistance down in the eyes of the fans is entirely Resistance's fault on its own.
There are rumors that there will be a new Star Wars animated TV series coming in the Fall of 2020 after the end of Resistance in the end of January and after The Clone Wars (the final season) in the end of April or early May. The director of this new Star Wars animated TV series could be Dave Filoni because of him being done working on Resistance and is still pondering the next story line. Anyway, the big rumor on the new Star Wars animated TV series is that it will be about Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren leaving Lothal to go find Jedi Ezra Bridger and possibly Thrawn. The series is rumored to start right where we left off from the series finale of Rebels back in March of 2018. My guess is that Star Wars confirms that this will happen around late May or early June and that the show will start in the Fall of 2020. I am praying for this and I have high hopes for a Rebels sequel to happen.
I’m on the same page as you. I enjoyed Resistance quite a bit :) I remember having the similar hesitations w Rebels but it also became my fave thing Star Wars. I’m HOPING Rebels comes back focusing on the search for Ezra 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Rebels was a good show. It should’ve been better though, it definitely chose filler when more interesting stories were there to tell, especially in season 3. Resistance wasn’t very good. Even for kids. It doesn’t have the action, the good characters, or really anything much that will appeal to kids or fans. No surprise it’s going away after two seasons. The Mandalorian is good. I wouldn’t say it’s kind blowing but it’s a solid start to what live action Star Wars television which is likely to be a gold mine of Star Wars stories in the future. In the future I hope they make more large scale shows like The Clone Wars and something like a Star Wars version of Game of Thrones (lots of factions/characters vying for power) would be fantastic. I think and hope Star Wars TV is ready to take it to the next level.
Griffin Shearer Well if you want a game of thrones style show for Star Wars the Old Republic would work The Republic , Sith Empire, Mandolorians, Hutts, and more fighting for Galactic Domination there could be an episode when the Sith Order storms the Jedi Temple or a duel between Revan and several Sith Lords
also agree with the idea for the tv series to be about personal stories within the movies sort of to fill in the blanks or any questions we might have about certain characters or even “oh hey i wonder what else is happening in this time frame!?” my issue with the newest movie was that it was too fast and i have never once felt that way about any of the star wars tv series! i’m so excited for what disney+ does in the future :)
scotty welch I’m a big fan of the rebellion and I’m interested in what Cassian did that he said he was ashamed of in Rogue One and just his missions, and yes also K2. Thanks for asking!
i don’t understand the point of the Cassian Andor show, like i do like him but he is way too small of a character for me to completely care about. also his fate is already determined and it’s just weird to watch
SammyDoesNotExist_ knowing that he dies isn’t a problem for me, my hope is the series will deepen his character and make his death more emotional. Also the Kenobi series is pretty much the same...we know Obi Wan dies in Ep 4
My idea for a show like that would be exploring how Rey starts the New Jedi Order and maybe trying to reach the World Between Worlds to bring Ben Solo back. It’s a stupid idea, but an idea nonetheless.
Joseph Simpson Ahsoka was saved through the World Between Worlds, who knows, there might be more to explore about that plain of existence than we know of.
@@lucasivanov7824 Yeah, but afterwards she was returned, and her death hadn't been confirmed. Ben can't be saved in the same way that Kanan couldn't be saved; they've already died. Time turner rules.
But also have you heard that rebels is getting a new sequel show with an announcement in March or April at all? Honestly that would be amazing I think and season 1 could be about ahsoka and Sabine finding Ezra.
I enjoy Resistance, but as many have said, I don't believe it has reached the heights that the other shows have. There is frequently a distinct lack of tension or danger, which would be less of a problem if there were a firmer set of character arcs to follow, but they've sidelined the most dynamic character, Tam, out of most season two episodes, and instead of letting our main hero Kaz deal with the loss of his homeworld, he's been shunted right back to "silly spy guy" for the vast majority of his screentime. I would love to love the show; the animation is slick, the design work is stellar, I like all of the main cast of characters, and the show's setting and premise set it up to be a unique kind of Star Wars adventure-- but apart from the end of season one, it feels afraid to put any real threat in front of the heroes, or give them a moment to breathe and reflect on the conflict between jokes and set-pieces. It's always fun, but it's rarely ever firing on all cylinders. I hope it goes out on a high-note, and that the next animated series we get is more focused, and willing to challenge the audience a bit more.
Any chance of a vid covering the timeline of Star Wars as it stands at the end of Phase One? Where all the shows sit on that timeline and maybe even when Palpatine had a kid and Rey was born?
Yeah I think that there is a sense of consistency with the TV shows whereas the films arguably had ups and downs. With The Mandalorian proving to be a success and having surprises (e.g. Baby Yoda), it will be interesting to see what's next for Star Wars TV. It also helps that Star Wars TV can serve as testing grounds for potential Star Wars directors, including diverse people such as Deborah Chow. Hopefully Star Wars TV continues to be successful! And I predict that with games, you'll also say it has its ups and downs like the films (downs: Battlefront II controversies, ups: Jedi: Fallen Order).
I like the 3 series. I’ve grown to like many different types of animation styles. If you can just get over the grudge that Star Wars the clone wars animation is the only animation for Star Wars then you’re fine. Overall the 3 series are all different, and all great.
You dismiss the Droids cartoon, but I think that they should explore the idea of bringing that back. Not exactly the same of course, but an episodic series focusing on lesser known characters to introduce parts of the Star Wars galaxy that just have an interesting element to explore would be worth a try.
Regarding Boba Fett. I HIGHLY recommend checking out the deleted scene in A NEW HOPE with Han Solo and Jabba the Hutt. Boba Fett is also in that scene. When Boba Fett enters that scene you can hear his suit making Bleeps or Digital noise. It's the exact same noise when the man appears at the end of episode 5 of the Mandalorian. That noise as well as the spurs makes me have no doubt it's Boba Fett. Or someone wearing his suit. Let me know what you think.
Hey quick question, would you want Martin Campbell (director of Goldeneye and Casino Royal) to direct a Star Wars film or an episode of The Mandalorian? Cause I think he would do a great job with the latter.
I was wondering if you'd include Forces of Destiny in this talk, guess not. Resistance has its ups and downs, it really feels like it's the step-child compared to the others. It doesn't get any of the same love as the others, from the public or seemingly from LFL :(
Would love to see more cross-media involment with TV/Streaming as well! Some crossover with comics (*Ahem*, Aphra for example) or books (the Wexley crew from Aftermath between books 1 and 2), maybe even adaptations of existing books and comics as well like with Alphabet Squad or the upcomming Zahn books. Not even serialized episodes, maybe mini series or even a "for tv" movie at like 1 to 1&1/2 hour length. So much potential I hope they dont waste any of it! Exciting times ahead!
What do you think of the possibility of Ashoka going back through the world between worlds and searching for a long time and finally coming out back to Anakin before he turns even a little. Like Hello Master, this would be after she was gone fir a while maybe. Just wondering.
Resistance is easily the best looking animated Star Wars series ever released. I prefer the flat look of the show to the earlier series which closer resembled video games.
Could you please do a video about the canon history of Mandalore once the seventh season of The Clone Wars and the siege of mandalore are released? Like a recap for everyone who's watching the Mandalorian and want to be up to speed with the lore
I like Star Wars Resistance because (I said it couple times idk how much) it is the first Star Wars TV show I watched on TV. I missed some episodes in Season 1 such as Fuel for the Fire, and Signal from Sector Six? Thankfully, somebody post some Star Wars Resistance episodes on TH-cam and I was able to watch it. Edit: And I might have watched Fuel for the Fire and Signal from Sector Six reviews because I missed those episodes and I want to know what happened (and I know, I know, those are spoiler reviews, but I don’t care if I missed an episode).
Hey comments, should I watch Resistance? Love Clone Wars, Rebels and Mando but haven't seen anything that got me super jazzed for Resistance, am I missing out on really cool stuffs?
Can you please do a video on the original with species, not the sixth Jedi, but the original species themselves. Also, can you explain the origin of the force
I want a show set between episodes 8 and 9. I haven’t seen 9 yet, but I know it felt like a sour note to a lot of people, and I don’t wither sequel characters to leave on a sour note
The ONLY thing that bothers me with Resistance is Kaz being Jar Jar Binks but a pilot. Jar Jar never bothered me cus he was a side character, but Kaz is the main character and hes essentially slips in dung every episode and never seems to learn how to spy. I find it hard to look up to someone who is so incompetent all the time. Cred to Resistance for expanding the lore though.
I really want to see a Star Wars live action Enfys Nest show. Her character was, next to Chewbacca, my favorite things from the movie. I want to know what happened to the character 🤔😁✌🏼
I agree with Alex, in that I like Rebels and The Mandalorian more the Resistance. I am fully aware that Resistance is intended for children, however, I can't stand the character of Kaz. He's too childish and clumsy. I don't mind that in comedic relief characters like Neeku, but I feel that, at this point in the series, I would like Kaz to show some maturity and character growth. He seems more like a child, and not a full-grown adult who was a fighter pilot for the New Republic Navy and a member of the Resistance. However, that's just me, I guess, and hopefully the next animated series will have a more compelling main character.
It's a lame kiddie show marketed toward adults for some reason. He named pretty much the only good things in it. The main characters and the stories (for the most part) are both pretty dumb.
I never understood why Rebels got such a bad rep. because the show just started and just needed building up with the story and characters. Rebels really shouldn't be compared to TCW because Rebels is a completely different story that focuses on the force whereas, TCW concentrates on how Palpatine rose to power and how the Jedi lost their way.
There are rumors of a Rebels sequel series that is set to replace Resistance and is supposed to be about Ahsoka and Sabine's search for Ezra, what are your thoughts on this?

Rebels>Mando>Resistance
Can’t wait for Mando season 2, Kenobi and Cassian Andor series
Out of curiosity why are you excited for the Cassian Andor series? Other then K2SO. What are you looking forward to?
scotty welch I’m a big fan of the rebellion and I’m interested in what Cassian did that he said he was ashamed of in Rogue One and just his missions, and yes also K2. Thanks for asking!
Ryan Sutter thanks for answering.
i don’t understand the point of the Cassian Andor show, like i do like him but he is way too small of a character for me to completely care about. also his fate is already determined and it’s just weird to watch
SammyDoesNotExist_ knowing that he dies isn’t a problem for me, my hope is the series will deepen his character and make his death more emotional. Also the Kenobi series is pretty much the same...we know Obi Wan dies in Ep 4
Hoping we get something post Rise of Skywalker on TV. Feel like there's a lot of potential there.
My idea for a show like that would be exploring how Rey starts the New Jedi Order and maybe trying to reach the World Between Worlds to bring Ben Solo back.
It’s a stupid idea, but an idea nonetheless.

"That's not how the Force works!"
Joseph Simpson Ahsoka was saved through the World Between Worlds, who knows, there might be more to explore about that plain of existence than we know of.
If she saved him he wouldn't have been in exegol
@@lucasivanov7824
Yeah, but afterwards she was returned, and her death hadn't been confirmed. Ben can't be saved in the same way that Kanan couldn't be saved; they've already died. Time turner rules.
I love bringing up the Thrawn reveil at Star Wars Celebration 2016. I was there. You bringing it up brings tears to my eyes every time!
I love mandorian it’s fantastic and really tons of fun
But also have you heard that rebels is getting a new sequel show with an announcement in March or April at all? Honestly that would be amazing I think and season 1 could be about ahsoka and Sabine finding Ezra.
WAIT!!! In what world is the Clone Wars TV show not considered #1
Thanks, Alex! ⭐
Great job as always 👍
Rebels is my favourite animated SW show (I like CW but just don't get as invested in the characters as it jumps around so much)
Rebels got me through middle school, so I 100% agree with you!
Love watching all Alex's hand gestures>
Rebels is my favorite animated series
Any chance of a vid covering the timeline of Star Wars as it stands at the end of Phase One? Where all the shows sit on that timeline and maybe even when Palpatine had a kid and Rey was born?
I haven't seen resistance yet but I love rebels and the mandalorian so I'll probably check it out
Granular. Well said 👌🏻
My only feedback for the TV side of Star Wars is: MORE PLEASE!
I can't wait for Disney+ to come to my country so I can binge watch Rebels again
Mandalorian is the best hands down
THIS IS THE WAY!
I never thought about it until now but is there a sliver of a chance that we see Thrawn in a live action series for Disney plus?
You should do a video on what would have happened if Rey hadn't found BB-8
Hey quick question, would you want Martin Campbell (director of Goldeneye and Casino Royal) to direct a Star Wars film or an episode of The Mandalorian? Cause I think he would do a great job with the latter.
The only Star Wars show i've havent watched yet is Resistance. But i'm definitely going to watch it on Disney+
Same here
I was wondering if you'd include Forces of Destiny in this talk, guess not.
Will we get a segment on phase one books?
4 shows? What about Clone Wars Micro series from 2003?
Hey comments, should I watch Resistance? Love Clone Wars, Rebels and Mando but haven't seen anything that got me super jazzed for Resistance, am I missing out on really cool stuffs?
They have done much better with this than the movies I'd say the future of SW seems to be with the TV series for next phase.
Star Wars rebels and the mandalorian are good.
Can you please do a video on the original with species, not the sixth Jedi, but the original species themselves. Also, can you explain the origin of the force
What about Star Wars forces of destiny? I know it’s not a show, but I feel that it belongs in this category.
Star Wars rebels was 50% good for me
Great seasons: 2 and 4
Okay season: 3
Bad Season was 1
I want a show set between episodes 8 and 9. I haven’t seen 9 yet, but I know it felt like a sour note to a lot of people, and I don’t wither sequel characters to leave on a sour note
Nice Video :)
what happened to the new yoda chronicles, droid tales, all-stars, and the freemakers
also i loved rebels and resistance
Uh you forgot about The Freemaker Adventures
Did you see "Forces of Destiny"? I must say, i liked it a lot. Would be nice to see your opinion
What about the clone wars
0:37 *sad 2003 Clone Wars sounds
I did heard that they are making new Star Wars rebel sequel show
What about the LEGO shows?
I want a Live Action show in the time the Jedi were powerful i want lightsaber battles etc. God i miss those epic battles like Anakin vs Obi
Are you gonna talk about both the EA games (Battlefront, Battlefront 2, and Jedi Fallen Order) and the Lego TFA game or only the EA games?
I hope season 7 of the Clone Wars will be closer in tone to Rebels
The Mandalorian come on baby do the magic hand thing
Doesn’t forces of destiny count as well? I mean it is animation but I guess they’re mostly shorts so maybe they don’t count at much?
I cant do the animation of resistance
Star Wars Episode 4 A New Hope Revisited ADYWAN Widescreen Menu
Rebels was amazing
I gots the Force in my own now cancelled series
I liked them
Palpy and friends on DisneyJR
I honestly really don’t like rebels, everything just seems so slow and can be quite boring at times, I personally much prefer mandolorian
It's a lame kiddie show marketed toward adults for some reason. He named pretty much the only good things in it. The main characters and the stories (for the most part) are both pretty dumb.
you missed out the clone wars
You forgot Star Wars The Clone Wars and you forgot the other six movies of Star Wars too they are part of phase one of Star Wars.
