    I never knew Ethan Hawke was so articulate. He’s an exceptional actor. The Before trilogy was really good. I’m a new fan.

    I've always loved Ethan Hawke. I read an article in Details magazine years ago that he was in and I was impressed that he was so well read and well spoken. I'm now impressed about his knowledge of music and philosophy.

    I love that Ethan Hawke has embraced his own pretentiousness, and I enjoy listening to his broader views on art, relationships, society and politics. Aside from being an excellent film, Tape is a brilliant case study on the important subject of consent. It should be compulsory viewing for high school and uni students - and their parents!

    Ethan speaks what I think about these bio films. Most of them. Great performance in leading role and predictible screenplay.

    28:00 I'm so glad climate change got brought up. One of the most important issues in the world right now (or, more broadly, general ecologically loss/loss of biodiversity/biomass)

    What was that gesture from the host on 54:15? In Russia it's a rude thing, similar to showing middle finger. Kinda ruined for me this otherwise great interview.

    • @ccsullivan_writer
      @ccsullivan_writer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think he was showing his hand without point his finger. I may be wrong but there was nothing rude meant from the host. If anything I believe the host became very comfortable sitting talking with Ethan,that when he pointed his finger at him (which to me is a sign of someone comfortable with another) and Ethan reacted, he was thrown off, realizing he might have overstepped. It seems easy to become comfortable with Ethan, I know I would because he is so personable. Anyway, there was no rudeness meant by it, I’m most certain. 😊

    • @ccsullivan_writer
      @ccsullivan_writer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve come back here because I looked up the gesture you are referring to, and understand your reaction now. I still don’t think he meant to offend.
