I've always loved Ethan Hawke. I read an article in Details magazine years ago that he was in and I was impressed that he was so well read and well spoken. I'm now impressed about his knowledge of music and philosophy.
Hello there. Thank you very much for your lovely words, I really do appreciate it. Tell me what's your favorite movie of all my movies you have seen so far?
I love that Ethan Hawke has embraced his own pretentiousness, and I enjoy listening to his broader views on art, relationships, society and politics. Aside from being an excellent film, Tape is a brilliant case study on the important subject of consent. It should be compulsory viewing for high school and uni students - and their parents!

28:00 I'm so glad climate change got brought up. One of the most important issues in the world right now (or, more broadly, general ecologically loss/loss of biodiversity/biomass)
What was that gesture from the host on 54:15? In Russia it's a rude thing, similar to showing middle finger. Kinda ruined for me this otherwise great interview.
I think he was showing his hand without point his finger. I may be wrong but there was nothing rude meant from the host. If anything I believe the host became very comfortable sitting talking with Ethan, that when he pointed his finger at him (which to me is a sign of someone comfortable with another) and Ethan reacted, he was thrown off, realizing he might have overstepped. It seems easy to become comfortable with Ethan, I know I would because he is so personable. Anyway, there was no rudeness meant by it, I’m most certain. 😊
Every conversation Ethan has is so interesting. I never tire of listening to him. Another great one here.
The world needs more artists like Ethan Hawke.
I never knew Ethan Hawke was so articulate. He’s an exceptional actor. The Before trilogy was really good. I’m a new fan.
Whenever I need to dunk my creativity pail into the well of inspiration, I come to listen to Ethan Hawke. 😊
Yes,me too. Somehow he ignites that creativity spark.
Yes, me too. He can so easily ignite that creativity spark.
I think this is among the best interviews with Ethan. Congrats to Gilbert, awesome moderator! Respect for both of you
He's just great- so generous & humble & insightful. He's an artist who has something to say.

Ethan speaks what I think about these bio films. Most of them. Great performance in leading role and predictible screenplay.
I'm invariably relieved every time I remember that Ethan Hawke is not British
King of the Humans!
The host is also so charismatic.

Great interview
MLK was a southerner! He was from Georgia!
Great talk!
Is he one of the best people or just the best person?
Yes
Like Ethan but he couldn't be more wrong. Walk the Line is a masterpiece
What was your favorite takeaway from the interview?

I’ve come back here because I looked up the gesture you are referring to, and understand your reaction now. I still don’t think he meant to offend.
