The newest model of the R8 has fixed some of the problems associated with the first version thanks to reviews done. From all the reviews I have viewed? It is a very good amp.
No it’s the best of the Willsenton bunch . She has very good upgrades and being set up for EL - 34 tubes it does sound very good . ( Yes Even though it comes with KT-88’s) . To get the best sound one needs to use NOS EL - 34
@@MasterofPlay7 if you read her series on R8 upgrades , you’re right but she has some quality upgrades from its base design . I haven’t touched mine except AND this is THE main denominator of tube amps , I have expensive NOS measured tubes which in many instances cost more than the cheaper amps . They make a huge difference . I also use EL-34 ‘s which this amp in reality is set up for .

I just received my silver R8 a couple of weeks ago and I'm enjoying it immensely. Looks beautiful and sounds fantastic.

@@jd2plus2 yea you shouldn't put expensive tubes on them, I heard they will get fried
