I grew up on a ‘49 John Deere B and then when I was about 12, Grandpa got an AR and the AR is the one I drove on my own for many years. I have fond memories of harrowing a small hay field with it, but to this day my favourite will always be that little B

I grew up on a 14 acre farm in Michigan. We had 2 John Deere tractor. We had a 1939 “B”, and a 1947 “M”. I love the sound of the 2 cal tractors. My older brother has the M we grew up with. The engine of the M has never been opened up since it came out of the factory. It runs great. At this time I have a 1963 Massey Ferguson 35 utility Govt Edition. This tractor as built for the USAF, only 169 of these units were built. I have the 167th one. I also have a late 1941 A. It is a war time tractor. It was built the 3rd week of December 41. This is a hand start tractor. I am working restoring both of these. The Massey is almost complete, it has been T years in the making. This has been mostly a cosmetic restoration.

This is a dream of mine to have a large collection like that 😍
I’ve only got three as of right now, working on completely restoring a G, but hope to have about 30 eventually

Wow , it has a long pto shaft . Very nice model A !!!!!

I guess I'd never really noticed the PTO shaft being long... It's just the standard length for a JD A.

I have my Dad's 41 model L...crank start...single bottom plow... original owner's manual. Last ran in 2007, the year he passed. Have a video of him driving it for the last time. Someday I will get it running again.

Nice line up of tractors! Thanks for sharing. I have only one tractor, a ‘43 A hand start. It needs the clutch brake arm re-bush like you did on yours…I’ll add it to my ToDo list.

The John Deere of old, are like the Harleys of motorcycles. The two cylinders. Had a John Deere 60 growing up. Best sound of summer

Good choice! It's probably the most reliable tractor we have... Except when it's sub-zero temps outside

Grew up on a WI dairy farm in the 50s and 60s. I remember a B and G my Dad had but I never ran either of those. He later got a 50 and 730D row crop. I spent a lot of hours on those, especially the 50. Would love to get back on one or both of those and do some field work.

Impressive collection and lots of history there. I have an H and use it extensively on my small farm pulling a drag harrow, small disc, and wagons. Would love to find an A or G - very neat machines.

Thank you so much for getting back with me. I want to add two outlets in the back of my 420w, It looks like everything is there except the two lines and connections coming from the valve on the left hand side under the seat. But I cannot find where the two lines connect to the valve. There are some plugs in the valve but I don't know which ones to pull out and screw in the lines. I hope this makes sense. thank you very much. Fred
