Since it won't be mentioned anymore in the anime, these are Chrollo's conditions regarding his Bandit's Secret ability. This is how he steals people's Nen abilities. 1.Chrollo must witness the Nen ability in action with his eyes. 2. He must ask questions about Nen and be answered by the victim. 3. His victim's palm must touch the handprint on the cover of Bandit's Secret. 4. All of the above must be completed within one hour.
I know very very *very* little about Japanese history and folklore, but I do believe Nobunaga's name comes from a real life Japanese public figure and samurai Oda Nobunaga
Just some clarification even though you probably know by now: - There is no betrayal in the Zoldyck situation. It's business, simple as that. Silva & Zeno took the job of killing Chrollo from the ten Dons. Illumi took the job of killing the Ten Dons from Chrollo. Both sides knew about both deals. It was just a matter of who completed their job first, hence why Illumi called immediately. Because if he finishes the job first, the other job is void and his client (Chrollo) survives. However if Silva and Zeno had killed Chrollo beforehand, Illumi wouldn't have killed the Ten Dons. Or, well, maybe he still would have since in contrast to Silva and Zeno he does seem to enjoy killing without reward more - but he wouldn't have been obliged to do. - As for the Zoldyk children: Everyone you know is male. Even the one dressing (and perhaps identifying?) as a girl is biologically male. - As for what Zeno said: He is very confident that he can beat Chrollo 1 on 1 as long as Chrollo doesn't get serious about killing him. Essentially, Chrollo has to put everything on the line and go for the kill in order for the battle to be more open. This says a lot about the strength of both Zeno and Chrollo. But it doesn't necessarily mean that Chrollo will immediately win once he goes for the kill. It's just that he would give Zeno a much harder time. - As for the prediction and the limbs: It's a prophecy in the form of a poem or at least poetry. It's FULL of metaphors. Don't take everything in there literally. You didn't ask about months when the fortune said "the remaining months gather to mourn". But you only think about Chrollo literally losing half of his limbs rather than, well, the spider. Little heads-up, something many people don't know: Neon's prophecies play out within a month. Also, they are prophecies that can technically be avoided, but only if you know the prophecy beforehand. That's why her ability, her fortunes are so sought after. Basically, she tells you the default of how something will play out, but if there's an opportunity to act differently, the outcome of the prophecy can technically be avoided. It's just that every prophecy we have seen on screen has played out as it was.
11:48 Japanese actually have a word for the quantity "a hundred of million, 億 "oku" and five is 五 "go". So it indeed sounds kinda like "goku" when Kurapika announce five hundred millions.
Don't worry Sam , theories are just theories 🤣 I haven't seen the full reaction, but if you're wondering the little one there is Kalluto. One of the Zoldyck brothers (I've been calling him 'her' for a while!) who took out the guards. The Illumi reaction was cool. I think he's pretty underrated. As for why Kurapika couldn't tell apart the copies - Conjurers make objects out of aura. My first reaction to this was like 'why couldn't he just use gyo to see the aura?' But Conjurers make tangible objects that can even be seen by non nen users. There's no aura left that's hidden by In to see, if that makes sense. You could even fool a master Conjurer with this trick. That's just my impression anyway. Illumi and Kalluto didn't betray the Zoldycks though - there's a comment that explains better. But they just took separate contracts from dad and grandaddy Zoldyck, conflicting ones. When it comes to fulfilling jobs, the family members don't always help each other out. Hisoka was trying to call Kurapika, but it didn't go through since Kurapika was on the phone with Gon. I'd say Kurapika is close with Gon and Killua - he went to rescue Killua in a potentially deadly mission because he was that grateful to Gon. He directly said to Gon in the Hunter Exam that he wouldn't have gotten through if not for him. But Kurapika is putting off giving info to them such as the Zoldycks 'killing' Chrollo because he's overprotective. The sequence of stuff that plays out this episode is just so rough on Kurapika. Finds out the Zoldycks 'killed' his targets before him. Sees the 'bodies'. Then he has to bid on his own clan's stolen eyeballs, to gift to a girl who will treat a body part like a pretty little accessory. They're not the real ones, but Kurapika dosen't know that. I think 2011 is better as a whole and these scenes aren't badly done here, but 1999's anime does them ever better. Ofc, 1999 dosen't have 'Kurapika is drowning in indescribable emptine- DOREHODO' 😎
