This genre of music is called Doom metal. This song fits that mold with the slow minor chords and overall feel. To me these songs are more about the sound of music than the actual lyrics...but that's just me.
YES!! The Kings of DOOM! These Guys are just the Masters of this Genere!! Honestly I thought you would love the song.Because none other than Black Sabbath is Candlemass' s favorite band and biggest inspiration! And honestly... if you should have understood the lyrics of all the metal songs you've already heard here better , you would have noticed that there is rarely a happy end in there! Doom Metal is characterized by its slow, sluggish, but very powerful sound. In terms of content, however, there is more to it than just death and despair. So I would be very happy if you give the boys another chance! After all, they are the Kings of Doom Metal and they very rarely dissapoint.Hands down, one of my favorite bands ever!
Absolutly!Candlemass is Metal Gold!!! I would have expected a much more positive reaction from a Black Sabbath fan! I think he never listened to the lyrics of Slayer, Metallica and even Sabbath onj this channel.Because then he would probably been noticed ,that metal almost always a very nasty, dark twist has!I mean...that's what this genre is all about!
My take it was a song about an old person who's been let down by everyone and everything in his life. They are exhausted and wish to be left alone to die in peace. I recommend the song Samarithan, it has a hopeful message. Plus a different singer who is fantastic
Sometimes you just need to grieve and it is better if you don't feel alone when you do that. Not everyone feels better with false hopes and fake happiness.
Chod great reaction! I really like that you respect the integrity of songs and don't interrupt them!!! If you react to Bridge Over Troubled Water, the studio version it will change your life!!!!!
Candlemass are just epic, Doom Metal perfection. Black Sabbath popularised Doom Metal but it was essentially pioneered by The Beatles. I'm blanking on the name of the track - never been a Beatles fan - but in the dim and distant past I remember reading that one of their tracks birthed the off shoot. There's a few branches of Metal I can't stand - Grunge, Death, Folk & "Metalcore".
Chod, one of my favorite reactors: how about something completely different--please discover David Phelps, in a live "O Holy Night" concert, an unforgettable PERFORMANCE!! Thank You!
I always appreciate your honesty. This is the first time I've heard of this band, so I am not one of their fans. I also listen to songs that have dark themes, but I know when I have been going through dark times, I like to listen to songs that are hopeful. So, listening to your comments I had to wonder how and why I listen to songs that are dark. Sometimes I know they are songs that are from characters in musicals or operas and I beleive I keep that idea in my head. When I am listening to a song that is dark, I think of it as someone's moment in time. A bad place, which everyone goes through. Here is a cover by the band Oceans of Slumber, which I found just after watching your reaction and I like the lead singer's voice better. And that is my taste. th-cam.com/video/e91SnsQS1O8/w-d-xo.html
Solitude is a great song, Epicus Doomicus Metallicus is their best album and Johan Längquist the best vocalist. Just because it's a dark depressing song doesn't mean it's "underwhelming". It's doom metal, not glam metal.
One of our best bands ever, concidering metal....This one is over 30!!!? years but still kicks A**😅😅
WOW-I never in a million years thought you would ever react to Candlemass on this channel. So awesome!

*Epic* Doom Metal. It's right there in the name.

I love how this song. Sounds like it’s just about to speed up but it never does.
It'd lose the Doom Metal feel if they did though, it's really not necessary.

One take on it is this: Depressed, no hope? At least you are not alone..we feel you.
That's a really great intepretation. Good reaction bro! Great song too!
Damn big dog you’re right in the pocket of that groove in the intro. Good stuff.
I like your cap Chod. 👍👍
This song makes you want to attend your own funeral 🤘

Dude is just nodding his head completely out of beat lol he doesn't get it at all
Nice video dude it's fun to see this stuff.
One thing to say. Never look for the light in doom. Because there obviously isn’t supposed to be any.
but pallbearer exists, pallbearer sounds fairly positive to me.

Doom is and i think will always be. My favourite Metal sub genre.
Hey Chod. A great song for what's going on in the world right now is Bob Dylan's "Masters of War." Timeless lyrics.
It sounds like this guy doesn’t understand. What Doom Metal lyrics are all about. The whole genre was basically named after this band.
can you do a reaction to Speedy's Coming by The Scorpions
I would definitely recommend you react to mark lanegan rip more specifically one hundred days of one way street you will not be disappointed
Check out Loverboy-Turn me loose
masters of Doom
Great 👍 song!
You should really watch the live version from Fryshuset (Stockholm) 1990, they are much better live

Love your reactions. Could you do Jimmy Cliff “Love Solution”?
It's Candlemass, there's no light Chod. But nice try.

Moving your head out of time and SMILING while hearing the doom metal hymn? Yeah certainly not feeling it.

Candlemass is a good group, this song is a little underwhelming as far as what they are capable of.

Does this guy like Nightwish. Because some of there songs are just as dark as this. You could argue that they are even darker.
