- Good afternoon @everyone , your buddy Big S wanted to talk to y'all about the Subspace Relay Building. IDK why, but he starts the video off. HOWEVER, after that we discuss this new style of event with a pretty squirrely, but intentional, scoring set up. Stuck in the middle with Q is here and let's break down what this could mean!

I would like PvP LOSSES to count instead of wins. It would be great to see people trying to out do each other with crappy crews in realtas trying to lose as many fights as possible. It would also be one of the rare occasions where the whales are disadvantaged

The event is dreadful. The hostile kills count for all systems, I have stuff I need to stock up on between the arcs which I can’t do at this point if my alliance wants to do well in this event.
Agree, the only time a lot of people have to do a lot of the crazy grinds, is at the weekend, and it punishes people for doing so.
That means you can grind whatever hostiles you like 😂
Others are going to be grinding as well, I really think the points will level out once people do their dailies and grind
Worst case, you get one free avatar/frame/HF. Grind all you like and find a friend to hit you with small ships. Not that complicated.
Rewards suck, play your game and ignore event
I like the event. Especially anything that requires thought and not just smashing buttons. HOWEVER, THE REWARDS ARE TRASH
The Q event definitely hampers anyone trying to rep grind especially if they either don't have ships big enough for pvp or if they just don't like doing pvp.
I like the” Stuck in the middle” event. It’s different and the rewards are such that you don’t really care if you win or lose. Sub space relay sale would be ok IF Scopely gave out a few as a gift. Making it pay only sux.
The main problem with the Q event is its basically a gift to small alliances. Not a big deal because the rewards suck but we have a 70 person alliance. We'd have to genocide the entire universe in PVP to get close to the middling numbers of a 20 person alliance.
Remember the scoring Rev talked about. Some are bringing low power ships and attacking higher ships… just to give them -5 points
An event that encourages us to not play. Genius.

They've had plenty of those lately.
Good April fools event, only really affects those that collect frames and avatars cos everyone gets 1 of 3 rewards minimum.
Just have to decide as alliance what you want.
Do other events definitely then later maybe exchange kills with allies to place.
Really is annoying stocking up things but even neg scoring counts for rewards(hopefully they've got that set right)
It would certainly be good if they gave a more regular free way of getting Subspace Relay components than participation in Incursions.
Appreciate events that tell me... go away... the event requires you not score (very high)... did my dailies... walking away for a day or two... bye bye... I do appreciate how Scopely is training the FOMO out of me... a few more events like this and I may just walk away forever...

I'm ok with the theory of the event but did they have to do it in conjunction with the APEX kill hostiles event? So for me, its just bad timing. They should have done it yesterday when it was APEX mining. I'm also not a fan of no communication about this event either. When I saw it, I was very confused about the scoring aspect and completely confused when I was killing APEX hostiles.
I enjoy the twist of the ALB event. Interesting to want to balance in the middle. Admittedly, it messes with daily hostile kill requirements, especially with no ability to plan. Since you don’t want to get too high a score. But the rewards are “mid” enough to not have a bunch of FOMO. So overall, good job 👍

I like that they are trying things new, but sadly this was not fully thought through, the PVP vanished immediately on my server and it has resulted in some alliance members getting irritated with others playing the game.
I like this style of event. It is something different to mix things up in the game.
Same alliances get top rewards, this is a change and actually I like the fact that some events should be changed like this. Spice up different events to make people think just a little bit instead of hammering away at the top spot.
Subspace Relay Packs - Hard pass, much fail.
Stuck in the middle with Q event - Great weekend to try something new, I like the potential of this event style to promote teamwork and strategy, even if the rewards for this particular one are bad.
Smart on Tribs part, cost -5 for your alliance
You know what, I like the stuck in the middle event. I like that it makes us think different, and aim for a different rank. I don't like that there is no reason for most peoples to try to PVP.. I would suggest Scopely add a -1 point for hostiles killed in the PVP systems to encourage players to go there for PVP chances to occur.. The other issue is the prizes offered are not giving me ANY incentive at all to try to get points... 3 cosmetics available for prizes... all I say is BLEH!!!
Love the idea. But scoring should be 1 point PVE, 1 point PVP win, -5 PVP loss.

Don’t like it. 1 - how easy would it have been to make it “Stuck in the middle with Hugh”? 2 - it punishes active alliances making them do pvp for a dumb avatar. 3 - Big S can sit on it and rotate with that “spend only to make up for our screw up” pack. Thanks for the video, Rev!
I too appreciate the pun and that the scoring matches the title. But it's just so weird without any communication on it.

Here's two things scopely can do for me. One scouts always drop messages. It sucks waiting 90 minutes only to get nothing
2. Reduce the attack range to 3 down and 3 up
The style is awesome and it is a great idea. It needs tweaking to make it a fight foe the center...or king of the hill.
Been thinking about this event. If its terrible its only cuz in a too powerful allliance. We decided #1 as we need to do our stuff. But at same time, we need events that favor small and less powerful players and alliances. The next iteration shud include sweet 3* rewards as helps a huge percentage, while normal grind and dailies hurt scoring for big groups. This is not bad as it helps lift or mid to low tier players. But only if rewards target their needs. These rewards are not even close as do not meet their needs. Change this, frustrate stronger players once a month, likely gain rather than lose as in my alliance, though many levels, all gain more from normal events than those that favor mid and lower
I think its a good idea IF u have an alternative way to get the negative points too! Cause if NO ONE goes to these systems for pvp then what? Ty for the video Rev Deuce an LLAP!

For the first time in a long time the whale alliance did not get the best rewards because our server refused to pvp them. This event scoring was great.
I do not have the Odo officer yet though!
Pity Scopely didn't account for negative scores when looking at My Alliance Members part of the leaderboard 😂. I disappeared and now my line shows as my alliance instead of me 🤔.
Love the event scoring and completely agree that the sale of incursion related materials and event rewards are ridiculous.
Its an intetesting variation. Agreeably has potential for small to mid alliance but in my server still tending to favor whales as they have greater capacity to manage scores. And only them wait for ships to appear. They can kill more in pvp for negative and if too low make up difference in hostiles.. i personally need to grind some specific mats. If i do, i hurt our team. If i do not i hurt myself
Nice way of an event - not always need world changing rewards. Ppl would have complaint either way 🤷🏻♂️😂
Rev, any update on the Mantis compensation for those of us that were foolish enough to buy the ship?
At this point I am thinking that compensation to us is never coming and was a lie by Eco like so many other things Eco has said. This is why in every player poll Rev has done in the new system I give communication the lowest grade. It does not matter how much they communicate things to the player base when even a single lie, half truth, or dodged question happens that is a failing grade end of story.
I think it’s good to try something different, opens up LB’s for other alliances… maybe 🤔 very dissatisfied with the lack of incursions sourcing, small event store would solve that with incursions tokens once a month for 3 days

Credit for trying something new. Maybe the meh rewards are because they want to see how it goes.
Hated that tied scores didn't end up in the same place. 3 different alliances had the same score but were placed 22, 23, and 24 on my server. Should have all tied for the same place with the same score.
This subspace relay pack thing is so sad. They can't fix a feature so they want us to pay them extra money because they can't fix it. I really hope no one bought those packs, but I know people did.
scopely has yet again found a way to bring the game to a grinding halt. just doing dailies is detrimental to my team unless we can find a big whack of dummies floating around the pvp systems.
Enjoyed the events attempt at trying something different, maybe the rewards should be better to promote play though.
I'm soo glad that I have a day off work where I wanted to grind mine azz off .. but hey .. if I do nothing .. I get Odo in a bucket. Or I get some big motherfather give me a repair bill . Thanks Scopely.. this sux

We fell into the 2nd tier while it was "retrieving" and were unable to move back to the top tier... 😞

A whoooole bunch of people are gonna be miffed they didn't read the fine print, hahaha. I'm actually stoked to see them trying something different this like. And LOVE the Q pun. But I'm like that. Heh.
If it only counted hostiles in those systems it would be fine, as it is tho it punishes players for playing the game especially when the set pvp systems are empty save for the people boosting and running at first sight of anyone else.

it's different and kinda fun, but the bigger alliances suffer (sadly I'm in one) it's great seeing the whale alliances having to struggle for once though 😂

After 3 tickets to Scopely, I am still stuck in Q Trials with no fix. Zero on the clock, but it shows I have a target, even though it isn't there anymore. Scopely has failed to fix my issue. I relocated 3 times, submitted 3 tickets, deleted and reinstalled the game, and it's still not working. Show a fix for that.
I love the idea! Problem is it needs to be announced. I got a week of barely playtime ahead so have to grind massively this weekend... Not that I care about he cosmetic tho lol, but some do
"all the rewards" aka a few cosmetics? HF, Frames, and Avatars don't cover the cost to try in the event. At least gotta throw some Trit in there to repair ships otherwise it is not worth trying. Also the scoring needs to be inverted. Having + points for hostiles and - Points for pvp means don't do your daily kills for 2 days to keep score low, then everyone kill hostiles in last few hours to land in 25th.
I wonder if the pack is there cause this weekend was to be an incursion event? and they forgot to take the pack out of the store
It would be ok, if there was anyone to shoot to get the score down. On 110 those PvP systems are completely deserted

Intrigued by the scoring metric but not worth the effort for the rewards. If scopley want me to engage with and organise my alliance for 2 days then I want a ton of mats and/resources.
For what's on offer I'll just do my dailies and Borg/jems
with the last video being about armada and this one starting about a pack, the ACC upgrade thingies, we need them in the multiphasic store. We need something in there making it worth participating in. It just seems like another abandoned piece of content that went no where.

so theoretically you could catch a big ship in a realta lockdown, if you had enough players, and reduce an alliance score to 0 if a big ship showed up to pvp.
I can’t wait for aprils fools and the biggest rewards go to # 1 as usual.
It's an interesting idea to allow the "little guys" to win something instead of the super whales flying out to G5 space and carrying their entire alliance.......now if the prizes were worth all the hoops to jump through.

My ship is getting + points against pvp and pve in listed systems. Must be a bad april fools joke.
The event would have been better if you could have used HF in the systems to lower your score as well as pvp.
It was just a get friends to kill low level ships to change scores. It was not fun.
I tried to tell my alliance to not care about it because the rewards were crap and no matter what we would get the epic HF no matter what.

I can appreciate the set up on the new event. It is a big departure from the norm which can be why so many are disgruntled.
The rewards are low enough to where it doesn't matter if you miss out. Which also helps.
Our Alliance won the top prize by literally not doing anything! 😂😅
i don't like it because i can't tell how much i am scoring. every ALB has ALLIANCE POINTS + what i scored. now it is +7, +17, +3... no rules. even when i do PvP and win it, i get +26 even if it says i should get -5. so i gave up yesterday, so is our alliance and all top alliances. scopely probably had good idea but implementation was awful and made players not to participate.
No incursions is fine with me. Think of a new type of event.
I'm not a big fan of this event. It has potential, but there are some problems. I am on the new server 96 and there is a big disparity in level ranges. For the PVP part, especially for our stronger players, there is simply not enough targets for PVP events. On top of that, the hostiles for the event are any hostile in any system and not limited to the hostiles in the PVP systems. Because of this, despite being in the top ranked alliance many of my teammates have said F it. They do not want to have to stop their game play for 2 days because every hostile they hunt adds a point and their are not enough PVP targets for the negative points to offset this. This would not be as bad if your score could drop into the negative points so the players who do have PVP targets could offset those who don't, but it is not set up that way. Because of this, my alliance will be stuck at a high rank with little to no chance for winning the top reward.
The big alliances just don't care about this event because the rewards are crap. Our alliance told everyone not to worry about it.
Nobody on my server is doing pvp at this time
The problem with the sub space relay bldg pack is that it is utter garbage compared to almost every other pack. It might be worth buying one initially, but after about lvl 16, the packs only gives you 1-2 levels, which is a awful value and improvement relative to most other enhancements. If you are buying the sub space relay pack after poo-pooing the mess hall and Ex-Borg packs, well, you might need work on your analytical reasoning skills.
No way am I going to ask our alliance to limit hostile grinding and there is no way we will have enough PVP kills to reduce the pts down. So the highest rewards will go to the low pop alliances.
MIGHT be useful if the rewards weren’t so lousy
Painful to run during an apex grind event
This game is starting to look like an ant hive with all sorts of things being added. Pretty soon you will need to play 30hrs per day to get everything done.
There's no point in saying something has potential. Scopley will either fuck it up or never do it again. That's what 4 years of experience says about this game
I'm liking the idea of this event, but the rewards are meh. This scoring gives power to the smaller players. They can hit the bigger players making them take the win in pvp and take the -5 points. Going to go rewatch your bad crew video from the other day for losing crew ideas.
Forget the pack subspace relays
Rewards are trash but scoring points for pve anywhere (essentially penalizing players/alliances for grinding) and then allow pvp into a handful of systems to offset the points scored by grinding it's a bad bad bad event. Make it balanced allow pvp anywhere because guess what there's no player ships in the pvp systems
Just yet another way for Scopely to discourage grinding advancement and encourage pay advancement. It's a BAD event.
This is a quit the game level of stupidity event. Also, there's not a soul on this planet that asked for a pack version of subspace relays. I have guys in my alliance with the exact same ships in the exact same research with the exact same level of officers, but they've almost 700k power on me because they got lucky during incursions... And there is no way to make up that gap without paying... And if they decide to pay, the gap still exists! Just horrifically stupid all the way around.
1. I have had a lot of people come to me personally asking for that pack, yes, they exist.

1) define "a lot." I don't know anybody on server 49 who has said "hey! We need this as a pack!, I really wish scopely would offer it so I could buy it!" It's a money grab because they're lazy and can't fix incursions.
2) I know that ship power doesn't mean anything. I said what I said because if the ship is the same tier, level and research nearly identical as well as the crews... Then the subspace relays matter. They should be able to be sourced. Or they should be able to run incursions. But instead they introduced a metric that for a few offered Great rewards and then pulled away stating they can't fix it. Talk about bait and switch.
3) you know a lot of people on 49. Ask them how many people are in the pvp zones currently. I'm one of the most active PVP people on our server at my level... Ops 39... Ain't nothing going on.
I'm not trying to get all mad about this... But I put thousands of hours into this thing. And this is a hopelessly stupid event, at least on my server because no one is participating. Team that is going to be the one that grinds the least.. which in turn is not beneficial last I checked.

The Event is Just for April fools. Sone shouldnt take it to Serious. I dont change my playing for it.
The supspace relay Packs on other hand are Just a insult to All Players
My guess is, that Jellyfish was aiming for the 13 Nausicaan Outlaw and targeted you instead. They probably don't have a shield up because they are online and didn't get the "you are about to attack a player" warning.
This event is terrible, taking the down time between arcs to punish grinding.... I am not going to even worry about it. I like that they are trying something new just not the right time or way to do it. I am honestly shocked that they did not do this during a faction hunt event.
I mean I don't see how it really affects grinding, the PVP side of things is system limited
@@RevDeuce When I kill 5 ships we need a PVP kill now if 30 members of the alliance do that you are not going to score low enough to get 25th place. Our server looks like nobody cares, scores have the normal alliances at the top (1st-7th) . Also poor rewards so if this is a test they should give out stuff people will care about that way people will play.
