My hometown. I grew up riding those trails/roads. I first did W101 in 1993 when it was more like a gravel race. I had to miss W101 this year though. Thanks for the recap -- fun to hear someone's first time on the course.

I just bought an EPIC 8 EVO frame over a BC40. Internal frame storage was the straw that broke the camel's back. Interesting to hear you say you missed that feature; feel validated in my decision making hah.
The epic 8 is the clear winner of best features. If you value any of the storage or steering stop type things then it’s a no brainer get the epic. If you don’t care about that the answer isn’t as clear.

Hey I have a question that maybe you guys can answer. I want to convert my hardtail into drop bars like you guys did. Do I need to replace my wheels (because of the freehub) and cassette too? Currently have a sram gx RD and 11spd cassette.
What’s the end goal with the drive train? The answer could be yes or no. Could be just a free hub swap
@@bicyclestation Just to convert the bike to drop bar. So drop handlebars and a 1x gravel groupset. The least amount of parts I have to swap/least amount of money I have to spend is the route I want
