Always thinking upgrading Bottom Bracket is not a simple task especially I am not a professional mechanic. That's why this video will show you that upgrading BB for beginner is not impossible. You can do it !!!
I am not replacing my Brompton BB with expensive one because I think original Brompton BB is still durable and inexpensive.
Please see my video for more details on installation and final look. Thanks for watching and happy Bromptoning,.
Slow and steady video with descriptive text ….. bravo 👍
Many thanks for your good word. Thank you.
At my first, included in the price ("free"!), service I asked my dealer to replace the original bottom bracket with a "Ceramic Ball", Titanium bottom bracket on my Lightweight. They are to be found in different sizes, but luckily I had bought the proper size for my bike.
Super thorough video!
Thank you for your encouragement. I hope I can share my unprofessional experience on making this wonderful bike better and better with all Brompton lovers around the world:)
How do the old ISO designed cranks work with the new JIS BB? No issues? I thought I would have to buy a new crankset.
So far no issue. Works fine.
Hi, can u do a video on removing the brake levers and the brake cable?
Many thanks.
Thanks for your recommendation. I will bear this in mind. In fact I found the braking system of original Brompton is quite reliable and yet to find any “Economical” replacement. Will keep searching.
@@kkllbaba yes I’m in the process of changing to external gears and my mechanic says the same - original Brompton brakes are the best
Nice and thanks
Thank you for your support.
An ordinary 1/2" rachet set wit a handle could also have been used for this.
This is not an upgrade. Should have changed to lightweight ceramic BB. Original BB weights 250 - 300g. Ceramic BB by Token, Ridea, H&H weight only 160g.
Thanks for your suggestion.
