As someone who plays a lot of Sombra, you definitely COULD hack Torbjorn's turret from stealth safely. That's a big advantage that wasn't mentioned.

Open que is so broken right now. I played with a friend who was in plat in ow1 now he’s silver in every role except he’s master in open que and I absolutely wreck him. Open que is causing players to forget how to play role.
Went against a team like that a few weeks ago.. Mostly all shields and I think maybe 2 healers and one was brig so they could have another shield. They rolled us.

I actually think that sym is a great sigma counter.
You build charge of shield, and go through his succ so his only defensive option against you is really just killing you which can be hard if you pressure him with another dps or your tank.
AND your turrets go through his shield, allowing extra dps on him even if you dont have charge.
Sym is a great counter for both sigma and genji

If you need to counter Pharah but suck at playing hitscan characters, (I'm terrible at playing Ashe or Soldier 76 😂) pick Echo. When you see Pharah use the Jump Jet, immediately use Flight to get close, and you can easily kill Pharah with Sticky Bomb + Focusing Beam.
As a torb main, I pretty much never lose against a genji. Turret plus overload shotgun for the win
in OW1 I found Hanzo to be the best Bastion counter. While in turret form you could one clip him with storm arrows or force him out of position with short peaks and arrows.
It's the same now as long as he isn't being healed and is say more than five metres away from cover. I can keep bastion shut down as long as I pursue good positions
Echo is also a good bastion counter if you are able to hit your lil bombs.

I would argue that Kiriko counters ashe. Out ranges headshots (with no movement speed reduction), cleanses dynamite (easily best ashe ability), and can easily dive and catch her off guard.

As a sojourn main when It comes to dps I believe she is a major counter to mei, as soon as mei goes in her little healing block I always throw a disruption orb on her right before she gets out so she starts taking damage immediately and makes her a really easy spray down 👍👍

Sym and Mei are better Genji counters than Cree
As a genji main, soldier can be easily countered with deflect and if he sprints away, you can dash at him
I would argue that sym is better counter
If you catch him with lower health and or rockets on cooldown

I found symmetra to be a great counter for genji, her primary fire cannot be deflected, and setting up defensive turrets are great bonus damage if he does get close, and also deterrent in general for him to push into you
Tracer can counter bastion really well because his hit box is like exactly the same as your weapon spread
and he cant escape da tracer bomb

Bastion is her best matchup honestly. Tracer basically CAN'T die to him.
For pharah I honestly wouldn’t recommend Ashe as much as the other hitscans bc as someone who plays Ashe often, pharah can just dive u and get in your face to get a quick kill especially on close-quarters maps like Nepal. Cass is probably the best counter to her overall but it’s generally a map specific matchup
Soujourn I found works really good against ball. You wait until they commit to the second dive then as soon as they drop in you railgun crit. Immediately puts him at half and while he tries to run you charge and get another railgun off. Even if you don't kill it's an easy way to turn for your team that leaves the enemy with a scared tank.
Personally I like Mei for Hog, wall and cube both blocks hook. The icicle also does so much damage so if you can get him away from his supports he's pretty weak without cooldowns
thoughts on junkrat v doom? Might be my low elo talking but the trap was very helpful for me. Also I've found torb helps me with soldier allot.
Symmettra is a big counter for alot of characters. Wish she was mentioned more. As a main I can Def encourage her play into many different comps and for quite a few different counters.
As much as I HATE Symmetra (mainly because the ones playing her are the first to go “ez”) you’re right. She’s great with a lot of comps and forces the enemy team to play a bit differently. She’s also ready on flank. I’d love her if her turrets didn’t melt straight through my entire team while we’re forced to beat up Winton
Genji onetrick, if you’re gonna counter a genji, I don’t recommend cass, in higher elo genji’s use deflect reactively and if there’s a cass, he gets priority, just counter with mei, I would say sym but she’s pretty squishy

As a brig main, I think that pharah counters her better than junk, because u cant hit her at all and your shield get destroyed really fast by her rockets. When you play brig against pharah u just wanna run away and avoid open spaces
I play brig a lot and honestly both feel like a super uphill battle to play against, the odds of you dying against random splash damage against both is pretty high and even though you teeeechnically can approach junk rat for a fight if you get into that melee range odds are he’ll just burst you down instantly
Symmetra, I've found is really good against Reinhardt and Brigitte because she can farm a level three beam off of their shields and then just annihilate them.
I'll add that I personally find symmetra to be a really good versus sigma too.
You can use his shield to charge up your beam relatively safely and surprise him with a fully charge beam (plus, he cannot absorb it!)
You can either use your turret to slow him down even more or you can use them to protect/distract the enemy dps players
bonus tip: sometimes, you can put a teleport near the enemy dps/supports to trick them into shooting it.
it can be just distracting enough to setup your turret or to finish chasing the tank.
Just remember to call it to your team so they know it's not a good teleport to use
(some people will see a teleport and use it without even checking where it goes, which is not great when you end up in the middle of a fight xD)
She’s can also farm beam off of mei wall.
Also genji. Ninja boi's number one move is to dive behind the tank, take out a healer or problematic DPS, and back out with his deflect. Syms turrets slow him down and syms beam goes right through deflect to confirm the kill. Just play a little more support help and you won't have a genji problem anymore.
Another counter for orisa is Mei she can dodge her ult and when she looks to push in with javelin spin you can wall her off from her team and her primary fire goes through her spin

You’re wrong about Torbs turret. Since OW2 launch, it no longer targets a hacking sombra, at all.
You can stand right in front of it and hack it. Wether it’s locked on to someone or not.
However Symmetra turrets will lock on to her
I think Junkrat is also a good pick for countering Mei. Mines in particular can launch you out of her ult, and you can leave traps and mines around her when she retreats into her ice block.
One interesting thing though is that mei can free herself and allies from junkrat traps using her ice wall, if she lifts a trapped target up on top of a wall it will instantly break the trap. overall though as someone who plays mei a lot yeah id agree, junkrat can be hard to play against because his burst damage is so high that a lot of times he can pseudo one shot you before you can react with ice block
Hanzo is a good counter for Reaper, but a better one is Soldier: 76 as he has a better range and can use sprint to run if Reaper is too close or to chase a Reaper after he uses wraith to escape. With a tracer counter, I recommend Kiriko as luck can easily 1 shot tracer, she can use cleanse to cancel bomb, and she can stall a tracer so she runs out of blinks. If times are you for Kiriko, she can teleport out.
a well played well-timed moria. going up against most classes with a healing orb at your side makes it game over for basically anyone!
in bronze i’m sure moria is the greatest but most players can hit shots when you climb ranks😂
I find pharah to be a good torb counter, you two tap his turret and can always be outside his effective range

for a lot of tanks, reaper is a good counter pick aswell. Since with reaper you can flank easily and kill the backline or fight the tank in the frontline with the stupid ammounts of healing.
Idk about the Pharah for Ramatra. I pick pharahs out the sky alot with his primary

I agree with most except for Pharah vs Sym. With smart turret placement and control of high ground with teleporter, I've never really felt the need to swap to handle a Pharah because you just take away her major advantage of being able to reach any location. Turrets are the best flank detectors in the game and they prevent all of her sneaky plays.
plus people vastly underestimate spamming her right click to harass Pharahs
Thanks I've become blind from playing to many heroes that I just didn't know how to counter apart from the obvious ones. I never would have picked Mei against Dva and played Symmetra instead or Reaper against Orisa. But I don't agree with Cassidy against Genji or Echo against Hanzo because it requires the enemy to be worse at that point you could just mirror them.
Ashe is great into torb, bastion, Anna, cuz lack of mobility and hit box but she really and I mean really struggles against genji kiriko for sure and potentially sombra Moira and tracer
I find Mei to counter bastion not the other way around Mei can almost always wall off the bastions attack mode and if not she can icecicle out of it
I agree. Having the icicle to fall back on to hide/heal also allows mei to easily land a few good long distance shots on bastion without worrying about dying.
My counters against Genji is Zarya, Symmetra and Moira. Their beam does not reflect.
Mei is a hood pick against reaper- her beam will force him into wrath and allow your team to kill him or him being forced to push back and get off the flank
Mei is also great against wrecking ball, because if you slow him, its over for him
Just be aware that if Rein knows the Bastion is there and has good communication, Rein will often wait turret out then resume the push while instructing his team to find cover to preserve shield. Experienced Reins do well in team-brawls too if they can catch the Bastion out of position. Bastion is a good counter but he has to play carefully.
Master Rein here. Even waiting out his form, it's not like Bastion has have insignificant amounts of damage out of form. more or less if the Bastion forms correctly, you will not have shield or at best a 1-300 HP shield. shield recharge time and cooldown for sentry form are similar enough that if the Bastion isn't outright killing you, he's still heavily restricting your movement. particularly on the aggressive side, going for pins w/o shield OR knowing Sentry can be up within 4 seconds is a death sentence unless your healers are ready to heal that massive damage output or you have good follow up positioning in sightlines.
TL:DR Rein's an amazing hero who still has counterplay against his counters, even in our best played matches Bastion heavily restricts your movement and carry potential.

A good Winston can shield dance and wreck Reaper. The constant lightning damage doesn't get healed off by the time he can shoot his way through the shield and if he pops wraith then Winston can jump after him.
There's a lot of factors with that, the biggest being player skill...
Since he has a big head, a long range character does well against him, maybe force him to pop his shield early so he will have to lose space. Pharah or Echo are honorable mentions, but I personally never feel very threatened by reapers when I'm Monke
Trust me, Winton's large ape-a*s gets wrecked 7 times outta 10 at least by good Reapers

As someone who mains orisa, if you try tracer make sure you dont get pinned by the javelin or youre screwed
Just a heads up for anyone who wants to play Junkrat against Brigitte. Brig can destroy your tyre by hitting it with her whipshot then shield bash
As a zen main i do think that tracer is not the worst of the counters, if you actually are grouped with other teammate you can easily do 120 to tracer with discord orb and a headshot and then when she is 30 hp she can either use recall or just die , and not to mention that if you headshot her and melee her you actually oneshot her, i would say that its not a counter matchup imo its a skill matchup , i would say that against sombra is pretty much the worst tipe of matchup, she just one shots you because you had an actual only shield hp bar, a huge hitbox and a 40% more dmg boost is actually imposible to be against unless you had a bap or a zarya in your team that can actually save you
As a main sigma, Mei is the BEST counter, the ice makes damage thru both "gravity and shield", besides making sigma even slower

Torbjorn is a very good pick against Kiriko imo, mostly cause of his ult
Hanzo is a better counter to bastion than genji.
Btw genjis, dont jump infront of bastions with deflect it only works in bronze. Get close range to them and dance around them spamming right click and wall jumps. Move unpredictably and make him play with 1000000 edpi. Deflect can save you but dont rely on it to kill the bastion.

Ngl Symmetra counters everything with a shield that isn’t a dive. Just stick with your team and charge your beam on the Rein/Sigma/Brig shield, and you’ve got pretty easy pickings on everyone unless there’s a really good Genji, Tracer or Widowmaker

I like using Mei against Rein.. Allows for an easy wall off kill if the whole team punishes him quickly
My personal recommendation for Sigma counter is Mei, He can't absorb the primary fire and it puts pressure on him to back away so you team can get a bit more aggressive.
Was not cooking on the Sigma take, only bonus to picking Cassidy against a Sigma is you can use your ult when Sigma uses his. All other damage gets blocked
Some of them only work in gold-plat, like echo/hanzo, genji/cass etc…
I use mei to deal with gengis. Works everytime
As a zarya player, I’ve noticed that sojourn isn’t the counter but instead Zen with discord counters Zarya

I would argue that genji is a better counter to ana than widow - he's fast and tends to constantly be jumping around, making him hard to hit with a sleep dart or a shot from the rifle. And he can reflect sleep darts. Widow vs ana is only slightly tilted to benefit widow, since if she doesn't get a one shot kill the ana can heal and ana has just as far of a range as the widow, even if it takes ana 3 bodyshots to kill while the widow only has to land one headshot. I enjoy fighting widows as ana because it's fun. I hate dealing with genji.
But I only have like 60 hours in the game, so don't take me too seriously.

Symmetra would be a better counter, obviously with healing. She can ramp beam on shield and put way more pressure on him. Rein vs Reaper is probably a skill based 1v1

@@AloneInTheDork First: Sombra doesn't need to go always for the kill. She disrupt, distract, draw attenzione better than any other heroes. Also because, also vs hacked opponents, her dps is not that much (about 175 dps iirc). Second: I was just pointing that saying Torb's turret stays hacked for 1,5 sec is incorrect.

as a reaper main, hanzo is pretty easy to get rid of. pharah is the real counter, you can only get her if she han no mercy and catch her of guard, but if you are ok with pharah and they have an reaper just fokus him and he will switch

I main sombra and I'd say sombra is a lot more of a counter to torb than he is to sombra lmao. I can literally just hack his turret every time he places it so his team gets no value from it lol.

If u can aim very well as Hanzo, he can 1 shot pretty much most heroes.
Situationally reaper isn't really a counter for Winston. He can't really keep up. Best thing he can do is keep him moving or play with his support.
