Lol...love that you kept the tongue twister in the video. Great review...I'm more of a trail rider than bike packer at this point and have been considering a Revel for my next rig. Thx for the review...and the chuckle. 😊
At 5'9" myself, I understand your sizing dilemma. Size medium bikes are a little too small and size large bikes are little too big. I always buy the size large bike, install a 35mm stem, and push the saddle foward. I prefer the increased stability of the longer wheelbase. Modern trailbikes pedal so well that I wouldn't have any problems using a long travel trailbike as a bikepacking bike as long as the bike isn't too heavy. With the right tires any bike can roll fast.
The kinematics of the canfield linkage is the best I've ridden. Works great in long travel and short travel bikes. I've heard rumors of Dave Weagle(dw link) developing new.
When is he not developing something new. I do enjoy DW Link and Split Pivot, but this is certainly better. Now if we can have an Extra Medium or adjust sizing, this might be the perfect bike.
Are you asking what short travel dropper I would use? I was pretty happy with the 180 wolftooth dropper. So if you want something shorter they have good options.

I've had a Rascal V1 and currently have a Rail29. Definitely a couple of my favorite bikes ever. Absolutely amazing suspension performance.

8:57 Can you repeat that? Didn't catch you there.
The coffee has a mind of its own. 😂
I want that bike.
What short travel dropper post do you use on the bike?
