Try your best to get into research on campus. It's a great way to expand your network and get to know industry people. As for job prospects, I am in the process of getting an internship so I'm in the grind lol. But I do know a lot of international students do end up getting a job. Since CS is still a sought after major companies do hire international students. But just that the number of available options is 25% less for international students than US local students.

i have you can apply to computer science if you have commerce. Just that you should have math in 12th ,(not applied math). also you have to check if you get visa extension if you take BA computer science,
I think IT and CS might be different since CS is very much programming oriented whereas IT is more theoretical knowledge of computing. But I don't have much experience in IT so not sure...

Computer science is 90% maths and you'll learn basic programming syntax. And understand all the core things about data structures algorithms
