      @@ElevationLowJJ im sorry to be extremely blunt but there's no proof of god or even the existence of jesus, but there's proof of buddha's existence and reasons for his teaching's truth, respectively. But yes, i do believe that practice of god may help you become a better human being than a materialist. If you must know, even you are a buddha.

      Thanks for your feedback, Nikki. We were trying to keep this overview video short (under 3 minutes) so we know that there's a great deal of detail missing. RAlthough all are based on Indian texts, each Tibetan tradition has its own commentarial literature. Hence, the sect to which a nun belongs determines which texts and commentaries she studies. As Dolma Ling seeks to be a non-sectarian institution, the decision regarding which texts to study was not an easy one. The top class at Dolma Ling advances to the level of Madhyamika studies (called "Uma" in Tibetan). Madhyamika is a very subtle and difficult subject, forming the heart of the Tibetan philosophical tradition and is traditionally studied for at least three years. Upon consultation with numerous teachers including H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama, the nuns study the classical Indian texts, the source of all Tibetan expositions. The primary texts are works by the great seventh century Indian master, Candrakirti. Outside of their formal classroom instruction, the nuns may study commentaries from any tradition that they wish. Regarding why the nuns practice debate, we have a great video primer on on this. See th-cam.com/video/ST-vED730gk/w-d-xo.html Monastic debate is of critical importance in traditional Tibetan Buddhist learning. Through debate, nuns test and consolidate their classroom learning.

    • @TibetanNunsProject
      @TibetanNunsProject  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks, Sheila. The nuns rise early and do their own personal practice in their rooms before chores, classes, and so on. When they perform pujas and chanting, this is also a form of meditation. Many nuns do walking meditation morning and evening, when they do “kora”, circumanbulating the nunnery in a clockwise direction, softly chanting prayers and using their malas (prayer beads).

      @@sahanabiswas12 intermittent fasting is mostly not healthy for women. And, with the access all monastics have to land, I don’t understand why don’t they all grow food, for themselves and for the community around.
      Maybe the nuns grow the food, that would be why they don’t depend on begging for it? I don’t know

    Tibetan refugee nuns in india are good but most tibetan cultural monks and nuns are nonveg alcoholic married and living luxury life. This kind of bad buddhism is made by their kings in lhasa tibet state of China. Buddha said if you don't have any food to eat then you can eat meat. They are like a leader of our society they must be pureveg and live in simple life without any violence. This comment is from the land of buddha lumbini nepal.
