I really wish there was a "breakout" Black Metal band from Germany. I would argue there really hasn't been one. What I mean by "breakout" is the recognition factor. Meaning, can casual BM fans instantly associate a BM band as being from Germany?

You know when you listen to a Black Metal band from Sweden like Dissection, Lord Belial, Unanimated, Sacramentum, Naglfar, you can already recognize it it’s from Sweden because the Swedish Black Metal bands had always a melodic part in this music but every band have their own marks and that’s why we can all recognize them because they’re all different even if they’re making the same kind of music.

Ellende is from Austria if I remember correctly. And Agathodaimon only did Blackmetal in their demo days, imho.
