I use chicken bones as fertilizer for my roses. Along with egg shells. I dry them, pound them up with a mallet until they’re fine and mix them with my soil. My Nonna always did it and now I do and I always have beautiful roses and it really helps with my tomato garden as well.

I use coffee and egg shells for whenever there's an ant problem, little buggers hate it. Haven't tried chicken bones because I'm scared my dogs would try to unearth it at night but will try it on the balcony now where they don't sleep

@@alondraperez-ramirez8363 That’s a good idea too! I use cinnamon to keep ants away. I also use peppermint oil. I don’t like to use chemicals so I’m always looking for natural ways to keep insects away. I also plant marigolds around the perimeter of my garden to keep rabbits away.

Your explanation really sheds light on how bread was transported. In the 50's French people did that and it looked very unsanitary (still do? with baguettes?). If I can get the mould I'll try your recipe. Cheers.

Your videos are so interesting! I like the recipe for making Valentine Sandwiches, and your history lesson about why the crusts were cut off of the bread! Thank you for this very charming bit of history! Stay safe, and God bless! ~Janet in Canada

Got a flashback when you mentioned feeding the crust to domestic animals because my grandpa used to give his dog the crust after he sliced it off. Now I know why he did that :)
