Good news, bad news... needed to replace the battery and jewelry store wanted $75. This video seemed like easy instructions to remove back cover on my Movado. Followed video and back popped right off. Now the bad news... even with the micro fiber cloth, the little pressure from my palm to the side of the watch caused the adjustment knob to break off the adjustment stem. More expensive fix than the battery. Should just had jeweler replace battery.
Water resistance can be secured by lubing the gasket and inspecting for any damages to it. If it looks good and is properly lubed you wont have any issues. I follow the same principle
Look for “AC” on the back and use that as point A and the bare metal on the back as point B. Do that a few times for it to register. If that doesnt work, remove the battery and install it again a few times for it to reset. Hope that helps.
I've been trying to replace the batteries in my Movado Museum watch for a year. I've taken it to professionals and even they can't seem to get it open. One even scratched the back a bit. I've been replacing watch batteries since I was a child and have never had this issue in my entire life. Do I need a specific tool? Because nothing I have used to far has worked and I really don't want to scratch this thing up. I just want to be able to wear my watch!! 😢
It would be good if you could lift the watch up when you have the back off. I like to see the level of movement the different watch brands use. If it's a miyota or tmi or sometimes a swiss brand.
If you paid over $1,000+ for your Movado, take it to a shop... All Movado once opened needs a new gasket, just a heads up😊.. I love Movados.. just no Bolds please 😂
I don't subscribe to that thought process because I don't swim or get close to water. I have 6 Movados and only had an issue with this once because I went into the ocean with my new Movado by accident and it created a really nice halo effect inside but .... warranty covered it. Ever since then....I stay away from water. I say it's not worth 200 + dollars to do that service if you aren't getting into water situations.
It looks like you did not know there is a notch along the rear watch cover for the removal tool to flip the case open, yor method is dangerous, some may use a knife the way you do it.
I can assure you there is no lip on these watches. I've been trying to get mine open for a year, and multiple professionals have tried as well. I'm literally in the process of ordering a Burgeon knife because nothing else I have tried has worked so far. I've never encountered something so bizarre in my life before lol!
Bro, I was able to open my watch in less than 10 seconds using your method. You just gained a new subscriber. Thank you!
Thanks so much
Genius…struggled for 15 minutes and then found this video. Poof…done. Thank you so much
Well done! I was sweating over how to get cover off without scratching it, and that worked perfectly!
Glad you got there, I changed by Museum battery but had to take it to a jeweler to get the back put in place.
I have a case knife and have been using it wrong - this method finally got my Movado watch's back off. Thank you!!
Your way is the best and only way to open the back...thank you
I thank you my good friend
Thanks for the video. I tried to find a spot to open the back. Your method did the trick!
What an absolute hero!!!
What kind of knife are you using to open the back with? Also what is the name of this clamp?
thanx this method worked on my movado watch😁
Worked perfectly, thanks!
One of the best! Thanks a bunch.
Great video with excellent tips. Thank you!

Thank you for the easy way. I put a few scratches on it before this video
What is the PartNumber of the Clamp tool that you used to snap the battery cover back? Do you know where I can buy it as well?
I’d like to know as well. Please share.
You guys gotta learn how to research without depending on anyone. Just google watch case clamp. Pretty sure you’ll find what you are looking for.
Thanks! What type of battery does it use?
364
@watchbatteryguy7421, in the video, you said 395. Now, I'm confused.
thank you for this man
You are welcome buddy
Does the water resistance stay using your method? Thank you

What size battery does it take?
great video! thank you so much!
What are the contact points after battery replacement for the Movado Bold Touch Digital watch ?
Look for “AC” on the back and use that as point A and the bare metal on the back as point B. Do that a few times for it to register. If that doesnt work, remove the battery and install it again a few times for it to reset. Hope that helps.
Why are you doing it on watch that is different from Thumbnail?
Wow made it look easy , I’ll check to see if you have a video on the invites..👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Its more technique than anything else. You ll have to find the spot where it opens from. Cover the back case with masking tape to avoid scratches
Will the time piece still be water resistant after doing this?
If the gasket is not damaged and in where it is supposed to be, then Yes

there seems to be an obvious lip under a lug
