I just watched your "Making a Newsletter in Pages" video and also downloaded a copy of your Mac OS cheat sheet. I think a good topic for your next tutorial would be "How to Make a Cheat Sheet". This would be really useful for people using various software products (especially "open source" efforts) that don't come with their own. They could also customize them to skip the items they know (I sorta got the cut/copy/paste keys down...) and add the more advanced/less often used keys they can't always remember. I know you could just publish whatever template you use for the OS ones, but "better to teach a man to fish"...

Hello, is there a way to have two different colors for tracking? How can I change that?
I am trying to see the comments of what my teacher wrote for my essay however I cannot see what she is referring to so this is really confusing as all the comments are in one large box on the right side of the screen so what should i do?
If your name was not set properly before making comments, is it possible to change your name after the comment and change has been submitted? I know about changing the name in the preferences, but I cannot get it to apply to the existing comments.
Never tried it. I guess if it doesn't update the existing comments then you have your answer.
Thanks Gary. What if i was not tracking changes and I just want to look at the history of any edits on the document itself? Thank you 🙏
You'd need to track changes for that. You can see the history of SAVES in File, Revert. But be careful not to revert to a past version and throw away recent additions. But for actual changes, you'd need to be editing in this mode.
@@macmost thank you Gary. Question, i have a pages document and I inserted a table in it and I have some numbers that I've input in the table however, the changes I'm making on the table are not showing i.e the comments & changes still shows 0. How come? - And yep, I turned on tracking. Thanks

I got my sceenplay notes with a guy I'm collaborating with using Change Tracking. Once I correct them, how do I change the format to an fdx file so I can import into my screenplay program on my mac? Thank you for your help.

Sorry, I don't know that format. I would check with the maker of that app you are using to figure out the best way to import.
Hi Gary, thanks a ton for your videos. I have a question which is nowadays I’m writing my research paper 📑 for my graduation and in these papers you should start the paper using latin numbers and then using the ordinary numbers, how can I do that 😢🥲? P.S I’m using Pages for Ipad.
Just do it manually then, placing any letter or number you want before each paragraph.
@@macmost I see your point, but I mean the whole page not just the paragraph first page should be written in Latin 🫣

Happy New Year! My friend sent me a google doc. I can't read the comments she said she put in it. I tried reading it in google docs, then downloaded it and opened it in Pages -- no luck on either. Any ideas on what might work?
Reading it in Google Docs online should show you 100% of everything in the document. So maybe there was a problem on her end?

Hi Gary Just came across this late video. Is there a way to hide selected text as you can with WORD in Pages? An accordingly, can you then choose to wither print or not print the Hidden text?
Hidden text? I don't think Pages has anything like that. You can do comments and notes and then choose to not print them. Maybe that is what you want?
@@macmost Um, no, I was wishing to have one document that has sections that I want to be able to read and sections that another person needs to read, but I don't want them to read or see my answers, so the check box of "print hidden text" is a good way of not printing stuff in the same document. I guess I could go through and make those sections WHITE text or font colour, but doing that is a lot more labour intensive than clicking a check box at the print stage. Thanks anyway Gary, I appreciate you getting back to me as I'm still learning Mac Pages.

Does change tracking work in text boxes? It doesn't for me, and when I google, I read someone saying that change tracking has *never* worked in text boxes. Is that true?
I just tried it in the latest Pages and it worked for me.

You have to turn on charge tracking to do that. That's what I'm talking about in the video.
