In the comments below, put a key, a tempo, and a sound from one of the instruments on the Akai MPC Key 61 and I will look through and try to pick some for upcoming live sessions!
I no you have a video on saving the song after you record it, I tried that and I can't find the song once I turn the mpc 61 off I can only find the name of the song
Love your videos! A question please. You recorded an 8 bar loop. What I haven't seen is how to combine multiple loops to create a whole song. Could you explain the process or better yet, create a video showing the process? Thank you SO much for these priceless learning videos. You rock!
Didn’t like the drums but the melody and chords were really nice 👍🏾 good job showing how simple it is to create on the mpc key 61 👊🏾 I Lov mines as well!🤣
Haha me neither, but with five minutes on the clock there wasn’t time for a redo! 😂 I guess that’s the fun with this sort of a challenge. You learn what works and what doesn’t do you can adjust the next time around!
@@DSoundman No you did great, and only 5mins that's really awesome.. We should do a collab sometime... No pressure just a thought! No worries either way. Hope you have a great Labor Day weekend🤣
I just bought a Casio CT-636. I can't figure out how to use the sequencer like this one, so I just play the demo song from time to time and that seems to do the trick.
Thanks! I don’t actually set the key, I just play in the key I pick in my head! 😂 You can transpose the keyboard though from the Keyboard Control menu (there’s a button on the right side of the panel to access that)
Hello, Did you set the number of bars first? Is there a way to simply begin playing, and the sequencer just follows until you stop creating the necessary number of bars on the fly? Thanks so much for all of your terrific videos. You're a heck of a player too!
Put some nylon guitar in it or some saxophone please.can you use drum kit in the keys not on pads as other keyboards do in this keyboard.i own a Yamaha Genos and a tyros so I'm trying to find different brands of keyboards that's different to Yamaha's and good keyboards my choices are Roland or Akai MPC or a korg so I'm trying to find what's good out there.yamaha instruments on a keyboard are real sounds so if other keyboards live up to this but other keyboards have different things as Yamaha like good recording quality or built in daw so there's different things and some keyboards don't sounds real instruments built in so it's hard to pick a good keyboard because all keyboards are very expensive which people don't have money for but all qualities should be built in to a keyboard like sequencer daw arranger and good recording studio in it
Yes, the sounds are built in, but there aren't a lot of good horn/woodwind sounds at the moment....I'm hoping Akai adds an instrument to address that like they have with the Studio Strings. In regards to your question about playing drums on the keyboard, yes you can.
Another person asked specifically if you could do the drums using the keys and although you responded to him, you literally glossed over that specific question he asked. I'd like to know as well. So hopefully you'll answer this..... Can you trigger any drums or samples that's on the pads by using the keys?
Sorry, I missed that question among the rest of his comment, but yes, no problem playing the drums on the keys in most instances. The drum pads trigger notes in the same way the keys do. If you notice in some of the videos as I play, the pads are lighting up as well because of the fact that the same note is assigned to those drum pads. In some instances it depends on the mode you're in and the midi channels that the drum pads and keys are set to. For example, if your keybed is set to MIDI channel 1 and your drum pads are set to MIDI channel 10 and your drum program track is set to MIDI channel 10, then the keys would not trigger the drums because they are set to a different MIDI channel. Most of the time though, unless you specifically separate them, they will both trigger the same note and channel, so long story short, yes, you can play the drums on the keys.
@@DSoundman thank you for the quick response. You definitely responded to the other person's question. You just didn't answer what he asked but this helps. I would love to see you load a tutorial on how to do this. Seeing it would help me and others decide if to get this or not. AND you'll have another video that would garner you more views/followers because NO ONE has that specific tutorial uploaded. Not even Akai/Andy Mac.
I was just doing a sequence, but couldn't find a way to have the Timing Correct On for 1 track, but Off for another. Is it possible? If not, it's a major oversight. I see the All Tracks highlighted, but how do I get it off All Tracks? I tried it set to Off in track 1 for piano, and On for drums on track 2, but it's either on or off for Both when all is said and done.

Love this kind of videos. Nice camera work too. Would love it if you could do something in F minor next time, maybe try the nylon string guitar 💯🙏
Thanks man! Good idea! Someone else suggested the nylon string guitar as well!
Nice 💥💥

Please show me more step by step how to program or to record hymnal step by step am new to this please help me thank you very much.😊
What about some mallet percussion, like vibes or balafon?
Great idea......Accordion, 3/4 time, BPM around 140, style, folk music
Hi ,,,great video ,,,very informative ,,,prob a basic question but ,,,how do you set the key please ,,,thank you 🙏

Sounds great! You might have to assist Benn Jordan, who says this workstation is unusable.
RIGHT! Bens video stirred up so much hate… I’ve not had any bugs at all with my key61
❤
Hi do you have a piano sound quieter than other plugins too? How to fix it?
Weird question but can you measure the dimensions of the board? Can't find these anywhere. Thanks
Hey! I found it in the manual: 38.8” x 12.3” x 3.8” and 17.9 lbs.
@@DSoundman thanks so much! helps me find a space, order a new power conditioner, stand and amp

I like that idea! I'll try to do some with more acoustic sounds and less of the typical MPC beat vibe.
