Super Junior-M is one of the 5 sub-units of the legendary Kpop group Super Junior. They are the Chinese sub-unit who produces songs in Mandarin and promotes in China. (Thank you for reacting to the Chinese version of their song this time, because even though they have a Korean and a Chinese version of most of their songs, the Chinese version is a better representation of them as a group.)
Super Junior as a whole are legends in the industry and they have paved the way for almost everything you see in the Kpop industry today. They set the standard for how Kpop is promoted around the world. They are also the first group to have serious roles in all the other entertainment industries -- setting the standard on how a Kpop star branches out into all parts of the industry. They are not only singers and dancers but members are musicians, composers, songwriters, lyricists, music and video producers, TV and movie actors, stage actors, models, radio DJs/ hosts, variety show hosts/MCs, authors, etc. Pretty much anything we think of as a standard part of the Kpop industry was created because of them. They were the first Kpop group to have non-Korean members, the first group to have dedicated sub-units and the first Kpop group to have a sub-unit that focused on producing songs in Mandarin for the Chinese audience.
When Super Junior first debuted on Nov 6, 2005, they had 12 members, but 6 months later Kyuhyun was added to the group to officially make them a 13 member group.
Then in 2008, SM created the industry's very first Mandarin Chinese sub-unit designed to bring Kpop to the Chinese market and they added 2 new members to Super Junior (Zhoumi and Henry) and Super Junior officially became a 15 member group.
However, when SM announced the addition of Henry and Zhoumi and the creation of Super Junior-M, Korean fans protested the fact that SM wanted to add more members to the group. So, SM agree to only make Henry and Zhoumi members of Super Junior's Mandarin sub-unit (they needed more Chinese members to make the Chinese sub-unit work), and they were not allowed to be included in anything to do with the main group of Super Junior. So, Super Junior became a 13 member group + 2 (Super Junior-M) members.
"Break Down" is the title track on Super Junior-M's second studio album which was released in 2013. Super Junior-M currently has 8 members: Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Zhoumi, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun and Henry.
All the members are Korean except Zhoumi and Henry. Zhoumi is native Chinese and Henry is Chinese/Taiwanese-Canadian. So everyone in Super Junior-M was put through an intense training process to help them prepare to debut in China, which included all of the Korean members learning Mandarin so they would be able to communicate and interact during interviews and on variety shows in China. In 2010 Super Junior-M was sent off to Taiwan for a "long stay" where they lived and worked for a couple of months. This was part of SM's strategy to get the members used to the culture, to allow their Chinese fans to get to know them more and to force the members to really learn Mandarin, etc. As you can see, they all got pretty good at speaking Mandarin when they were active in China. Super Junior-M is actually the very first Kpop group to trend in China and they are the ones credited with creating China's billboard music charts, etc.
Please check out more of Super Junior-M's songs, they are criminally underrated as a group. You should also check out some of Henry's and Zhoumi's solo work.
Zhoumi released a new song "I'll Be There" in 2020 with SM, and more specifically, under Super Junior's label -- Label SJ -- and it features Kun and Xiaojun from WayV, another SM Chinese sub-unit group, who are juniors to Super Junior. And, even more exciting, is the fact that, for the first time in a long time, Zhoumi was back in Korea and he actually worked with Super Junior again. Zhoumi and Ryeowook (one of SuJu's main vocalists and a member of Super Junior-M) released a new song in 2020 called "Starry Night" and it has a Korean and Chinese version. Zhoumi is an actor, model, author, lyricist and songwriter/producer, etc. If it wasn't for all the political issues between the Chinese and Korean government he probably would have been in Korea working with Super Junior this whole time. But because he is only a member of Super Junior-M and they aren't active right now because they are unable to promote in China, Zhoumi has been focusing on his solo career in China.
In 2018 Henry left SM Entertainment when his contract was up after 10 years to start his own independent company called Monster Entertainment Group. He is classically trained in violin and piano since the age of 6 and he can play almost any instrument. He really is a music genius. He is a very accomplished music producer. He has wrote, composed and produced all his own solo work, as well as numerous songs for other artists -- including songs for Super Junior-M -- and Korean- and Chinese-drama and movie OSTs (Original Soundtrack songs). One of Henry's last solo song releases under SM is called "Monster," which is one of my favorite songs from 2018. He has an English version of "Monster" MV, a Chinese "Monster" MV and a Korean audio only version of "Monster."
Henry's most recent album Journey with his song "Radio" was released in 2020. It also has an English, Korean and Mandarin version. Check out the Korean version MV. But what you really need to see is a live performance of "Radio." Not only is he a musician, but he is a true performer, so all his live performances are designed to engage and entertain the audiences, and he never performs a song the same way twice. To hear the song in Mandarin, check out this performance from a Chinese award show, th-cam.com/video/KbdBxPBmXKM/w-d-xo.html; or to hear Henry's one-man-band solo version live on a Korean music program check out, th-cam.com/video/Gto4SxuNrwY/w-d-xo.html; or to see a 4 cello and rock guitar version check out, th-cam.com/video/oYl9KKMqGZc/w-d-xo.html; or for an acoustic version check out, th-cam.com/video/Ek7Z8_bwntk/w-d-xo.html. (LOL, as I said, he is constantly reinventing his performances. :D)

Ok so..yup, they r a sub-unit of d original full grp Super Junior..M means Mandarin bcoz they r d unit that sings kn Mandarin & promoted in China mostly ..Super Junior iscelebrating their 17 yrs this yr..this unit is 14 yrs..tho sadly, they haven't been active since 2015..but d whole grp SJ, other sub-units & solos r filly active as u probably saw Callin' (I saw u reacted to it) their latest comeback as a full grp jst this Feb. 28th.. They r a living legends not jst in d kpop inudstry but in s whole entertainment industry in korea.. They r named as d Kings of Hallyu Wave coz they introduced kpop around d world mainly of their biggest & 1 of d most legendary hits, "Sorry, Sorry" in 2009.. So in that note, they r way seniors to bts, so they sure have their own style & all even bfore bts cane to b.. I dnt know what tyle of slund u r fond of sk I dnt know what exactly to recommend but I'd suggest probably d most popular ones amongst d songs being suggested & a bit more recent.. Jsts o u know tho, they have suler wide-range of music.. In their latter half, they mostpy do "challenge genre concept".. But if u get to see & listen to them neough, u'll know they still have their distinct sound to them..but what's alwys given is that they r alwys fun esp if u know them as personalities..they r even knkwn as d Variety Show kings.. Other conpanies were inspired to train their idols in kthr entertainment acts outside lrforming bcoz lf rhem..coz of hlw successful personalities they r..few examples of their shows, Knowing Bros - Heechul & Shindong, Weekly Idol - Eunhyuk, I Can See Your Voice - Leeteuk..btwz in Super Junior-M, there r 2 exclusive members added to d few original members to form d unit..Henry & Zhoumi.. At present. SJ (whole grp) active members r: Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Shindkng, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun (in age order)...there r 3 ex-members & 1 inactive member msking d original grp of 13..if u add, Henry & Zhoumi, they were 15 at their peak..
    Suggestions:
    - 2ya2yao (MV) 2020
    - Mamacita (MV) 2014
    - Black Suit (MV) 2017
    - Lo Sieto (MV) 2018
for sub-units Super Junior D&E is d most modern & they r d oerformance/ danve unit so most young ppl relate to their sound
    - Bout You (MV) 2018
    - No Love (MV) 2020
    Thank u so much! Tc!
