Going down memory lane. Saw the neon video first. I made them for many years and still do every once in a while. It was very good. I also made lots of florescent signs when I was young. Boy do I remember those dimpled tubes. Can't remember the catchy name they had. Got a laugh out of how we are watching this. LCD, CRTs are long gone now. I know this is 1990ish. I hope you are well. I see no action on this 'channel' for a few year.
The dimpled tubes were made by General Electric, branded as “Power Groove” lamps. Being T17 they were much larger in diameter than traditional T12 HO/VHO lamps, but the dimples in the tube bent and squeezed the arc, creating a higher light output. That and they looked very cool! Shame they’re not made anymore.
