Worked for PREVUE Technical Operations (and Tech Support Cust. Svce) in Tulsa @ 71st & Lewis Ave. from about 1993-ish until 1999. Watching this brings back both mostly excellent memories and a few depressing ones. We had such a GREAT crew back then. All HELL would break loose if it went dark on the top portion of the screen. Every Daylight Saving Time change was a nightmare twice a year. It had to be done 'basically' manually in the middle of the night. And all those Amiga boxes out there. Funtimes!!
Was it hell when TV Guide bought you guys out? Or I’m guessing they bought you out anyway. That’s pretty awesome you worked there btw this is nostalgia as a kid I can remember if I didn’t have the paper guide in front of me this is what I would go to automatically.
Nice & clear quality, depending on the year when I watch these it always takes me back on where I was and what I was doing this was 1998 so I was in the 6th & 7th grades 👍👍
More Prevue footages during the 4th of July! Even includes "All That" on Prevue Family, "Mad TV" on Prevue This and 1997 films like "Alien: Resurrection", "Kiss The Girls", "Gattaca" and "For Richer or Poorer".
With regards to WWJ, it did not have a news department for most of its history. It only produced news for two periods: between 2001 and December 2002 when it aired an 11 pm newscast produced by WKBD, and between 2009 and 2012 when it produced a morning news show in conjunction with WWJ radio. The station did not resume newscasts until January 2023 when it began a full news department.
Detroit market! That’s where I was/am too. The channel lineup tells me the customer had either Media One or Comcast (I don’t quite remember when Comcast bought out Media One and gained an almost total monopoly in the Metro area).

This is the Detroit Michigan metro area - more notably Howell, based on the weather "commercial" over the guide.
