    Are you basically reducing 2-5's to just 5's and applying the "6th on the 5th" rules everywhere it isn't detrimental to the melody?

    Inverting chords can also help in understanding chord progressions.

      @@PremRosh Each member(note) of a chord has a function. Deciding which goes in the Bass line can affect the progression.

    Not sure if this is interest to anyone, but I'll share it anyway... :-D You may be on the right track about the explanation linked to accordion re: writing IV instead of minor II. The "bass/chord side" goes in circle of fourths/fifths, so you always get the IV and V chords next to the I chord. Then it is just case of playing the bass note form slightly more "difficult" position, if you want to be "fancy" and play it as "minor II". And the same goes for minor IV/dim II. Anyway, I am not "full time" accordion player... Great video, by the way. :-)
