I’m so glad that I found your channel, you don’t waste time getting to the point of the video and your knowledge is incredible. You’ve helped me on so many things. I have hard water and I never thought that it could be such an issue with my plants. Thank you so much. Too bad that a water softener treatment is so expensive . Best wishes and a good life to you.
Thank you. You just confirmed what I was suspecting for a while and I did root modification and soil replacement on one of my potted grape vines. Root ball was so compacted that water could not reach to roots, even there was a swamp condition under and around root ball. 10 days later new leaves are healthy and beautiful, and damaged leaves I am removing gradually, few each day.
Well explained .I potted one rose plant I purchasd from nursery and the red clay soil was very thickly attached to the roots which I did not remove out of fear of damaging the roots. I printed the branch containing two fully grown roses and one branch containing four rose buds . I did this to stop leaves browsing, fungul infection etc .Removed the fungal infected leaves slsi . The plant is showing some signs of recovery now, hoping for the best .
I’ve also noticed that dying tips happen to my corn plant when it is too close to the wall. Any leaf that touches the wall too long tends to turn brown at the tip. I clip it off and move it off the wall a bit.
The lack of air movement by the wall prevents transpiration. The plant cannot get Ca and other immobile nutrients to the farthest parts of the foliage without water transpiration.
I had a similar situation with my roses, we had terrible summer this year and the temperature rose up to 48 degrees! Most of my roses had brown leaves and I started watering them twice a day and also sprayed water on to the planta as if I was creating artificial rains! It did help..
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost the password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Clay Hendrix Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Hi brother thank you so much. My plants have this problem at time . Specially begonia’sThank you for explaining well and clarified my doubts. Stay connected dear
Thank you, this was great. 🥰 Can I ask one question? I have left my platnts to friend of mine over the Christmas period and unfortunately my calathea's leaves became brown and burnt and strated folding, I think it was too warm for them and they were not moistured properly. So now that they are brown I wonder how can I heal those brown leaves? Shell I take them off or will those leaves recover? Is it possible for a leaf to recover, or I they will stay brown and burnt until they are gone? 6 or 7 leaves are burnt so my calathea doesn't look nice anymore and I wish to help her😢 Thank you!
I just acquired an adenium from the store. Normally I do not buy plants from Walmart but I have always wanted one of these and could never find one, plus it had an awesome shape for bonsai. I want to be exceptionally careful with it so I've been watching lots of videos. Of all of the videos yours were most helpful so I've subscribed. Thanks for the info can't wait to see the next one
When I mix up a soil compound I often used composted tea bags and/or peatmoss then depending on the tree/shrub/flowers adjust my topsoil/ sand levels / seasoned manure! Excellent videos! Thanks!
My pendulum Ashoka has this problem. I removed clay soil replanted it in fresh pot and removed all leaves. New leaves came in month and all new leaves are healthy
Hi, I was having this problem, leaves of perfectly healthy crosendra suddenly turning deep brown from the edges. I diagnosed it yesterday so i'm sharing the info. I decided to repot the plant even though it's new, only 3-4 months since i bought from nursery. But I thought maybe soil is over draining. When i removed the soil, i found 6 big sized grubs! Apparently they were destroying the roots! These are not worms, after searching the Internet, I found that these are larvae of some insects that lay eggs in the soil and the egg hatch and these larvae then feed on the roots. So if the plant is not getting better even after proper watering and adding proper nutrients, check the soil for these kind of insect/worm attacks.
very helpful video.. I have pygmy date palm in my patio receiving 2 hours morning direct sun then shade. I got it a month back and potted it in good potting mix soil two weeks later with perlite and slow release fertilizer in a big pot. I cannot figure out why its leaves tips are brown and crusty? it just breaks after getting too crusty. I use moisture meter so that I only water when it gets dry. Any suggestions? should i bring it inside? i dont find any pests.
@@GardenTips wanted to confirm what you meant? do you mean its getting too much sun by getting 2-3 hours of direct sun. Should I move it away from sun? Should i bring it indoors? its in a pot. For water i use moisture meter, so hopefully i m not watering too much. Is there any way I can reach you on email?
@@GardenTips, i have a monstera variegata, and the leaves are burned. I didn't water a lot, I really don't know what to do about it. Can u tell me because I don't want to lose it!
I had been pouring rejected RO purifier water in my money plant and Areca palm which caused browning of the tips... Now i realised why.. Because of hard water.
Most plants naturally don't care about too much hardness in the water unless it's over 1000TDS. Your RO extra water is most probably not the cause but just accelerating the stress a tiny bit.
So at 3:40 you talk about salt in hard water & that soft water does not have salt. Facts are that the opposite is true. Just about anyone who has tasted soft water can vouch for how salty it is. The chemical for soft water is salt. The hard well water has minerals. Otherwise, a person making pasta would not add salt to the hard water before cooking the pasta if the hard water already had salt in it. Very educational video. Thank you. You make a difference. 🌹
my banana plant leafs were drooping and turning brown, I found out it was getting dry in the root base, I soaked it with water in within 2 hours the leafs were up again :)

Hi great video! I have an issue with my fig trees. The growth tip and new leaves emerging from the growth tip are orange and very dry/crispy looking. I noticed the growth is also stunted. The weird looking new leaves also don't grow to maturity and fall off. Any ideas? I have pictures if able to share. Thanks
The leaves of my Peace Lilies were “ burned” at the tips. I read that chlorine in tap water caused it. So, I used purified water ( mineral water ) in watering them. The “ burned” leaves turned to green eventually.
Nice info! I try to plant the top of pineapple after removing all but 4-5 leaves. I let the plant develop roots by keeping it in water for a week or so and then transplant it in soil. But those leaves always get brown at the tips. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Thank you so much for the nice and informative video..I have a question which I was asking every gardener from past few months.. Can you please tell me the name of the plant in the video at 1:45??

a very informative video. good job!
4:00 just a small bone to pick: it is not "soft water" needed to prevent build up of minerals in soil but low EC / low TDS.
Very good informative video

Thanks. Summer time, perhaps two reasons, one sun - try shifting to bright shady area. Second less watering in summer.
