  • I haven't seen any videos showing how to install the parts shop max Diff and Subframe risers, so I figured I would make my own! I hope this helps anyone interested in doing these!

So you don’t have to weld the subframe bushings?

    • @yebo3061

Nope, just the rear differential mounts!

Do you need the diff bushings? I just want to install my sub bushings. I heard the diff bushings aren’t even necessary.

It depends on what you are trying to achieve. I wanted maximum rise to help my geometry, so I did both.

How much vibration do you have now and would you do it again

    • @yebo3061

I have a lot of vibration, but I also have solid engine mounts, trans mounts, no rubber bushings in suspension (hime joints) I would absolutely do it again and recommend it to anyone that’s lowered and drifts!

So solid mounts totally worth it for reaction?

if i wanted to raise the diff do i also need to get subframe risers too?

Cool but i won't put the front diff solid bushing just let OEM remains . However for the rear of diff mount is poly insert on the right while welding custom solid(more centered bolt position) on the left side .
For the rear subframe i would grind 2mm off the bottom and then excess off the top so it will balance out the height of the solid bush and not contact the OEM weld on the top ... meaning i will be 2mm least raised than the PBM kit intended to while still raising the subframe higher at the rear than OEM . This maintained the OEM weld on the rear subframe mount top section .
For engine mounting poly on the left facing engine from front of car and OEM on the right . (Inside cabin will be poly on right side while OEM left side . )
Transmission just the insert from Powerflex will be great for shifting ... the other company poly shape does help but not as detailed design/engineered shape that extend the full portion of the front/rear facing of transmission mount . Best not to raise the diff or overly solid mounting all round with 1 piece driveshaft .
Even you are super driver and not hitting anything ... you never know someone or ricer might just blast into your car like a rocket ... if solid all round ... your engine internally crank , rod , bearing definitely will be gone ... Subframe mount can be solid ... chassis can be swap ... engine are the most expensive if your engine is highly modified (i.e. NA high rev forged, lighten all round , professional balanced)
Unless you are a racing team who can swap parts unlimited x ... don't go full solid all round ... the stress on components is everywhere harsher ... Toyota(maybe subaru) reliability will become like ford or China brand trash reliability ... going solid or too hard duro on bushing or spherical bearing is not needed unless you are world class race team . Skill , practise , talent , experience , hardwork , intelligent is more of a key rather going overly modify street car which doesn't even compete . For practise and learning OEM and some poly bush are good enough ... practise awhile stop and let the car cool down ... don't need to mount this and that modify this and that ... all marketing bullshit ... you can run 10 lap still slow as ever however you can run 1-2 lap and stop to think and reflect on what will improve even more than wasting tires , brake pad , rotor surface ... overheating components and reducing life of your parts ... its not a horse ... its human created machine .
Most real deal professional or world class racer don't tune/mod buy this or that install a-z ... just OEM and practise ... don't go overheat the machine ... to rest is to carry on an even longer journey afterwards ... don't go crazy on practising burning money tires pads and overheating/damaging stuff ... its not like a sword its a machine lots of mechnical parts and electronics which requires human input ... if you don't understand your weapon and just purely burning money onto it ... you grow nothing of the limit it can do . Limit of speed thru the corners not limit of being trashed /overheated / abused .
