Hi Everyone, We hope you enjoyed our video! Which 2023 Grand Design model did you like best? Please say hello by leaving a comment below! Also, please feel free to ask any questions or just tell us about yourselves. We want to get to know you and share our RV experiences.
Sizzle strips! That was a new phrase to me. I always learn something from your videos! Love those retractable shower doors instead of curtains. Thorough reviews, as always. Well done!
Not that anyone will care... but in early 2022 I went to several shows intent on inspecting a few RV's I had narrowed my search down to. The quality of the units I had targeted seriously scared me, and while looking through their competitors I found a few Grand Design's that I liked and there were no factory defects I could see. They TRY to do good work, that was obvious. Can't ask for more than that! 👍😎
@@RVBlogger - No, in searching for a tow vehicle I got sticker shock. I’m in Dallas, and the Ford and Ram dealerships I went to were not taking deposits. They will take your order including every specification you wanted, and call you when it comes in, then you can bid on it with the other buyers waiting. I appreciate his honesty, but paying $30,000 more for a truck than it’s worth gave me pause and I’m waiting for the market to settle as well as considering smaller alternatives.
The XLS 23LDE looks really impressive. I like the kitchen on the end also. My wife and I are ready to retire and hopefully travel, so this is one we will definitely look at. Thanks!
Grand Design does an amazing job meeting campers needs! So glad you enjoyed the video. And congrats on the retirement and hitting the road. Hope we see you out there!
Mike, the storage above the microwave would be a great place for cookie sheets or your pizza stone so you could always make your pizza in your oven! The other area around the sink I would probably use for spices or perhaps some of the longer grilling tools that are a little bit awkward and don't always fit into the utensil drawer.
I love Grand Design 😍 they’re probably my favorite travel trailer. I researched them in 2017 and found a great one , a 2650rk , for my friend who bought it.
Grand Design seems to make some of the better quality trailers on the market. I really like the 22RBE floor plan! How do you not love a residential queen bed as well as that huge kitchen and that couch looks very comfy! And of course one of my favorite parts a large bathroom! They definitely a winner here!
On the 23LDE which I like very much, I didn't see any towel holders in the bathroom. Before I step out of the shower I like to be able to reach out and grab a towel. In our existing trailer we use tower hooks that hang on top of our bathroom door but the 23LDE has pocket doors or slider doors that you can't hang towels on.
I've been thinking a out that last one since yesterday. That one would make a great tiny house on a foundation. I can see the big porch spanning those two doors.. thanks got thank about that some more.
East to West parent company is Forest River. No relationship but we see similarities with many different manufacturers. I guess they begin to run out of ideas. 😂
Someone suggested I look at GD. I really like the utility center in storage. Some other TTs are starting to do that now. Makes winterization a breeze. But GD designers hate Udinettes in slideouts. The tiny 4 seater dinettes without slide are just that: tiny. 1 rainy weekend camping with the in-laws and you'll be grateful to not be stuck with those damned theatre loungers. Also, 80gal gray tank?! The fresh water is only 40gal so you'll run out of water long before the gray is ever full.
Great point..especiall the in-laws! 😂 If you are hooked up to a pedestal (city water) then an 80 gallon gray tank is awesome! Thanks for watching and commenting.
We have the previous model to the XLS23LDE, the Imagine 2250RK with the same basic layout except our sofa is where the dinette is and the entertainment center and fireplace are where the sofa is in the video. The mid bath is great for the reasons you point out plus having the isolation of 2 pocket doors between the bedroom and living/kitchen areas is perfect for us because I'm an early riser and wifey likes to sleep in. I can get up and make coffee and relax on the sofa without bothering her and I can take a nap and close the doors and I don't hear the TV when she's in the living area. I'm pretty surprised how much the price has gone up in 4 years from our 2019 Imagine. Thanks for the vid!
That's awesome! Glad you are enjoying your RV. At first we weren't a big fan of the design but sometimes you have to look at something from a different perspective because people have different camping needs! Glad I was on the right track!
The Murphy bed is a nice touch, but seriously Grand Design couldn’t install an ergonomic designed refrigerator? Refrigerator door swing is so important in any kitchen, but in a small area it’s critical.
On the XLRBE, the sink/cooktop area looks very awkward as the sink bowl extends past the knobs for the stove. I would think you would be standing right up against those knobs. JMHO
We rarely see travel trailers with a front kitchen. It adds too much tongue weight for towing. Some smaller light weight campers may have front kitchens. We recently posted an article about tongue weight if you are interested. Thanks for watching and commenting. traveltrailerpro.com/why-must-understand-tongue-weight-towing/
I hate a TV in my kitchen. I don't care where your couch is get tge TV out of my kitchen. Of course the lack of a proper dining space (I don't want to sit on the sofa to eat) puts that one out of the running anyway. I LOVE the rear kitchen. Looks like the stove and microwave are not accessible in travel mode so cold food only if you're somewhere you can't open slide. Did I miss the bedroom on this? I'll have to look for another video of it
You made a lot of great points. Sorry about the bedroom...I completely forgot to include that! 😜 But it does look a lot like the other 2. Thanks for watching and commenting.
This company has some excellent individual design ideas but they can't seem to get them together, particularly true with the fridge doors opening the wrong way. Ilike the last one though with the exception of that fridge door.
@@sarabegay6700 Hi Sara, They are availbale now at most dealerships...you may have to call around to find a dealership that carries Grand design. Not all do. Thanks again! Mike
For the prices, too many refrigerators open opposite kitchen. 🤔 installed by guys who don't actually cook. Only open fridge door from lounge area to get beer.
