I have worked in instrumentation field and have now retired. Your Instrumentation Academy will be a valuable resource for those aspiring to work in this field. Great job for creating and sharing these videos.
I loved every bit of this. As a female Instrumentation Engineering student, I've found that my male counterparts like to not explain things when asked... or they use terminology that isn't learner friendly. Well... mostly cuz I live in Texas. This was AWESOME! Thank you so much for making a video that was so clear and concise.
Thank you for this. I’m an electrician for 10 years now and have just enrolled to study to become a dual trade in instrumentation. Glad to have found your channel as a good resource!
I'm under apprenticeship program of two years as a instrument technician.I am not able to study p &ID but now try to study p &ID.This video is helpful for me.Bundles of thanks for your corporation to share knowledge with young guys...
Great video for those who aren't familiar with or just looking to brush up on the fundamentals. Excellent work to the creators for keeping it short and concise!
Great video!! I recently started a job in the new-to-me field of Process Piping and this is the exact video I needed to get an overview of P&ID symbols.
thanks for the lecture, ma'am. You are so great! but can you make a video on how to develop a P&ID? like where the transmitter should be placed and more.
10:10 I know it might be different for the companies' legend sheet. However "long dashed line" means future. Let's think momentarily that you created P&ID for the Greenfield project. Of course you will show pipe lines as a straight line due the main one. Because it is not existing piping. So in this case once you finished and plant starts operations, you have to change straight lines into to dashed in your each drawing as they are existing now. Otherwise people when they will work on Brownfield projects and when they book out those drawings they must identify which one is existing pipe which one is not. If you don't change it your straight lines into dashed line which means existing, people will totally confused and changing making double work. So it is better to identify dashed line as a future line. It's my personal view.
i am a new comer to learn p&id..usually i works as a pipe fitter and only fabricated or install follow the iso dwg. i was offered by the company to do the task in plant process.
1:43 Mentioned that a break or gap at the cross-over means that pipes are not connected in the plant. However if you check provided real pipes, you can see they already have been connected. Actually I would say better to use "not crossing" or "touching" rather than "connected" as it may confuse audience.
