Wynns, i must commend your sincerity and respect for the country you find yourself . Its very easy to feel like Mr. Smart pants- superior and look down at others governments or cultures. I do not want to name some other sailing channels who do nothing but criticise and complain in the counties they visit. like you said, you are guests in their country and the correct attitude is to respect whatever they tell you to do. That attitude will keep you going for long. God speed and more wind to your sails.
I agree 100%. It’s their country, their rules. You just don’t have to visit there. It’s your decision. There have been many different responses in countries, and states, and freedom is the ability to choose. As long as that choice is offered and respected by all, it’s all good. It’s the dictatorial governments that need to be avoided as much as possible. Be it in the Pacific or North America.
Exactly.' Tonga is doing the right thing by putting the safety of their own people first. As one of only 10 covid free countries on earth, hats off to the government and people of Tonga.
I think framing it as complaining is a bit of an over statement. Airing your frustrations is closer to the mark. The more authentic the videos the better they are. Most of the frustrations have to do with bureaucracy and not the people themselves. That goes for Americans in America as well. As far as respect goes, didn’t they admit to filming even though they were dam well told not to. We see what we want to see.
You guys make me proud to be an American living in Phuket. Even during this lockdown that you've experienced you've shown the world how to "pay it forward". One of the few channels that have managed to create great content without actually sailing.
I held my breath as you were heading for Curiosity. It was a genuinely emotional experience just watching you guys reunited with your home. It’s just brilliant that you finally made it back - what an epic tale. I have to say that I am well impressed at how seriously Tonga is taking Covid. If more states took that approach we wouldn’t be seeing such an explosion in numbers of cases. Congratulations guys , cheers Andy xx
I just re-checked the timeline...They flew to Tonga Sept. 2nd. Fiji had last had a case reported Aug.14th...and they had a case reported Sept.2nd...the same day The Wynnes escaped. Fiji reported 2 more cases on Sept. 5th...so they might had been denied if the flight had been delayed another day. Wouldn't that have been a heartbreaker...thank god they escaped when they did.
Thank you for being so gracious in regards to the requirements Tonga put in place, not complaining, not being rude, not reinforcing the rather bad reputation Americans have earned traveling overseas. Congrats on getting home.
I have a daughter in Western Australia don’t know when I will see her again, saw her Morhers Days 2019 a surprise visit by her, so still unclear when I will see her again, and yes I live in Australia, closed borders, patience is a virtue miss her so much, I need a hug.
I can’t believe how happy I am for people that I have never met before. You guys deserve to have your home back. Your so selfless with others. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
For all the good you two have done during all this time to have to come home to this is amazing. No one has ever said life was going to be easy it's what you can make of it. You two are an amazing couple. I admire you greatly. You take life one day at a time and do what's necessary. Soldier on.
Just LOVE how respectful you both are towards the natives of whatever country you are at the moment. You had soooo many rules and restrictions throughout this whole video and you still didn’t complain. Thanks for ALWAYS being so darn positive! Much love from Oklahoma!!!♥️♥️♥️
Makes my heart happy seeing you guys finally getting close to home. Nikki and Jason you’ve done so much for others in the time you were away. We all need to take a few pointers from you two as to how we all need to be to make this world a better place to be. Thank you both for sharing with us and reminding us how we should be. ❤️❤️
Thankyou for being so understanding of all the island people. They must have suffered very similar fates to yours because when you think about it they have been in quarantine too except their existence has been one of subsistence without an income for 12 months as well. Perhaps theirs was worse because I can't imagine how scarce things are there at the moment and even if they could find those things they couldn't afford to buy anything. I know you will work your magic on all the people you meet and interact with as they will be just as happy to see you as you were to see Curiosity. Any activity you generate may well be the first income any of these people have seen since before covid. Your time in quarantine when you arrived back generated an income for someone as will anything you do around the boat yard getting curiosity back in shape.
I’m so happy for you two. I can only imagine the emotions that you have gone through in this unexpected journey. Throughout this journey, I’m amazed at your gratitude, which at times I’m sure it was hard to find. I think this is why I enjoy your videos, you have an amazing attitude and can-do spirit.
So happy you made it back to Curiosity. When I was in the Navy, fresh out of boot camp, I was held back just over a month in Great Lakes, Il before flying down to Dam Neck, VA for "A" School to become a OS. AKA Radarman. But I digress. After A School, the Navy flew me back to San Diego where I lived before joining the Navy. But my homeport was not known. Thinking I was going to San Francisco, my friend drove me up to my parents half way. I called every day for the location of my ship, and 3 days before I had to report to my ship, the Navy said my homeport was back down in San Diego. After checking in, we moved the ship to a nearby drydock for the next 3-4 months, basically putting the ship back together. Let the fun times begin.
Maybe not since WWII have so many lives been disrupted worldwide. Yours and everyone's is unique and amazing. It is understandable how Polynesian countries are being extraordinarily cautious. Obviously they clearly are aware of their history hundreds of years ago when whalers and missionaries first arrived. For the most part they have enjoyed a peaceful and independent existence for 75 years. Anyone would covet that. Looking forward to the GREAT RESTORATION number 2.
Wow! If that isn’t a lesson for all of us in resilience I don’t know what is. Good luck getting her back to ship shape. Thanks for continuing to share despite it being so rough for you guys.
I have to say i teared up a little when you were unpacking. What an emotional release that must have been. I cant believe it's been a year!! I'm so happy for you!!! I'm so happy that Mark is OK!! You did a lot of wonderful things in Fiji. You will be remembered for a long time!!!
This video makes my day. Been such a crappy year for so many people. BUT most people get to spend it close to home. Or at least be close to family. Im glad you are getting to FINALLY GO HOME!!!!
My heart is so happy for yall to finally be reunited with your home. Prayers for a smooth cleaning and repair time. Can't wait to see yall back on the water!
YOU'RE HOME!!! YAY!!! Now to make Curiosity pretty again and back to the sea. You will NEVER forget 2020! God's blessings that the next few months left of this year are calm and enjoyable. 💕
I have never been so moved by people I've never met! I'm so happy you're home at last and I can't wait for boat work videos!!! I think it speaks volumes about your character when you have had so many people step up to help and have 6,600 views in the first 30 minutes of your video coming on-line. We all love you and wish only good things for you (well, some boat work for Jason! :) ) With love from the Maine coast.
I've been watching a lot of your videos from the oldest to newest and have a new addition! Man what a journey it has been getting back to Curiosity.. You stayed respectful and patient throughout the whole process and I imagine it was not easy both financially and mentally. You even managed to help clean up trash in Fiji, save a kitten and give her a better life, help raise thousands of dollars for animals in Fiji, and helped extend a man's life and well being. You are both amazing!!
Still finishing the last section of the video, and I just have to share, that i've been non stop smiling during the entire video. I'm sooooooo happy for you two :D
YEAH!!!!! Having you back at your boat is a bit of hope and inspiration to all of us that one day soon our lives will be back to normal. After all, spending time with people is life's real treasure. xoxo
I am so happy that you finally have been able to get back to your boat and the work of cleaning and getting ready to sail once again, the real relief will come once you are finally done and sailing again
What an amazing journey getting back. Never take for granted the adventures, people, places and animals over these past few months. I would gladly change places with y'all during that time rather than being stuck here in the states ❤️🤙
1 Year away from home !! WOW it didn't seem that long , for me anyway not for you guys. What a journey, I've lost count of the different places you have stayed in since you landed in Fiji. And all through it you stay amazingly positive. You also HELPED THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, cleaned beaches, SAVED A CAT, cleaned beaches, SAVED A HUMAN, cleaned beaches, SWAM OFF A FLOAT PLANE, cleaned beaches, and ENDURED A BOAT FULL OF TEENAGERS then finally a mad dash with 21 days isolation. WHEW!! I'm so happy for you both that you can get stuck into boat maintenance and finally back to sailing. Good luck and steady wind.
wow. you made it! praise God! remember to breathe a little. I am excited, can't imagine what you guys must be feeling. Curiosity still in one piece, no barnacles stuck to the hull which would have been a year's worth of growth. lots of maintenance, maintenance. deep breath in, hold, breathe out. relax, eat some chocolate, have an ice cream. a little, a day. go with the flow. much love to the both of you.
Congratulations, so glad you are back home with some normalcy. However look at all the people and places you left a positive impact on. Your footprints 👣 will forever be on the land of Fiji and on the hearts of many people.
You don't have to thank me for watching. I have to thank you for sharing your story. If it wasn't for you and a few other channels, I wouldn't have found a boat that I've absolutely fallen in love with and have a survey scheduled.
*FINALLY ! You get home to your boat HOME ! I am very happy for you both. The amount of hoops you folks had to jump through was incredible. Your patience and endurance are to be commended in this situation.*
my toes are river dancing in my flip flops only 188 miles from home... i could just kiss boat bumpers ...all your new found family and homies are opening up the liquor cabinet and bringing out the tall glasses .. the clink of itty bitty ice cubes ricochets around the world ! cheers to you and all the angels you met along the journey 2020 God speed on floating off into the sunset....
So happy and so dismayed at the same time! Poor Curiosity! Poor Nikki & Jason! A whole year away! I’m happy you’re back home but so sorry this has cost you both so much more than it would’ve had life been not 2020. Truly the strangest of times. You certainly will be busy. So sorry but so happy you’re back home!
Congratulations on finally making it back to your baby safe and sound!! I can imagine no words can express how good it is. You both were so positive and handled this whole situation with grace and patience. I know you had days where they were tough but you didn't portray that. I love watching your journey and wish you both well as you get your baby back into sailing gear!! Cheers!!
This is a heart warmer ♥️ I've only found your channel recently (along with Zatara) and after just a few videos felt like you're friends I've known for years. You always want the best for your friends, and this is the best 😊 Great that you are both well and Covid free 👍 Every video I'm inspired to plan for a sailing adventure of my own in the future, and I know I'm going to enjoy the rest of your journey. Thank you for sharing your lives with us all 🙏
Thank you! This is beautiful. Wow what an incredible journey you have shared with us. I watched this morning more hopeful and grateful than ever. Not sure if anyone else has said it yet, but like Dorothy returning from Oz, "There is no place like home."
So thrilled you two are back home safe and sound. I can’t believe how emotional we both got to see you smiling faces in front of your boat. We don’t usually write comments but we wanted you to know we have been watching for years and so enjoy your videos. Thank you so much. Take care.
WOW. Seems like its been forever since I last saw Curiosity. She looks a little rough around the edges, but it will keep you busy with stuff to do and only be better than ever once done. I cant believe you only missed getting back home by one day, then had to wait all this time. Thank god you had so many friends to help you along the way. WELCOME HOME!
We're so very sorry you've been away from your home for SO long, but just seeing you walk up to Curiosity made my grandson, Henry and I SO VERY HAPPY!! You're HOME!!!!
I am so happy for you guys to finally be able to get back home! Now begins the hard part: getting it back together. I wish you all the patience and strength to get through the rest of this year!
I cant imagine what an emotional roller coaster it has been for you two. Just watching from back home I have been on the edge of my seat wondering when you'd make it home. I am so very excited for you that you have made it home. I'm sure it's a bit heart breaking to see her for the first time after a year away and to see she needs even more repairs now, but I know you guys will get it done. I'm so very happy to be a part of your journey around this planet and thank you so much for including us all in your adventures.
Great to see Curiosity once again! Based on what you have shown here, I sense at least another 6 months of boat projects before she's off the hard and ready to be sailing once again. Oh well, Tonga can't be such a bad place to be on the hard I guess.
May God send Heavenly angels to guide & direct you to restoring curiosity back to her georgeous condition! And that He will also bless you to recover everything that has been lost, damaged or ruined! My prayers are with you guys! Many Blessings, Aimey- Bow, Washington
I’m so happy for you both. What an ordeal. 2020 is a year that will never be forgotten by those of us who managed to live through it. I knew Curiosity would be in poor shape, letting anything sit for a year is not good. You’ve got a lot of work to do, but you’re HOME! Finally..Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing you bring her back to life.
I am so glad you finally got home! I wanted to tell you that I have been a fan for years and that you are one of the main reasons I am happily writing this from the couch on my 1984 Newell Classic. Your love for the traveling life and the value you bring to those who would dream of it has changed lives for the better. Thank you.
YOU'RE HOME!! AMAZING journey back home, oh, even with the projects and the repairs, it must feel so good just to be HOME! NO longer adrift. So happy for both of you.
Yea!!!!!! OMG! I’m so happy y’all are finally home. It looks like a lot of work is in your future, but I’m sure you will love (almost!) every minute of it. Here’s to 2021. I’m ready to kick 2020 to the curb!
Yes, quarantine seemed a little over the top, but you guys showed an attitude of gratefulness, patience and respect! So, so happy you guys are back with your boat. Can't imagine the emotions you felt. You probably have a bit more boat work now, but you are home! Hugs.
I am overwhelmed with joy that you both made it home to Curiosity safe and healthy. Incredible achievement to say the least. I have faith that you'll have Curiosity back in the water where she belongs and all will be well in the world. Make yourselves a couple of stiff drinks and let the process begin. Welcome home! 😊😎❤🌏🏝❤🍹🍹
Home sweet Curiosity!!! Relief, Immensely relieved!!!! Life is a Tragedy..... How we deal with said tragedy sets the vibes of our aura..... Great job you two!! Changing lives.... Mark and his entire group of friends, family and all the folks that involved themselves, time, money, prayers..... Little stray cat on the island changed their ways of operating, thinking, reacting and showed them a path not realized or traveled. Last but not least the Zatora Family!!! So much love and fun!!! Keep on shining your light kids..... You're doin good in our eyes!! Love n Prayers good thoughts sent your way!
Welcome home kids. You finally made it. She looks rough but you have an abundance of TLC stored up. She’ll be back to top form in no time. NGL, I could watch Nikki unpack that crate all day. Looking good girl. 👌
I just wanted to cry watching the last few minutes. Wonderful. I'm so happy for you. You're story is the light for the rest of us. SO glad for you! Thank you. I agree with you're respect for the country you're in. They are doing everything they can to keep their citizens safe.
We’re feeling better already too. The good thing about being overwhelmed is that it doesn’t last forever with energetic hard working souls such as yourselves. I don’t suppose you can go anywhere for quite a while anyway so eat that elephant in little bites. Best wishes and regards!
Congrats on getting home. So happy for you both. Been following you since the beginning. Your fortitude not withstanding is a beacon for everyone. Well done and keep up the great work.
In light of the still closed borders and the impending cyclone season, I hope you will be staying on the hard, doing projects, until the season ends or you can make a run for NZ or Australia.
Bawling!!!! Soooooooo happy for you yet my heart is a little broken because of the condition of Curiosity. But I know you guys will get to work bringing her back! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow. How overwhelming. I wish I could be there and help scrub, scrub, scrub. Wishing you all the best as you bring Curiosity back to life. So happy you are home and have such great friends. Take care you two.
@@LVQ-so5th Much of that stereotype probably comes from the size of our navy. (I'm retired from it) Sailors get ashore like once a month and tend to let off a lot of pent up steam. That can make for bad impressions. Obviously sailors are only a very small part of United States' citizenry. And, to be fair, sailors do a lot of good when they visit a country. Just like the Wynns they help with all kinds of service oriented projects like orphanages and schools. That's less in the public eye though so what sticks is the drunks in the streets.
Jonathan * there were thousands of Americans who had to fight their way into Germany and never got to leave alive. They weren’t doing it for themselves. No one there has the right to complain.
I am so happy for both of you to be back home! I look forward to all of your videos every Sunday morning! Just to see your faces bring a huge GRIN on this "Old Mans" face. From "The Old Man in a nursing home in Dayton, Ohio" with much Love to you both!
I'm so happy your crazy "journey" is finally getting you back to your "Floating Water Bed"! I pray for cleanup and whatever else goes smoothly for you!

Different personalities respond in different ways. Some people have another view, perhaps for a good reason from their perspective.

Yep! 5 months visiting in the States, a month in South Africa, 6 months in Fiji. Whew!
9:40 Nikki, your little smack of reality ...😄
That's what I was thinking too holy moly
And when you realize that all of this has happened because of a ‘plannedemic’, right ?
OnTheWay. And it isn’t over yet
Welcome back home!

I feel for you and hopefully you will see her soon. I got to see my dad for only 2 hrs since march and then he passed. : ( peace
Praying for you and your family to be reunited healthy and happy. 🙏💝🙏 Every blessing!
@Robert Evans Go away sad sack!
when you said you were in their country and you do as they ask was such a breath of fresh air. So many people don't care
I can’t believe how happy I am for people that I have never met before. You guys deserve to have your home back. Your so selfless with others. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

It's always a pleasure to leave the bunker for an excursion. It's just as enjoyable to return to your own diggings.

Whoooohooo! Success! Glad you're back! I've never been so "mentally vested" in a journey to get someone back home!
It's so amazing that it's been a YEAR. We just see you once (or twice) a week, so the time has flown for us.
They put their boat up because cyclone season was approaching.
Now it's approaching again.
I’m so happy for you two. I can only imagine the emotions that you have gone through in this unexpected journey.

So glad you made it back... Can’t wait to see how Curiosity fared.
You always want the best for your friends, and this is the best 😊 Great that you are both well and Covid free 👍
Every video I'm inspired to plan for a sailing adventure of my own in the future, and I know I'm going to enjoy the rest of your journey.
Thank you for sharing your lives with us all 🙏
I don't know why but, I'm crying. Congratulations guys, you made it back!!!
Let the fun begin!! We are so happy for you guys!!🤩😍
And you Brazilians splashed?
@@MrJerobona New video video about it next Monday!! 🤩
I’ve been home since this started. I’m definitely going stir crazy 😜.
Hey guys, we think of you everyday here as we work on the boat. What Would OLC do??? 🤣
@@gonewiththewynns hehehehe If it wasn't the pademic and the distance we would love to help for sure!! hehehe
Take care.
I am so excited for yall ! thanks for taking me along.
That's an amazing home coming to Curiosity, cant wait to see it sparkling on the ocean.
Dang it the perseverance, discipline, resilience
on a other level way above most humans.
Proud to have been part of your
audience...🌞
Great to see Curiosity once again! Based on what you have shown here, I sense at least another 6 months of boat projects before she's off the hard and ready to be sailing once again. Oh well, Tonga can't be such a bad place to be on the hard I guess.
What a long and adventurous journey home ! So glad you finally made it , and hope everything goes well with Curiosity returning to H2O .
May God send Heavenly angels to guide & direct you to restoring curiosity back to her georgeous condition! And that He will
also bless you to recover everything that has been lost, damaged or ruined! My prayers are with you guys!
Many Blessings,
Aimey- Bow, Washington
WOW 👏👏👏😀🥂 Home again !!!
So glad you finally made it home! Best wishes for getting Curiosity afloat! 🏝☀️🌊🏄♂️⛵️⚓️🏊♂️🎣🤿
Finally!! Ive been waiting for this vlog. Welcome home.
So happy for you
Yea!!!!!! OMG! I’m so happy y’all are finally home. It looks like a lot of work is in your future, but I’m sure you will love (almost!) every minute of it. Here’s to 2021. I’m ready to kick 2020 to the curb!
100 thumbs up, you guys... thnx for taking all of us along.... wife & I have been following you from the start, stay healthy !!
Yes, quarantine seemed a little over the top, but you guys showed an attitude of gratefulness, patience and respect! So, so happy you guys are back with your boat. Can't imagine the emotions you felt. You probably have a bit more boat work now, but you are home! Hugs.
Wow finaly seeing curiosity is way beyond happiness. Lots of works to do. Happy seing you guys finally back home 100% positive good vibes.
😊😎❤🌏🏝❤🍹🍹
So happy to see you both back to Curiosity. Your example of resilience and hope through very difficult times is an example we can all learn from.
So glad you made it back to your home, Curiosity❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Welcome home kids. You finally made it. She looks rough but you have an abundance of TLC stored up. She’ll be back to top form in no time.
NGL, I could watch Nikki unpack that crate all day. Looking good girl. 👌
I just wanted to cry watching the last few minutes. Wonderful. I'm so happy for you. You're story is the light for the rest of us. SO glad for you! Thank you. I agree with you're respect for the country you're in. They are doing everything they can to keep their citizens safe.
We are so excited that you’re back on “Curiosity”. Best wishes to you both. You’re an inspiration!
Wow, what a year!!! - - Fair Winds for the days, weeks, and year ahead!!!
YAY! Glad you finally made it. I also hadn’t realized it had been a whole year, wow. It’s go time! 🧽🧼🛠☕️🥃☕️🥃
Yep! 5 months visiting friends & family in the States, a month in South Africa, 6 months in Fiji. Whew!
Home Sweet Home. Welcome home guys. peace
So far NZ & Aus aren't giving out Covid entry exemptions, even for cyclone season. So....????
Nice to see you finally made it home. Your patience is inspiring.
Soooooo, being you, this means a chance to fix, change, update and generally create a custom “Wynn” cat! Good luck to you both.
I’m not crying. You’re crying. Congratulations guys and welcome home.
I love to hear Americans that realize your guests in someone else's country. Happy you're so close to you're floating home!
Some of us still have good common sense and respect. 😎
Most Americans that I have seen overseas have been very good guests. I don't buy into the "ugly-American" stereotype.
Jonathan * Germany, the country that actually spawned the Nazi’s can never complain about Americans.
Just, so happy for the both of you, who spread so much joy. Good luck with all your projects. Looking forward to seeing Curiosity renewed.
