Well, flowers _can_ be girly, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with someone appearing as such.
The juxtaposition between male female is beautiful especially since there is a flowery pattern upon the controller,as well as reference to the physical guitars buttons as well. 9/10

I've been stuck with an overstrumming/no strumming guitar with really mushy frets for the longest time.
To those who don't use a guitar or have no idea what they're like, you would not believe how much of a godlike guitar this is.
whenj i pulled out my gh4 guitar out of a closet and had completely forgot it i was like yooo that design .. truns out i had the up stroke only working on strummer XD DId they purposely made em cheap or we just massively over extending life expectancy of the game

Man I was considering working on something like this, actually I had already done some work.
My problem was that the plastic guitar market isn't sustained with good options so I wanted to make something that anybody could put together. I never considered keyboard switches I was deep in the arcade switches instead that had like minimal travel, but they we quite big for fitting in a neck, and my ideas for a strumbar wasn't necessarily that great, especially for the use of people who play way better than I.
Cool to see these innovations, tempt me to make a custom guitar with some of these innovations mayhaps.

To elaborate on what I had been looking into was making something that could pretty much be assembled from off the shelve component and cheap laser cut acrylic. It was a very utilitarian approach that doesn't look nearly as good as this although not without its charm.
I promise if I ever get some real work done I'll share it on the Clone Hero discord.

being actually musician first i feel like someone need to come up with a guitar string stummer ...one thats reliable that is (which seem to be the issue with those ) see if we broke a string instead of a possibly specific type key switch O-O plus fast strum is stupid cuz of the amount the bar need to travel compared to how effortless it is with a pick and a string.

While I’m no keyboard fiend myself, I am a jeweler, so tight tolerances and meticulously crafted mechanisms are my bread and butter. Seeing those elegant yet simple PCBs and hearing the finely-tuned switches click makes me giddy like a kid in a candy store.

Fun fact, the original prototype PS2 guitar controller used clicky microswitches. I had a chance to play it at E3 in 2005 behind closed doors before the full reveal and that was one thing about the demonstration that has always stuck with me and something I wish would have been carried over to the retail release.

Even as with someone who has such amazingly crappy tendons that rhythm games give me a lot of pain, I'm super glad that these exist because my god did we need good mechanical guitars after all the mushy buttons that we were given from cheap toy manufacturers.

I’ve always wondered why Rock Band-style guitars never caught on, be it the buttons that make sliding look easier, the smaller secondary fretboard, or its non-clicky strum bar.
Sliding is insanely easy. I've just switched from a RB1 Strat to an Xplorer and it takes some getting used to because damn.
I don't find the strum bar to be that bad tbh, having played with a RB guitar for two years or so. However, the buttons are way stiffer than GH guitars and they get quite flimsy after a while. Fretting in general is much easier on GH guitars.
The neck is too long, using solo buttons to tap isn't as easy as it sounds either.
@@acai28 Well I get the latter, though I figured the former might be mitigated by having your right hand on the lower buttons instead of having to travel all the way from the strumbar to the top frets when it comes time to tap out trills.

Watching your hands during the montage was more entertaining than whatever the charts were doing lol
It will never over strum because the box navy uses a click bar stored in a box compartment on the switch, (hence the name box navy) and when pressed the slider forces the click bar to be pushed down and then the bar gets pulled up giving the click that also registers the switch. It also has a thicker click bar and heavier actuation than other box switches. Summary the mechanism and components are not likely to fail so the bar will (almost) never overstrum.

i’m a casual lurker and i’ve been wondering for a while, how do you hit those trills on the green and red notes with your index finger without raking?? like on monster trill. to my eyes you’re just holding down the button, is your finger just twitching really fast or is there some mechanic i don’t know about?
It's called anchoring. You don't need to re-hit those frets, because taking your finger off the higher fret also counts as an input for the lower fret. I'm sure someone who's actually experienced in GH could explain it better tho.

This is so interesting to me because I've been dissatisfied with guitar controllers for as long as I remember. I had been fooling around with the idea of getting arcade guitar parts and putting them in a console guitar, though it would be pricey. Cool to see this happen.

I would love to see the extreme idea of rubber frets, to prevent you from sliding your hands down the neck, unless you let go. Or maybe another being you somehow hooking up a power supply to a drum pedal, which is connected to a Guitar controller, so you have to constantly press the pedal to keep your guitar going.
Now this does put a smile on my face.
