In this video we install a new Pioneer screen stereo in our Ford Transit. The stock screen is very small and hard to see so this much bigger screen that will allow you to connect your smart phone via Bluetooth. This is a minor upgrade but makes a big difference an even gives the dash a more sleeker and cleaner appearance! Be sure to leave a like and subscribe for more info!

Both of those should restore back up camera functionality and add to it from what I have been able to find.
I did a 2018 transit. Was able to keep the backup camera but now on a 7 inch screen with CD player player. Ordered from Crutchfield. Wiring Wiring harnesses even maintain steering wheel controls.
Getting the "Metra " dash kit to fit perfectly took much trial and error using a combination of the factory clips and the ones provided by Metra. Well worth the effort! It looks factory installed!
What did you order from Crutchfield? Got a model number or something else to help identify it? Thanks in advance.

My transit had a factory CD player and the small 4in backup camera. The camera was recessed about a foot back from the front of the dash and extremely difficult to see.
I discussed my needs with Rex and Ronald and they told me what I would need.
I ordered a Kenwood DDX57S receiver, Metra dash kit, steering wheel controls, backup camera wiring harness and I think a couple other wiring harnesses.
There are some less expensive options if you don't want or need the CD player.
Wish I could send you a picture of the final install.
Be patient and take your time.
Crutchfield reps were helpful but you still have to figure somethings out on your own!

That would be the whole idea for doing this is so i would have a bigger screen for my factory backup camera that came on my 2015 Transit 150 cargo van. The screen that came on the van is probably 2 and one half inches as i am getting older it's getting harder to see the little screen when I am backing up.
Put some mounting tape under panel where the tab doesn't fit.
Mine fits perfectly! But it does take a mix of factory clips and the ones Metra provide. Trial and error but worth it for a really factory look and finish!

Rear camera should work with the Pioneer
If you look at the back of the unit (picture on Amazon website), the upper right A/V input is exclusively for the backup camera. Soooo, not sure what happened there.

Did you guys have issues getting power to the new stereo with the harness. I have a 2017 Ford transit xlt 150 and having no luck getting power to the new unit. The original does, the new one does in another vehicle... but nothing when I get everything put together into the van. I have two different harnesses. The “metro XSVI 5524” and “70-5524”.
But no power. Any words of advice? Thanks :)
I’m assuming by now you’ve found an answer to your question. But I used a underneath the cupholder that goes to the back up lights. It’s supplies the module with 12v when the key is on.
