Tamika, I have 2 daughters. One is 22 and the other is 19. Unfortunately my 22 yr old feels I treat the 19 yr old better than her. I feel so horrible about this. It hurts my soul. I unintentionally made one of my daughters feel like I view her as less than the other and after seeing what's going on with your family my goal is to sincerely apologize to my daughter and do my best to make her feel loved, honored and appreciated. I hope that your mom will do the same. Thank you for helping other parents see that sometimes we do favor one child over the other and it is so wrong and needs to change. I pray you are healed from this pain and I pray my daughter is too.

I really think this goes on in everyone family that has children it might not be our intention but it happens and once we hear a child say that it’s our job to listen and fix it even tho you don’t see it that way
It takes a lot of courage to actually accept and take action following what your child has shared with you. Hopefully, I am not coming off as rude, but your daughter doesn't need your prayer. She needs your actions to speak to her. Accepting and acknowledging her pain is a great step. Some parents will be dismissive of a child's feelings or feel like it is disrespectful. You may benefit from going over some of the things that makes her feel this way and do something outside of the box to show your love.

There’s nothing like finding yourself!! I’ve been in the shadows of my sibling for years. Our parents died 13 months apart and we had to get it together!! Although til this day the overall relationship is still toxic at times. I found that pulling myself out of the equation at times has been so helpful and I now have some much needed peace. I won’t allow anyone to disturb my peace or steal my joy anymore. I pray for them daily, love on them when we’re together and leave the drama to them! So Tameika I applaud you for finding yourself because it’s the best feeling❤
Tamika, at 40 years old my dad still pits my older brother and I against each other. My brother and I recognized it years ago, so he and I talk about everything our dad says to both of us. Got to have that line of communication with your sibling. It’s sad to have a popular song like “Understanding” and lack so much in communication. I hope Tocha and you can figure it out.

Mrs. Tamika I am 55 years old my mom had 6 children and I was the black sheep from being a baby. She gave me away to the state of Texas and she kept the rest of her children. Never did anything wrong but that's how she felt. In saying this still to this day it hurts but I've stop crying and the heavy heart has somewhat left. She has passed away but, I can never go home because I don't know that family. I have 2 kids 2 grandkids been married divorced. Now single and enjoying it. No matter what keep God there baby he got you just like me. Focus of the family you have enjoy them and your music. Let God take care of the rest. Girl.... I swear we are mirroring the same family dynamics as far as parents and siblings go. I had to say enough is enough and had to step away and love from a distance because it was mentally draining. No one can tell you to get over a trauma. That's like telling someone who lost a loved one to get over it. We operate on our own time, and no one elses. My energy, mental, and happiness became more important than trying to fix a situation where others were not ready or willing to fix themselves, so I walked away. I have sad moments from time to time, but I am mostly happy and at peace once I accept people for who they are and where they are at the moment. Keep walking in your truth and establish the boundaries that work for you. People treat you the way you allow them to. Remember, you can't fix what you fail to acknowledge. I've been in your place with my preacher dad and his other daughter 3 months older than me and our brother 3 months younger than I. And I had to get therapy to know that I was ENOUGH FOR MYSELF.... I'm 52 years old and am just beginning to get over the pain I've endured as the Cinderella of the family. So many people take it for granted that it's easy to move past something that's gone on your whole life, even to this day. I'm so proud of you Tamika! There’s nothing like finding yourself!! I’ve been in the shadows of my sibling for years. Our parents died 13 months apart and we had to get it together!! Although til this day the overall relationship is still toxic at times. I found that pulling myself out of the equation at times has been so helpful and I now have some much needed peace. I won’t allow anyone to disturb my peace or steal my joy anymore. I pray for them daily, love on them when we’re together and leave the drama to them! So Tameika I applaud you for finding yourself because it’s the best feeling❤

Tamika, at 40 years old my dad still pits my older brother and I against each other. My brother and I recognized it years ago, so he and I talk about everything our dad says to both of us. Got to have that line of communication with your sibling. It’s sad to have a popular song like “Understanding” and lack so much in communication. I hope Tocha and you can figure it out.

Mrs. Tamika I am 55 years old my mom had 6 children and I was the black sheep from being a baby. She gave me away to the state of Texas and she kept the rest of her children. Never did anything wrong but that's how she felt. In saying this still to this day it hurts but I've stop crying and the heavy heart has somewhat left. She has passed away but, I can never go home because I don't know that family. I have 2 kids 2 grandkids been married divorced. Now single and enjoying it. No matter what keep God there baby he got you just like me. Focus of the family you have enjoy them and your music. Let God take care of the rest. Girl.... I swear we are mirroring the same family dynamics as far as parents and siblings go. I had to say enough is enough and had to step away and love from a distance because it was mentally draining. No one can tell you to get over a trauma. That's like telling someone who lost a loved one to get over it. We operate on our own time, and no one elses. My energy, mental, and happiness became more important than trying to fix a situation where others were not ready or willing to fix themselves, so I walked away. I have sad moments from time to time, but I am mostly happy and at peace once I accept people for who they are and where they are at the moment. We love you girl, and know we are rooting for you, your happiness, and your success 😊❤
