Wow! The Superstore looks pretty legit. Imagine the amount of merch that will be sold this weekend.
This is JR9'S Amplified NXT round up for the Stand & Deliver go home show.
Quick note: Stand & Deliver has sold 13k tickets which is an increase of 5.5k from 2023's event. That is great for the brand & is going to put way more eyes on all the talent involved which is really going to raise their stock. The atmosphere should be electric as a result.
Positives:
Axiom & Nathan Frazer won the triple threat to earn a tag title match vs Corbin & Bron. The match itself was a little to spot heavy & the ending was a little off but the result is excellent. Axiom & Nathan have fantastic chemistry, Bron & Corbin need to put them over as one Bron & Corbin as a team shouldn't be a thing & it'll allow Bron to go to Smackdown permanently which is where he should be.
Jacy Jayne then picked a victory over Fallon via a brutal kneeafter Fallon got distracted by Thea, Kelani, Issi & Kiana's fight on the outside. The win keeps Jacy undefeated on TV in 2024. Post match Jacy cut a short promo in gorilla position stating she's was never Thea's friend & she only saved Chase U & did the calendar to regain the attention & the spotlight that never should've been taken off of her & now she's back to being the attraction of NXT.
Ava was sitting down near Jacy & told her to move it along so Jacy left & then Thea came into the area shouting about being sick of Jacy. So Ava set up a 6 woman tag for Stand & Deliver, Jacy, Kiana & Issi vs Thea, Fallon & Kelani.
Liked how they set it up with the match & post match activity, Jacy's lines were well delivered like always & Thea does a good job selling frustration. Plus doing at as a 6 woman tag gives the ladies spotlight on the biggest PPV of the Year for NXT. I would have Jacy's team win but have a feeling Thea's will.
Lola beat Karmen Petrovic via Sharpshooter as Natalya was in Karmen's corner. A very good showing from both Lola & Karmen, Karmen in particular always delivers in the ring, Lola can be hit or miss but she did very well this time around, her Sharpshooter was executed perfectly.
Arianna Grace got a win over Wren Sinclair. Arianna's character work is really good which adds a lot to her matches, so good to see her picked up a win.
Sol Ruca defeated Blair Davenport in a really good match that highlighted Sol's selling abily which was great. As she was selling her knee really well throughout the match at one point doing her springboard splash but only using one leg which was great psychology.
Her Cartwheel DDT using the top rope looked fantastic aswell. Sol has huge potential if she can stay injury free from now on.
Dragunov & Tony D had some really good segments throughout the show as Dragunov & Tony had a sit down dinner in a warehouse that the Don uses. It started with Dragunov's being unable to use his car as the wheels had been destroyed by Tony's family who appeared in a car telling Dragunov to get in & they'll take him there, Dragunov initially declined but then got in.
Dragunov then arrived at the warehouse & he walked passed all of Tony's family doing different things but making the vibe very chilling & suspenseful eventually Dragunov sat down at the dinner table & Tony appeared with Stacks, Crusifino & Rizzo whilst the rest of the family stood around the table.
Dragunov told Tony his mental games to get an advantage is impressive. Tony went on to say the dinner represents the end of Dragunov's title reign. Dragunov said many men have said that before but so far no one has been able to do it.
Tony responded by saying he's not anybody he's the Don of NXT & if Dragunov thinks what he has done up to this point is impressive on Saturday he'll make it look like child's play. Dragunov told Tony he is unbreakable & nothing will stop him from leaving Stand & Deliver as NXT Champion.
Tony then squeezed on Dragunov's hand that was taped due a finger injury last week & asked Dragunov if he sees the eyes of the wolves around him (Tony's family) ready to pounce he went on saying he could've taken him out at any point during his walk into the warehouse but he wants to do it with the whole world watching as he breaks the unbreakable & the Don becomes NXT Champ at Stand & Deliver.
He ended by reminding Ilja that it isn't personal just business & gave him a tray of dinner telling him to enjoy his last supper.
Very entertaining segment very Mafia esque that was a good way to end the build. Tony just always delivers & this storyline has been no different. I expect Dragunov to retain but glad to see Tony's act in the main event.
Show ended with Melo & Tricks final face off. Both delivered a very good back & forth promo both giving their side of the story as to why they broke up. It ended with them both brawling taken out all the security before the roster came out to break up the brawl to take us off air.
Overall a strong way to get across they hatred between the two whilst showing it'll be a war on Saturday & Ava mentioned the ref will use his discretion to ensure their is a winner which is a nice extra touch to the match.
Negatives:
Lexis King beat Von Wagner in a very unmemorable match which felt like a waste of time. Glad Lexis won but it doesn't do anything for him.
Supernova Sessions with Lyra & Rok-C just didn't land. The main issue was Lyra's promo a lot of it made no sense. Like saying Rok-C unfairly blamed Lola at Vengeance Day for losing but the issue is Lola literally cashed in mid match & then got pinned so Rok-C is correct in that claim.
Plus Lyra then claimed Rok-C's title win vs Mandy Rose was a suprise win similar to a cash in, which again doesn't add up as Rok-C vs Mandy was set up at the beginning of an NXT for the Main event so plenty of time for both Rok-C & Mandy to prepare.
The final point that made no sense was Lyra claiming all Rok-C promos are the same thing when she herself brings up Ireland & Becky every time. Plus Lyra isn't convincing on the mic. Rok-C then tried to attack Lyra but Lyra put her through the coffee table in the ring.
Having the face stand tall before a PPV never makes sense as it makes the heel look weak & the face pretty much gets their revenge before the match.
So unless Rok-C is getting called up she has to win the title now, her heel work has been fantastic & a loss this early into would really damage her.
Plus if Rok-C wins she can hold for a while & with the rumours of Giulia potentially coming in & since she has been at WWE World & is probably attending Mania she could take the title from Rok-C in what would be a huge match.
Oba Femi then beat via ref stoppage due to Gacy being hurt from one of Oba's throws. Obviously an accident however still a negative as it resulted in the match not having it's natural conclusion, Oba needs to be careful as it can't happen again.
Overall a good Stand & Deliver go home show with only a couple of negatives & ratings going up shows that. The PPV will be a great way to kickoff Mania weekend.

One of my best friends is going to Mania both nights. I wish we were getting to experience it together but there will be another year I just have a feeling.
