      Are you going to make a video in the future on the pineapple hack where you peel off the individual tidbits one by one, by hand? :P Might be good to show how that viral sensation just isn't worth the effort.

    • @GlenAndFriendsCooking
      @GlenAndFriendsCooking  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      My understanding is that you need a very specific variety of pineapple for that to work - If I can track one down, I'll show the difference.

    You can also break the connection to the root with the palm-smash. Put the stem-end down, and slam your palm down on the root end. It'll make a pretty loud crunching sound, but the paper will prevent any of the cloves from actually squishing. This breaks the connection and lets you twist them out, too.

    And for those of us who you mentioned who steer clear of very sharp knives and hard garlic, get one of those silicone tubes to easily peel garlic. You pop the unpeeled clove in the tube, roll it on the counter a couple of times while pressing down, and shake out the peeled clove. Probably just as quick as your demo and no risk at all. Just another method. 😊 Thanks to both of you for your videos.

      Toad in a hole? You mean Birdie in the Nest? Eggs in a Basket? Eggs in the Nest? Popeye? Bullseye Eggs? *Googles* Huh... Birdie in the Nest is called Toad in a Hole in some places in the states, but in the UK it literally has sausage, which actually makes bloody sense. I still don't understand why some places call a fried egg made in a cutout of a slice of bread Toad in a Hole, it's never made sense, and now having seen that the UK version uses some actual meat for the "Toad" I feel extra justified in feeling the way I do when people call Birdie in the Nest, "Toad in a Hole."

      @@davidferrer678 Well, you might be going on the official stats of the consumption released by our sick governments ? Don't rely on them.
      Our statistics is so crooked , everything is fake. They actually reduce the amount of the quantity because tonnes of raw produce is wasted by our government including watering the grains and legumes to hide their corruption and discard them.
      The reason why the extra garlic or vegetables are picked and thrown or rotted are by government orders to provide income to the middle agents who supply these to the indian consumers from the poor farmers. So, by shrinking the produce they create hysteria for the customer to purchase them before it gets even more expense for one to buy and hence the revenue.
      Nothing released by our government is a fact by diminished values.
