There used to be a huge rock club just outside Hartford that went by many different names during its lifetime, the West Hartford Agora being the most commonly known one. Over the years it hosted many big-time performers such as Santana, Elvis Costello, The Ramones, Jerry Garcia, Peter Gabriel, many others. It closed in 1990 after a group of vandals, no one knows how many as they were never caught, broke in at night and completely destroyed the interior with chainsaws.
I knew the owner of that club. He used to own the Night Owl in Wolcott. I remember seeing Cyndi Lauper, 38 Special and many more. The owner lived next store to me in Wolcott. My brother used to park the cars at Night Owl. Last time I saw him he was living up by Storrs and UCONN. So many great memories of my childhood. That club was called Agora Ballroom
If you’re near NY, Letchworth Village was an insane asylum that was closed many many years ago. I grew up near there and we spent many nights as teenagers exploring the buildings.
@@guynorth3277 I’ve been everywhere in that place and I’ve never felt anything bad. It’s supposedly haunted because tons of people died and there are a bunch of secret rooms with medical equipment where they did experimentations on the patients, but I’ve never experienced anything.

Wow it’s amazing how intact this place still is after being closed for a decade. I read up on it and it seemed like all of the shootings and homicide took place in the parking lot after the club let out. But the place had a lot of well known performers like Faith No More, French Montana, CKY, and more. The place is huge looking. The DA closed it down for being a nuisance bar, and it looks like they’ve done the same with other bars/clubs in the state as well. I mean, I don’t blame them - one shooting is bad enough.. but two? Yikes. The owner tried to defend that because it took place in the parking lot, they had no control over what people did once they left the club.
There are so many shootings in and around nightclubs, that it takes time to find mention of those more than a decade ago. Usually only the "Pulse" attack is mentioned. Then there are arson attacks against nightclubs which are so numerous that one has to be more specific to find information about one.
All of that equipment hanging from the trusses attached to the ceiling is worth a ridiculous amount of money and I'm super surprised it's still hanging up there. Also a lot of the controllers, amps, speakers, etc.. I think that now that this video is out someone will see those and they will be gone very quickly. That's the downside of stuff like this. Is that the locations that have been so far untouched don't last long after videos are made of them, but it is what it is. The people that owned it just left them there for some stupid reason, so it's on them for not putting them in a safe location or selling them themselves. Awesome video though, thanks for sharing it with us!

Glad to see that Chris perhaps took my-and others'--suggestion about the Ramones who we used to see in Dover, NJ. Sad to say, the Dunes of Somers Point NJ was the go-to place to see late-night fights that often resulted in homicide back in the late 1970s.
