This product review is also 2 in 1 filtered (BS+nonstop rambling ). Thank u for being concise n honest. I'm on fence of Kase Wolverine magnetic filters or this 2 in 1 solution. Trying to avoid too many screw on/off glasses in bag.
because the nd and polarizer combo is going on a canon g30 camcorder 58mm lens I do mostly tripod work so I can take the time to hold the filter and rotate for nature shots. No one changes on the fly. So to hold the inner ring with one hand and move the nd slider with the other is no big issue. Can't wait until my adapter comes in. My canon g30 has nd filters built-in but they are automatic and only mick in after fstop 4+ and I cannot enable them at 1.2 aperture. My lens on this beast goes from 26.8-576mm. Good video.... to add I run an adjustable arm with a matt box top flag minus the box to keep light off the lens. Most people are worried about light reflections as I was until I made a flag as my canon lens hood will not be able to be used with this adapter.
Thanks for the quick and straightforward video! Still unsure which version to get, though, ha. Might just do the 2-in-1 and train my left hand to adjust both simultaneously 🤷🏻♂️.
Hey thanks for this nice and quick review! For the ND is clear there is a min/max but regarding CPL? Is there a min/max for the rotation of the polarizer? Thanks in advance!
Sure thing! The CPL version does have a "minimum" but it's hard to find quickly in my experience since there is no definitive/tactile stop to tell you where the CPL is at min or max. It just keeps spinning. The ND has stops in either direction. Hope that makes sense.
@@avanguardian Sure thing! Honestly I much prefer the version without the CPL (I do not take many photos however, mostly video). The non-cpl version still feels as smooth as the first time I used it. It doesn't receive much abuse though.
@@M-Jmedia Thanks but I was wondering if the CPL version would have the vND mechanism get less stiff with use. You did mention in the review that the knobs of ND rotation mechanism were stiff enough to pull the entire CPL. So I was wondering if moving those nobs with time they would get smoother hence easier to control and not drag along CPL too. Sorry for my bad English!
Thanks for you video the 2 in 1 ND+CPL is nice for a still shot because it is controllable, however if it use on a handheld video shooting ( the light of scene keep changing) would the CPL filter become harmful to the shot? I am considering to buy 2in1 or two separated filter😂
Thanks! For Video, I'm finding 5 stops maximum to be plenty for 3.5 aperture video taking on our A6400. However photos can sometimes be a different story if you do take any for long exposure and such.
M&J Media Is there any reason in particular you returned it? I ordered the standard one but messaged the seller I want to swap it for the 2 in 1, now I’m regretting that lol.
@@orlando9666 Wasn't a quality issue by any means. The 2-in-1 was great but when we shot some vlogs and kept moving things around quickly during activities, it's hard to keep track of where the CPL was positioned and could make the shot look funky. Nothing you couldn't fix in post grading but the standard made more sense for our particular usage 👍
Great demo, thanks. A CPL in itself is 1-stop so sometimes that might be all you need depending on what and where you’re shooting✌️🌻

Thank you!
Tried to train my hand but ultimately the version without the CPL is much easier to use on the fly vlogging IMO. Less room for error.
Beautiful vd
Thank you very much, straight to the point
Is it possible to sqrew a rubber hood on the nd+cpl filter?

@@M-Jmedia Got it! And are you noticing the nd rotation is getting smoother with use? P. S. Thanks for the quick response!

You can unscrew/loosen the entire regular VND to achieve the same polarizing effect.
Is it possible to get rid of the polarization completely on the 2 in 1 lens? I'm thinking for the moments where you don't want it
Unfortunately as far as I can tell it never turns completely off but you are able to get it to where it's barely noticeable in most instances
Nice video! I mostly shoot travel videos with sony 18-105mm F4. Is 2-5 stops sufficient? Should I be getting 6-9 stops as well?
Thanks!

@@M-Jmedia thanks great, I use the same camera too. Thanks!
Thanks really helpful
Which one do you recommend?
We ended up returning the 2 in 1 and just keeping the regular 2-5 stop at the end of the day.
