We can’t thank you enough for the amazing praise on our video. We tried to show the real flavor of the neighborhood and we are glad it came through. Sending our love snd Hudson sends big kisses.
Thank you so much for the amazing feedback. Washington Heights is definitely a great place to visit and just by walking around you can not only see the beautiful views from high vantage points including Ft Tryon Park but also experience the local flavor.
Hi Karla & James and Hudson :)... Another great show... You travel so much, and make them so interesting, and fun. It must feet strange visiting a place where the temperature is in the 70's, and then back to normal , just above freezing!! This blog was so interesting too. We love this kind of history, and the art deco that you talk about too. Thank you again for sharing. Take care, and we are looking forward to your next journey. Big hug to Hudson,... All the best 'David & Angela'
Thank you so much for the great feedback David & Angela. We feel so fortunate to be able to safely travel (with Hudson) and show you the many unique places we visit. Hudson of course sends big paws 🐾 up and kisses to you!
Thank you for the video. I grew up in Washington Heights. I especially liked the scene 181st & ST Nicholas Avenue. We used to shop at the F.W. Woolworth's store there (we called it the "5 & 10")
Loved this video! I didn´t know anything about this neighborhood! Thank you guys! It´s very interesting to discover new places. NYC is always showing something new. EXTRA GOOD!
Thank you so much for the love Christian. Washington Heights is definitely an overlooked vibrant neighborhood with a distinct Latino feel and not full of tourists at all. We hope you get a chance to visit it once it is safe to travel again. Hope you are staying safe and healthy in Argentina.
Nice intro to Wash Heights for the uninitiated ...you probably passed my abode as you strolled through Ft Tryon Park..lol. Keep up your labor of love...good work JamesandKarla.
Thank you so much Pizza Rules for watching and giving us such wonderful feedback as we definitely wanted to introduce the neighborhood to people and walking around to see the vibe on the streets is certainly the best way. We thought of you when briefly visiting Ft Tryin as we remember you are close by and will definitely let you know when we return to visit again.
These subway stations are so deep because the terrain above them is so high. It's called Washington Heights for a good reason. Almost directly above the 181st St. A train station is the highest terrain point in Manhattan, in Bennett Park. That was the site of the Revolutionary War Fort Washington.
Yes the neighborhood has such great history and is super hilly. If we remember correctly, the only place higher in the five boroughs is Todt Hill in Staten Island! Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Hi Sonia! There is a mandatory quarantine for 14 days if traveling to NYC as a tourist. Some museums are open but only for timed limited entry while some others remain closed. Indoor dining is closed but there is outdoor dining and takeaway allowed. When indoors and shopping you must wear a mask at all times.
So sorry you missed us! Hudson had to sit this video out as we took the subway to get to Washington Heights as it is a really far distance from our studio in the East Village. Even though I (Karla) did not appear in the video, I still narrated it. And no worries we will be back highlighting our beloved NYC!
This really shows only a little bit of the neighborhood. I don't know why the video makers chose to spend most of the video in a four-block walk up and down St. Nicholas Ave. between 179th and 183rd streets.
We had to leave Hudson at our studio as we took the subway to get to Washington Heights as it is a very long walk from the East Village especially in the rain. No worries though as Hudson usually gets to come and film with us on mist of our videos!
Sadly Hudson stayed home as it is a very far distance to walk from the East Village to Washington Heights as they are on opposite sides/ends of Manhattan so we took the subway.
This was so disappointing...rather than spend so much time in the subway stops, it would have been nice to see 187th St and 181st St. You showed too many fruit stands and this could have been way more interesting.

Hiii! At this time nyc has any restrictions for tourists to enter museums or go out in the city? :)

The old turnstiles, good memories ♥️
Oh yes Susan we love those old turnstiles. They were so heavy too!
No Hudson and no Karla. Please return soon,
FL is sooo boring. The few times I've been
there I couldn't wait to leave.

I was raise and born in Washington hight and the 70 and 80and 90 it was very very wild up there it change up there it aint the way it use to be at all

Yes we had limited time to explore as it was raining very hard before we took this video.
Where was Hudson?
We had to leave Hudson at our studio as we took the subway to get to Washington Heights as it is a very long walk from the East Village especially in the rain. No worries though as Hudson usually gets to come and film with us on mist of our videos!

Shame there is no pride in maintaining the subway station, looks pretty unkempt.
