That feeling of exploration when I was a wee me was amazing. Their ability to truly immerse ourselves in a world unlike our small earths, is amazing. Makes me sad :\ . When I have the time, I'll play this game all over again when I'm fried, cause it'll make enjoying events as if it were the first time
Banjo Threeie should start with faded out scenes of nuts and bolts, the kazooie knocks Banjo on the head awaking him from his sleep (he was dreaming and nuts and bolts was just a dream).
MaitreRyu It was a dream because Banjo enjoyed himself. He got to play with toys like a kid and also relive killing gruntilda, both of those things are his most desired things to do since banjo tooie.
Been 12 years since I got my Banjo Tooie played it 1 year b4 my 64 broke.. bought a new one last month. I searched in my old drawer to find my dear Banjo Tooie game. I put it in the N64 and had the best feeling I've ever had. No1 can beat Rare during the 1990s and Grant Kirkhope's fantastic music!
OMG Ive been playing this on piano for years - Thought I made it up but I knew it was too familiar, and totally clicked on this by accident and made the conenction!
I think this is my favorite Banjo Kazooie music, over Hailfire Peaks and Clanker's Cavern. It has a nostalgic feel to it, particularly the bit at 0:46.
Christmas of '98 and '2000 were made great for me because of Banjo Kazooie. I still have the player's guides and games from those days. I was eight-years-old when I first got my Nintendo 64 with Banjo Kazooie. While everyone was playing Ocarina of Time, I was on this.
I've always loved how Rare almost seem to go out of their way to avoid coming up with new tunes. The part at 0:46 is EXACTLY the same as the melody from click clock wood in the first game, only slowed down and played in a minor key. :)
One of the best games for the 64. The music was impeccable and the game play was par for the course. They don't make classic platform games like this anymore. It saddens me. Yeehaw!
They don't make "classic platform games" like this anymore because you're describing them as "classic platform games". You don't just place a game and think of it as a classic. And, yes, I got what you meant. You meant that they don't make platform games that have the potential to be a classic. So, what I said should just be nitpicking and ultimately irrelevant. But, it's really not. It's the mentality that led you to use the phrase "classic platform games" that disables you from being able to see the more recent classics like Super Mario Galaxy, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Super Mario 3D World. Yes, they don't have that same sort of open concept as the Banjo games did, but that isn't necessarily entirely bad. There are things you can't do with that sort of open concept. And there are things that you can't do with a closed concept. Thought, I will agree that it is kind of sad that no game has ever really attempted to duplicate the sort of open level platforming that the Banjo games have. I read a while ago that Rare (or it could have been some other game company) is trying to make a "spiritual successor" to Banjo Kazooie. In other words, they want to make a game with that sort of open level platforming. I haven't heard anything about it in a long time. Let's just hope it ends up happening and it ends up being added to the list of more recent platforming game classic. And, if you haven't played those games, then you totally should.
Agreed. You don't see games like this anymore.. which is a real shame. I really liked wondering about in the games and collecting things. Nowadays it's just shooting angry birds and killing people without any reason.. :/ Urgh.
TheDisarminghinkle What about "A Hate in Time?" It's a 3D Indie game that's a collectathon like Banjo Kazooie. Plus, the music is being composed by Grant Kirkhope.
Glitter Gulch Mine was always one of my favorite levels, I've always been appreciative of the fictional arts, But wish I could have been more appreciative of *real things* as a kid. Alas, I was a moron and am now little more than a fool.
These banjo kazooie/tooie soundtracks just makes me almost cry, both of how fond the memories of this time as a kid are to but also causeof how sad that that time is gone and the magic with it =(
Glitter Gulch Mine's theme has been stuck in my head every day for what seems like 3 years now. I've stopped listening to music in the car because I'm overtly inclined to sing this ol' ditty. There's nothing like it.
I have a funny story, I used to play this level all the time, and it got to the point that I got my mom hooked to this song so much, she would subconsiously hum it every single day, she would even hum it to my niece and nephew for them to sleep, it kept making me chuckle at it all the time
Me and my best friend sat down to this game about 8 years ago and had a wale of a time. Now 8 years on me and the same friend sat down to my xbox360 and played this once again on the same games. Ah we both went back to the innocence that is childhood. Brings a tear to my eye.
i grew up with thi sgame when i was like 7! i love it sooooooo much! thanks fot having the themes from one of the best Nintendo 64 games ever made. 5 stars!
Got this game for Christmas in 01, woulda have been 10 or 11. Remember sitting outside Wumba's hut listening to the music playing an air-banjo. God dammit this game was so bad ass.
I initially couldn't find the similarities either, but if you listen to 0:45-1:00 on this track, and check out roughty 1:00-1:12 on the click clock wood track (search spring click clock wood on youtube) you can see the similarities quite clearly.
I remember that multiplayer shooting game that came with Banjo Tooie... that shit was so fun. Putting mines around corners and laughing at everyones who dies from them. Back then I was 11 or 12, and my parents wouldn't let me have Goldeneye, so Banjo Tooie was my "Goldeneye". XD It was a damn good replacement though. Banjo Tooie not only had awesome single player but great multiplayer support for it's time.
I'm obviously going to download it too. Got the game though, but I heard rare were planning on online capability for the game. And yea the fact that every world in Tooie was somehow linked to eachother was just awesome. Every jiggy felt unique ;).
I figured it probably wasn't exactly the same thing, but it's good to know for sure from someone who knows what they're talking about. Thanks for the info.
This song makes you wanna grab a old cowboy hat put on some overalls get a banjo, and dance your ass off on the floor... I luv this song as a kid. :D I always put this on when I was doing my homework... and yes Gcube I agree YEE-DIDDLY DAM-HAWW!!!
NNNOOOO!!!!! dont say that!....every game they ever touched was gold, pure gold!!!so much nostalgia i could just cry....remember when everybody got their own spin off from diddy kong racing?,those were the days brohan...a time before everybody grew up playing call of duty and halo and all that evil witchcraft voodoo sorcery scientology pentagram drawing sun worshipping harry potter stuff
Don't worry, you didn't come off as a "know-it-all", just someone who wanted to add some accurate information into a discussion that needed it. I really did appreciate the input, especially since it gave a more professional insight to the topic, something I couldn't have done myself. It's interesting to see the differences that ARE there, despite the similar sound of the two sections. And concerning your last observation... Yes. Yes they are. If only BK 3 had gone in a different direction...
Hey man, they ARE similar, so your point is still well taken (sans "near direct copy"). Also, I was not trying to be a know-it-all or anything, but I feel compelled to give out accurate info wrt things I am knowledgeable about lol. Anyway you look at it, this game (along with the first one), was a work of art on all levels (art direction, music, use of colors, original characters and powers). To be honest, I haven't seen anything quite like BK and BT since they came out. Those are special games!
@KrazyKaz12 I know how you feel. The only difference is that I go the right way, think I'm going the wrong way, turn around and continue until I reach the far side, then get mad because I can't find a warp point...
haha i just started playing this game a few days ago. i played it so much, i picked up my guitar and picked this whole song, cause i spent so much time in that level. it's catchy...
Banjo: Hey, Kazooie! A honeycomb! Let's get it! Kazooie: Banjo, can I ask you something? Banjo: Sure... Kazooie: Does this level and theme music make you feel like you belong here? Plus, your name's Banjo? Banjo: I'm named after an instrument? Cool! Kazooie: ...let's just get the honeycomb...
I have to say, I think one of my top favorite songs from a game was this one (though I liked other from Banjo-Tooie, as well). It just fit the stage really REALLY well. It's catchy, feel-good, it fits Banjo himself, and the stage itself was a lot of fun. ^_^
This game is only 11 days older than me! I played Banjo Kazooie with my brother and Tooie with the same brother, my younger brother and my cousin. I love them. Screw Microsoft and X-Box!
+Rat The Rare that's "still in business" is a pathetic, hollowed out shell of its former self. A lot of the original team has gotten together to form Playtonic Games, working on the first TRUE sequel to Banjo (if only in spirit), entirely crowd-funded to prevent Microsoft coming in to fuck everything up.
@Crazymecrazy12 True true, but thinking now I love music, club life, girls, the whole social scene.. I honestly wonder where everything changed haha, its nice to go back and play this game :D
I've had this song stuck in my head for the past 8 or so years.
Cue the crazy old prospector bursting into the saloon declaring that there is indeed gold in them hills.
"Yeehah!"
*them there hills lol
So many memories. I know what i'm doing when I go home for the summer after this semester ends.
Whenever I have to knock on a door, I always do it to the beat of this song. It's just been a habit I've had since I first played this game.
That feeling of exploration when I was a wee me was amazing. Their ability to truly immerse ourselves in a world unlike our small earths, is amazing. Makes me sad :\ . When I have the time, I'll play this game all over again when I'm fried, cause it'll make enjoying events as if it were the first time
I feel you so hard. Better log on that N64 emulator next time i toke. :)
***** I always love going back to banjo and kazooie, but i can never get used to the emulator controls.
I love it when those billy-bobs go "YEEHAW!" and then you hit them and they shout "OH!".
Rare, you are great at making enemies X3
I can still hope someday for a real BK 3... And no, Nuts and bolts doesn't count.
Nuts and Bolts is not a BK-game. Its a parody.
Banjo Threeie should start with faded out scenes of nuts and bolts, the kazooie knocks Banjo on the head awaking him from his sleep (he was dreaming and nuts and bolts was just a dream).
grtgurtgurdu yurtguighi nightmare. You say nightmare, when it's a "dream" like this.
MaitreRyu It was a dream because Banjo enjoyed himself. He got to play with toys like a kid and also relive killing gruntilda, both of those things are his most desired things to do since banjo tooie.
+grtgurtgurdu yurtguighi
or maybe Nuts and Bolts was a Nightmare both Banjo and Grunty had because of a new enemy

I think this is my favorite Banjo Kazooie music, over Hailfire Peaks and Clanker's Cavern.
It has a nostalgic feel to it, particularly the bit at 0:46.
For 10 years i have sang / hummed this tune basically every day!
Christmas of '98 and '2000 were made great for me because of Banjo Kazooie. I still have the player's guides and games from those days. I was eight-years-old when I first got my Nintendo 64 with Banjo Kazooie. While everyone was playing Ocarina of Time, I was on this.
banjo kazooie and banjo tooie one of the best hosts of the greatest videogame themes ever!
Nostalgia overload :')
I've always loved how Rare almost seem to go out of their way to avoid coming up with new tunes.
The part at 0:46 is EXACTLY the same as the melody from click clock wood in the first game, only slowed down and played in a minor key. :)
I KNEW IT SOUNDS FAMILIAR
10 years later, I can still hum every note.
One of the best games for the 64. The music was impeccable and the game play was par for the course. They don't make classic platform games like this anymore. It saddens me. Yeehaw!

Classic in the general sense. Im not referring strictly to older games. I have played those games and they are good.
*****
That could be what I read about. I have no idea. It was so long ago at this point. When will/did it come out?
Glitter Gulch Mine was always one of my favorite levels, I've always been appreciative of the fictional arts, But wish I could have been more appreciative of *real things* as a kid. Alas, I was a moron and am now little more than a fool.
Good times. Good times.
These banjo kazooie/tooie soundtracks just makes me almost cry, both of how fond the memories of this time as a kid are to but also causeof how sad that that time is gone and the magic with it =(

I just graduated high school 2 weeks ago, and coming here just takes me all the way back into 2nd grade dude! I love the memories!!!
Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie have the best video game soundtrack I've ever heard!
I played this song on my iPod out loud when I went on a mine tour. Everyone loved it.
The memories.
The music in this game really brings you back to being a little kid^^
this is one of my fav video game tunes of all time!
I have goosebumps right now , banjo your and banjo kazooie music is SO nostalgic :(
I mean :) not :(
This really brings me back a few years...this level of this video game was probably the first video game I ever played.
Me and my best friend sat down to this game about 8 years ago and had a wale of a time. Now 8 years on me and the same friend sat down to my xbox360 and played this once again on the same games. Ah we both went back to the innocence that is childhood. Brings a tear to my eye.
i remember all the great moments of my childhood playing on this game and the other nintendo 64 games and this music make me :'(

This is the one song that I can always call to memory whenever I want to, and I haven't played the game in 10 years.
RIP Rareware... you guys were the ELITE of video game programmers...
this was game was so good that I get nostalgia from hearing this music, but I played it for the first time 3 months ago.
i love playing this song on the piano it brings back so many memories :/ *cries*
lol

finding your way around this place is hard, but always fun
Great theme, one of the best. The start gives me the image of someone being kicked.
God, this brings back memories...
So nostalgic.
This music is eternally ingrained into my head.
God, this brings me back. I love this game.
hell this brings back great memories-makes me want to pull out the N64 again
I remember that multiplayer shooting game that came with Banjo Tooie... that shit was so fun. Putting mines around corners and laughing at everyones who dies from them.

Banjo Tooie not only had awesome single player but great multiplayer support for it's time.
My favorite level and song of this one, second only to MMM. It's so much fun recreating the main part with anything that's around. ^_^
goooosh...
this makes my heart beating faster. very nice memories coming into my mind atm :D
thank you for uploading this!
Ah, the memories of spending days playing multiplayer with friends. I think I'm going to start playing my old and wrinkly 64 now!
I'm obviously going to download it too. Got the game though, but I heard rare were planning on online capability for the game. And yea the fact that every world in Tooie was somehow linked to eachother was just awesome. Every jiggy felt unique ;).
One of my favorite games no doubt. Every game that Rare makes is a masterpiece! YES!
I figured it probably wasn't exactly the same thing, but it's good to know for sure from someone who knows what they're talking about. Thanks for the info.
Canary Mary used to scare the hell out of me, and so did the billy bobs that always went, "YEE HAW"!
Still a great level.
This song makes you wanna grab a old cowboy hat put on some overalls get a banjo, and dance your ass off on the floor... I luv this song as a kid. :D I always put this on when I was doing my homework... and yes Gcube I agree YEE-DIDDLY DAM-HAWW!!!
"this is the best piece of music in the entire game"-Time Magazine
So many memories!
@xoGdimondxo Love how I can read that and the exact sounds are instantly generated in my head xD
One of my fav cuts off this game. Like most people, I miss the old Rare dayz.
DOWN SOUTH!!!
Oh the memories oh THE FREAKIN MEMORIES!!!
best music from banjo kazooie and banjo-tooie
I've caught myself humming this song at random times in the day.
This music makes me remember.. I fucking love this game

The thing I loved about the Banjo games was it had various colorful worlds fom beaches to volcanoes god kinda envy the bears dangerous adventures.
This was my favorite level of the game.
Loved this game. This my second favorite song! :D
@KrazyKaz12 I know how you feel. The only difference is that I go the right way, think I'm going the wrong way, turn around and continue until I reach the far side, then get mad because I can't find a warp point...
This song is tattooed into my mind.
That was the best Banjo-Kazooie game ever.
eri now i'm gonna listen to banjo music all night
best song in the game!! i love this video game
haha i just started playing this game a few days ago. i played it so much, i picked up my guitar and picked this whole song, cause i spent so much time in that level. it's catchy...
Nuts and bolts is a BK wet fart.
***** interesting choice of words
Banjo: Hey, Kazooie! A honeycomb! Let's get it!
Kazooie: Banjo, can I ask you something?
Banjo: Sure...
Kazooie: Does this level and theme music make you feel like you belong here? Plus, your name's Banjo?
Banjo: I'm named after an instrument? Cool!
Kazooie: ...let's just get the honeycomb...
This has a very "I'm taking my sister to the ball" vibe to it.
this is one of my top favorite levels in the game
YEE-HAA!!
I remember when I played this game, and the L and the I were next to each other in the title, and I always thought it was "Gutter Gulch Mine" xD
I have to say, I think one of my top favorite songs from a game was this one (though I liked other from Banjo-Tooie, as well).

IAmRodyle At least we got Viva Pinata.
Viva Pinata: The Best Game Nobody Played

Kazooie- I told you this wasn't going to be a good idea, Banjo.
*Banjo sighs*
Kazooie- Told you so!!!
my favorite tune from the game
Catchiest soundtrack ever
I hated going to this place when i was little, i got lost so easily lol. But Banjo Tooie is pretty much at the top of my list as best game ever.
@B1ushMoe I have played wow sense 2004 and Banjo Kazzoie and Tooie until this day, and you sir made an epic fail move.
@Crazymecrazy12 True true, but thinking now I love music, club life, girls, the whole social scene.. I honestly wonder where everything changed haha, its nice to go back and play this game
:D
@Animalguy001 well its not as hard as it sounds, but ill upload a vidoe of my banjo songs on piano sometime
Oh, the childhood memories...
