Just tried the Pro and compared it against a few racquets (Ezone 98, Pro Staff 97 V14, Pro Staff 6.1 Classic 95, Technifibre TF40, Gravity MP 2021, Tempo 298). First impression is that it does not feel like a PS. It feels to me like if Wilson had mixed the Ezone 98 with a Blade V9 18x20. Nice low launch angle with nice unexpected spin and quite a bit of power. I actually liked it more than the Ezone 98, but again it is not a PS. It's a whole different racquet. I also liked the RF01 Pro on my 2 handed backhand. Very solid.
I thought the PSVS was going to be it for me. But nooo wilson had to come out with this. Seems to be perfect for my game. Thanks for convincing me Beckett
@@18yearsoldnot its quite hollow and theres a certain ping sound on the hoop if you dont lead tape it. But so far for me its really good and its helped elevate my offensive game a lot. But RF pro seems to be calling me
@@Yo_keebs interesting. I just got myself a swing weight machine and I am honestly glad (even though it costs a more than a few frames). I have the Prince tour 95 which in my opinion is more of a players frame and now I can just increase the swing weight and make it play powerful
Very cool. I play with the blade 98 and I used to play with pro staffs. I find the blade is a much more user friendly pro staff with softer feel and flex. Where does this new Rf line fit with the others ? Does it not just replace the blade? Or is it a blade with a bit more spin and power but stiffer ?
This has to be the 1st clean outro in TennCom history 😂 As for the RF 01, I'm definitely intrigued enough to give it an eventual demo. Do you feel the die-hard Pro Staff and RF 97'ers will take a liking to this model, Beckett 🤔
They will. It's the latest model and screams RF from every angle, even the butt cap. And the marketing tale will stick. But most importantly: they can finally enjoy playing with it.
Regarding the softness of the Gravity MP, I've found out that firmer strings compensate for its low RA. That and a few grams in the hoop and handle... I'm in love.
You’re awesome! So you mentioned you’re leaning now more towards power 100’s…. So are you considering a switch from the whiteout? What power 100’s do you enjoy? Would love a New Power Racket journey series from you. I too am moving in that direction preferring the racket to give me all I need and to force me to focus on learning to control it. It’s fun to be able to hit clean winners with 80% effort strokes.
I have never seen you as excited as in the first half of the video. And I would immediately order it if I hadn't already got my racquets of choice already. But I do recommend it to my clubmates for demoing.
How would you compare the RF-01 Pro (and maybe the 300g) to the radical pro? It seems like both racquets are pretty well-rounded, control frames, but what types of players would use one over the other?
welcome back RF 🔥🔥👏👏 went through tennis finder website and found that the pro 01 specs are close to blade V4 (all black), and Radical Pro 360+ ('21) both of which are in my collection.. I wonder how it feels compared to those my guess would be middle in terms of feel, less than blade since that one is a box 18x20 if it gets close, I might have to switch from my cx200t
Love your honesty Beckett and although I love RF my whole life, it seems like another generic tweener 98 amongst the billions of tweener 98s on the market with “RF” slapped on it and all the hype surrounding it. After viewing all the reviews so far including yours Beckett, it doesn’t seem to shine in any department and seems to be as muted as any other current frames. If only they made it glossy it wouldn’t look as cheap as it is now.
Thanks! I think its a good one to consider if you happen to need a new frame but I don't think it necessarily adds much to a collection and I don't think it'll blow anyone away.
Love your videos but I have a question will these rackets have a newer versions next year like rf 02 or is it this one only ever made? Please answer this question because it will help me a lot
@@TennCom Thanks so much I love your videos and love Federer to have been playing with his pro staff since I was 5 I was kinda shocked ot was not a new pro staff. Anyway thank you so much I have always come to your channel to get good racket reviews.😊
@@TennCom I really think this will sell but not many people know about this racket and I was shocked 😲. I have already bought it haven't tried it cause it's a birthday gift but looks amazing
Hello, I just picked up one for demo and was very surprised when we measured the swing weight at the tennis shop, 317, but I see it’s suppose to be at 331 from what I have read on tennis ware house. I don’t know if this is a quality control issue from Wilson. But, there is a big difference between 331 as advertised and 317 on this racket.
None of the racquet manufacturers share swingweights. As much as I would like consistent SW and wish it was advertised by the racquet company, this kind of swingweight variance is pretty normal
There is a lighter version of the RF-01 dubbed the "Future" barring a 280g unstrung weight. It would be an interesting platform racket to customize. I'm interested in getting the Standard model when it becomes available in my area. The 300g is a good starting point like most players would pick. I have heard that TennisNerd recommends to string at a lower tension, around sub-50, to really knock in that ball pocketing sensation. What would you say is the best "low-tension" poly on the market?
im using the RF01 305g with Restring Zero and i would like to make an hybrid with Natural gut on the cross, what tension do you recommend? im currently using String Zero at 50lb
I have a question, I play with a Pure Aero Rafa 2023 and it weighs 290 grams, we know that this RF01 has a 300g version and another 280g version. I also have a Pure Aero 280g and I feel that I can hit harder on forehands. So I don't know which RF to choose, I'm 28 years old and I have an intermediate level.
The second that my video said foam filled I immediately thought torsion compromise and a lack of stability. I understand they're going for lightness but I'm used to my Gravity Pro for over a year now and that's a deal-breaker I need a stable racket. I'll probably test an RF Pro but I think I'm not going to go near it purchase wise until a couple years of development make it a better racket. Very interesting commentary on the ease of slicing a backhand slice. Do you think this will be easier on the arm, elbow and shoulder? I realize the foam is there to combat vibration. I'm just not sure in the long run whether it's a keeper. The best description I have heard is this racket plays as if the Prostaff and the Shift had a baby. I'm actually looking for another Head Gravity Pro so that if I break a string I always have another racket in the bag to go to. Beckett I'm going to disagree with you on the RF Pro being a better racket than the Regna just on construction I see a flaw in that statement. I've never used a racket yet that doesn't compromise when you get free power from the frame, in this case stability is a major concern I have. Thanks for the video interesting rocket for sure but this is going to take some time to get it perfect I reckon another 2 years to be honest.
I didn't say the RF is better than the Regna. I think that part wasn't super clear in the video. I prefer hitting with the Regna for sure. It feels special and the construction is undeniably excellent. The RF is way easier to use, way more stable, way more spin friendly. If I had to play a match, I'd pick the RF all day. If I was just rallying, I'd pick the Regna all day. If I had to pick one to keep in my collection for life it would be the Regna no doubt. I don't understand your comment about foam reducing torsional stability or comprising the integrity of the structure. All foam does is change the hitting sound to make things feel more solid. The presence of foam does not mean there's less graphite, it just means the chamber is filled with foam instead of air.
I haven't tried the 300 yet but I don't expect it to outperform the Pure Aero 98. Even the Pro was less stable than the Aero 98 and the swing-feel is quite similar. The RF01 might have more control and feel, but I don't think those things translate to more wins if you are disciplined about playing percentage tennis, which I think is key when selecting a racquet for winning matches. For strings I definitely think stiffer and crisper is the way. Tour Bite, Lynx Tour, ALU/4G, Tour Sniper etc. I don't think soft and muted would work just like they didn't play well in the Blades.
Feel is quite different. The WO feels closer to a PS97, stiff, firm, crisp, connected. The RF01 is plusher and feels more like a gravity mp without as much flex. Spin, stability, feel goes to the WO imo. Speed, Power on centr and comfort to the RF.
Sorry I didn’t quite understand whether you prefer the regna or this pro staff? It wasn’t clear which you are holding when you say you llike it better. Also can you elaborate on that comparison? Great video thanks!
Oh yeah I liked both the Regna and Prostaff better. For matches I might choose the RF01 just for the extra forgiveness but I much prefer hitting with the other two. Especially the Regna.
i am really scared of that 320gr unstrung. although SW is only 325 ? What can i expect vs rackets that are 300gr but with same SW (325) ? PLayed the v9 blades and i they feeled pretty comfortable to use and swing actually
I wish they made a blade like rf100 like a 21mm thin D shaped beam with a powerful and forgiving feel. That would be the dream… like something close to a ps x but at different weights and maybe even a 16/20. It’s a shame you can’t find stuff like that on the market. Really sucks🙃
Feels less direct, less precise, more powerful on centre but less stable off centre. Spin is better with the WO imo. I prefer the WO still but I see the value in the RF01 and think most players will prefer the plushness of the RF.
The WO is firmer and more connected. Better directional control and spin. When spec’s up to similar weight, the RF Pro feels faster and swings cleaner. Better for 1hbh or eastern forehands. WO is more stable off centre but has less power on centre. I still prefer my WO.
Hey Mr. Chungus! I just ordered the Pro version and was debating between using Tour Sniper or M8 for this beautiful racquet. And using between 46 and 50 of tension for either one. What would your recommendation be?
@TennCom - I use the KBlade 98 18X20 as my main racket along with the Blade CV 18X20 as the back up. In terms of weight and the String Pattern (16X19) would I be able to adjust to the RF 01 Pro? Thanks!
@@TennComCould you elaborate on the challenges. I really love that ploy through on the pro staffs, but with a more forgiving racket would be incredible.
@@abhinavduda its so headlight whereas the kBlade is more even balance. The Solinco Whiteout or even the Strike 98 would probably be an easier transition.
I prefer the Pure Strike. I think it hits a heavier ball, feels at least as connected, hit much better topspin, feels more stable. It's not as precise but I'm pretty confident I'd win more points in the long run with the Strike.
How do you compare this one with a Vcore 95 , Percept 310g and PS V13 315g. I am using the PS V13 but I have been testing other frames as my game is with lots of spin. I noticed Vcore 95 give me crazy spin but control is an issue there. Percept is similar to PS V13 but a bit softer. Any thoughts?
I can't really remember playing the v13 tbh. Been to long since I hit it. I really have been enjoying the VC95 lately. Control can be remedied with a stiffer string and some tail weight. I like might with a leather grip and Confidential 16. I do think I slightly prefer the v14 Prostaff but there's a fun factor to the VC95 that makes me incapable of selling it.
@@TennCom I think I will prefer this one on my backhand but on all the other shots the prostaff haha . My one handed backhand is much better with more powerful rackets
I picked this raquet up loved the feel precision etc. But really playing some sets it had the exact oposite impact on my backhand. The swingweight just feels so low Im losing solid contact on that side and my backhand sits up. I feel like I need more effort on every shot too. Coming from pure strike pro. I'm cautios about weighing it up because its already a 320 and I know close to nothing about modification.
With an unstrung SW only in the low-mid 280's, the 300g is really a platform stick, meant for customization (via hoop lead and handle counter-balance), and will play much better with 4-6g lead at 9 & 3 or 10 & 2.
Beckett is this Rafa's 2010 USO shirt? It looks fantastic! great on you too. That draw my attention more than the legendary RF. Btw i asked you about aero Rafa 290 few days ago in your 'Best rackets for winning matches' did you notice that? TW of aero Rafa

Hey Beckett I have been following you for a while now , could you recommend me a string for volleys and drop shots I use Wilson blade feel 100 286 g I think hyper g is not good for drop shots please recommend
Thanks for watching! I'd highly recommend trying Polytour Pro, it's softer and more predictable than Hyper-G, two things I love for touch shots and net play.
Hello mate please could you help me I wasn to get the new rf01 pro but I’m really confused what strings to get in this racket I would love to get the champions choice like Federer does but I know it’s very expensive, what string’s would you recommend with this racket any help would be much appreciated
@@TennCom yes I bet but unfortunately to expensive do you have any other recommendations I know you know a lot about strings so would really appreciate your advice
@@vdlorenzo2578 Something like Grapplesnake Tour Mako, which is a full poly, soft of replicates the super soft playability of gut but it also offers very strong directional control due to the sandpapery texture. I'll make a review soon. If that's not available for you I think Lynx Tour at 48lbs would work well too
@@TennCom ok interesting would love to see a video iv never heard much about that string before, I actually contacted Wilson for there advice they said to use the LNX Alu power as it provides a great combination of power and control or alternatively LNX Eco power 17 for a slightly less stiff swing with more spin potential. What are your thoughts on this ? Also iv heard hyper g is very good so you like this sting?
What string setup would you recommend? Currently using gut/poly hybrid. I remember that the RF97 really punished you a bit more if you went full poly and came alive with the hybrid. Is it similar on the Pro, or is it more geared toward a fully poly bed?
Hard to say exactly due to quality control and large switch weight variance. I barely remember the v13, but the v14 swing fast but you have to work for it more due to swingweight. The 01 Pro swings fast and easy.
@@TennCom so you'd say that if a 4.5 47 yo would like an easier to handle racket, moving down to the rf 01 pro from a ps97 v14 makes sense? I recently bought a blade 98 v9 16x19 and didnt like the lack of stability compared to the ps 97 v14. Im just concerned about the static weight of the RF01 which is even slightly more than 315 of the ps97 v14
God damn and i bought speed pro.. hope to see this stick on top of end of year tier list. I wonder if this 320 swings faster than my 320 yonex 97hd with thin beam..
Thank you so much for this video ! Can you compare it to the head radical? (btw they made an 18/20 version would be so good if you review it ) love ur work !!
I much prefer this to the radical. Better spin production and feel. More power on centre. Maybe less stability than the MP, but no losses compared to the Pro. The 18x20 is interesting but I already felt like the launch angle was so low with the Rads that I can’t see myself like the tighter pattern.
I tried the Blade V9 18x20 and the RF01 pro. The RF01 is more muted, the launch angle is a bit lower than the Blade, The RF01 is faster through the air, it has a bit more spin, and I could get better placement with the RF. All that being said the Blade is 20 grams lighter. The RF01 300g needs customization to get it to feel the same. It's weak and unstable in stock form.
@@gab_ale so interesting. I tried rf01 pro and rf01 and blade both 16x19 and 18x20. I had the opposite feedback. I feel blade has more muted feedback and softer feel and better control while rf has more power
@@LQNYC11111 What strings were on the racquets you tried? The RFs I have are freshly strung with Alu Power at 53 lb. Don't remember what the Blade had. Tension felt the same on the Blade. I could definitely hit harder and hit spots better with the RF than with the Blade. The Blade was also more difficult to maneuver, but I guess that could be fixed making it more headlight.
Very similar specs to an Ezone 98 - variable beam 21.5 to 23 back to 21.5 - same RA - same balance and a dense 16 x19 pattern for control. Main difference is the same, full of foam and the weight.

Same I main PSVS but RF Pro really makes me giddy to preorder it
@@Yo_keebs tricky. Is the psvs filled with anything or is it hollow like most babolats?
This has to be the 1st clean outro in TennCom history 😂
As for the RF 01, I'm definitely intrigued enough to give it an eventual demo.
Do you feel the die-hard Pro Staff and RF 97'ers
will take a liking to this model, Beckett 🤔
They will.
It's the latest model and screams RF from every angle, even the butt cap.
And the marketing tale will stick.
But most importantly: they can finally enjoy playing with it.

how does it compare to pro staff 97 v14?
HEY kislux !! I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
Very cool looking grass court!
Great video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Now I want one!
Regarding the softness of the Gravity MP, I've found out that firmer strings compensate for its low RA. That and a few grams in the hoop and handle... I'm in love.
Love your videos
Hi Beckett. Great review! How would you compare this with Pure Aero 98? Especially the maneuverability.
I’m really liking the PA Rafa 290 and the Boom MP. Racquet journey stuff will come when I feel more certain about the switch
That’s funny as I’m also messing with a Boom MP with a leather grip and some weight at 3 and 9. Great stick and looks amazing!
Beckett: Did the RF emblem on the buttcap feel sharp on the hand? Or was it ok?
It wasn’t really noticeable to me
Interesting. I’m looking forward to new tfight
I have never seen you as excited as in the first half of the video.
And I would immediately order it if I hadn't already got my racquets of choice already.
But I do recommend it to my clubmates for demoing.
Strong “coffee” that day
Sounds like they but a little of the shift racquet in the slice shots. I wonder what that’s like on a slice serve 😮
Could you make a comparison video of the RF 01 Pro vs Ezone 98 Tour? Cheers!
overall which would you choose for competition? RF 01 pro or pro staff 97 v14? Thank you for the review brother!
RF01 no doubt. The extra forgiveness would go a long way in a match,
How would you compare the RF-01 Pro (and maybe the 300g) to the radical pro? It seems like both racquets are pretty well-rounded, control frames, but what types of players would use one over the other?
welcome back RF 🔥🔥👏👏
went through tennis finder website and found that the pro 01 specs are close to blade V4 (all black), and Radical Pro 360+ ('21)
both of which are in my collection.. I wonder how it feels compared to those
my guess would be middle in terms of feel, less than blade since that one is a box 18x20
if it gets close, I might have to switch from my cx200t
For me racket named after the player I would like it to be the one they used on tour, they can produce a “team” model for greater audience
Never mind the racket what about that grass court - it's beautiful!
Got the Pro coming. Not sure if I want all poly or a blend. No lead needed on the head??
for the RF 01 Pro, what string and tension do you recommend pairing?
I would personally do Grapplesnake Tour Sniper 125 at 50lbs
Did wilson just release a pure strike? The beam and head shape?
Nah swings way faster and should work way better for eastern fh grip
Love your videos but I have a question will these rackets have a newer versions next year like rf 02 or is it this one only ever made? Please answer this question because it will help me a lot
I doubt anyone has an answer to this question right now. If they sell I'm sure v2's will come. If not then they'll probably cancel the line.
@@TennCom Thanks so much I love your videos and love Federer to have been playing with his pro staff since I was 5 I was kinda shocked ot was not a new pro staff.

I heard that they've changed to a rectangular grip shape on this?
I didn’t notice it being that rectangular
Will be getting the 300g one. Switch or not, I still think this one is at least collection worthy.
+1lbs on your mains, from where you were before, and +3lbs on your crosses
I have a question, I play with a Pure Aero Rafa 2023 and it weighs 290 grams, we know that this RF01 has a 300g version and another 280g version. I also have a Pure Aero 280g and I feel that I can hit harder on forehands. So I don't know which RF to choose, I'm 28 years old and I have an intermediate level.
you should prob go for the 300g version. No need to save weight with the RF Future as a 28 year old adult
Best strings for power and spin on the RF-01?
How does the rf01 and the rf01 pro compare to the current ezone 98?
Would you add this or the 300 version to one of your "best rackets to win matches" list? Also what strings would you recommend for this?
Thanks Beckett! How does it compare to Solinco whiteout 18x20? Is it a lot more launchier? Similar feel?
Feel is quite different. The WO feels closer to a PS97, stiff, firm, crisp, connected. The RF01 is plusher and feels more like a gravity mp without as much flex. Spin, stability, feel goes to the WO imo. Speed, Power on centr and comfort to the RF.
wish it was either a glossy black or a deep matte jet black
Don’t be scared of the 320g. Weight is a good thing. More power, control and comfort.
Must be qc, a lot of the other reviewers and playtesters have their pro versions at 330+ swing weight and the 300g version at 320 or lower.
I wish they made a blade like rf100 like a 21mm thin D shaped beam with a powerful and forgiving feel. That would be the dream… like something close to a ps x but at different weights and maybe even a 16/20. It’s a shame you can’t find stuff like that on the market. Really sucks🙃
Great review 👏 Did you add lead to 12 o'clock?
stock!
On the comment on being artificially softened, do you now think the previous gen speed MP is better overall than the current one? Thanks!
No I like the higher SW if the new one
Is it similar to the yonex ezone? Can't help but notice that it looks similar. Might get this new racquet tbh.
It is similar. More spin and control, maybe not as forgiving.
Liking your Solinco Whiteout 18x20 anymore, and how would you say this RF-01 Pro compares?
Feels less direct, less precise, more powerful on centre but less stable off centre. Spin is better with the WO imo. I prefer the WO still but I see the value in the RF01 and think most players will prefer the plushness of the RF.

@@TennCom Dang Luka, couldn't you measure quickly?
Can you please compare it to the whiteout 18-20. I really would like to hear how they fare against each other.

I'd probably do Sniper at 48lbs. Have fun with it! It's a sweet stick.
Is this easy for your arm?
Will it be more responsive with gut/poly hybrid or should we increase its spin with spin string?
I’d go full poly since there was a ton of power as is

Doable but not the easiest transition possible.
How would you compare this against the Blade Pro?
I’ve only ever hit that frame with syngut sadly so can’t say
Would welcome your view on the 2024 Babolat Pure Strike 98 vs Wilson RF-01 Pro
I prefer the Pure Strike. I think it hits a heavier ball, feels at least as connected, hit much better topspin, feels more stable. It's not as precise but I'm pretty confident I'd win more points in the long run with the Strike.
Reminds me of the babolat pure strike tour.
How does this compare/contrast to the Ezone 98?
More power and forgiveness from the weight but less stability. I think spin might be better with the EZone too. I probably prefer the feel on the RF
@@TennCom Do you prefer this one? or Prostaff?
@@andonivr i prefer the prostaff

Feels like full poly is probably the way but I’m sure natty g would work since it’s for fed afterall
Depends on what kind of poly you use anyway.
On my Regna I am at my maximum tolerance of power with full poly already.
How heavy does it swing vs the PS 97 v14 or PS 97 v13? Which feels heavier?
Hard to say exactly due to quality control and large switch weight variance. I barely remember the v13, but the v14 swing fast but you have to work for it more due to swingweight. The 01 Pro swings fast and easy.

How does RF01 compare with Blade 98 V9
I've only tried the Pro but IMO its better in every conceivable way. That said I really do not like the Blade and haven't since V6 (Counterveil).
