@@shadowopsairman1583 Second Genesis Wave was a reboot. The Mecha Sally arc never got resolved in the old timeline, either. Worse than that, the SatAM cast have been basically MURDERED since they won't show up in the IDW comics even though SEGA legitimately owns them.
Fun Fact: there was actually going to be an actual Sonic SatAM game for the Sega Genesis, but it was cancelled, however there is some gameplay footage of it.

I agree. Sonic AT AM was basically a space opera/sci-fi fantasy that wasn't afraid to be mature. Modern Sonic is just Dragon Ball Z for furries.

@@mightyfilm That's because they weren't very good. SatAM was alright but I didn't understand why the lead writer on it thought the games weren't interesting enough. It's like all the color from Sonic got drained out in this cartoon. AoSTH may have had worse animation but at least it was done by someone who didn't think the games were a waste of time and it showed. OVA was the best though.
@@NotaPizzaGRL neither of the USA shows cared about the games and OVA was essentially constant pointless filler and battles with no actual reason to exist. AoSTH was really funny though.

Honestly, I’m surprised the characters of this show never appeared in any of the games, past or present. Which sucks, because they were actually pretty interesting. Oh well, I guess they’re stuck in the comics.

This remix is beautiful, but it now makes me sad because the singer for the LatAm Spanish version of the Sonic SATAM intro died some weeks ago due to COVID. 😭

Besides that, New Year's Day was off to a depressing and creepy start in 2020, prior to Issue 24 of the Sonic IDW being published on the 25th of December, in 2019.

I'm going to say that this anime got Susumu Matsushita's design and it was made by Tatsunoko Productions with Sega Corporation's license.
There were talks of a Sonic game that would based on the cartoon but was cancelled early in development. Characters like Sally do make appearances in Sonic Spinball
Not just talks. Sonic-16, as the unreleased title was tentatively known, had genuine footage that's been shown online depicting one of the deliberately slower & more time management-based "stealth" missions (view Sonic as if he were Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid for an apt comparison), ending with a meetup with Princess Sally (possibly outside of a midway checkpoint rendezvous location or a pathway leading to another level), but fans who only view Sonic as a reckless blue steak who just storms through game stages called zones meanwhile taking unprotected hits from badnik henchmen are players simply failing to recognize nor actively care about the timing & strategy aspects of the games, alongside Sonic himself as a character oftentimes not thinking far enough ahead (which, admittedly, is all true, however, thoughtlessly running headlong into trouble is a known flaw of Sonic's core character, which is exactly the reason why he's needs more grounded, mindful characters like Princess Sally to essentially do the preplanning & strategic maneuvers for him as the "brains of the operation/outfit" to matchup with his heroic brawn).

For the vocal version, the second half may have worked better if you took the vocals from the end credits so it doesn't have the background sounds.

Wow! The vocals really adds to it. I never watched or knew anything about this cartoon or any of the others, the only ones i've watched is The Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog and Sonic X.
It's considered one of the greatest Sonic shows of all time, even though ABC got it cancelled early. It's on DVD, maybe you'll find it.

I remember seeing 2 episodes of this on the VHS player when I was a kid. The ones I saw was super sonic and the one where robotnik kidnapped sally and made a robot clone of her to find the resistance hideout.

I'd love that. This is great but it's a little jarring to hear this much audio and it kind of cancels out the suspension of disbelief for me. I doubt that they could've put all the lyrics in on an actual Genesis cartridge unless it was on steroids.

Yeah that’s fair. It really depends on which episodes you watch though. A lot of them are filler for the actual plot which is pretty interesting and cool.
