Hey Alex, I’m a huge marvel snap player, but sometimes I feel like I’m just looking up other decks and taking other decks instead of being creative. Maybe for a new episode, you guys could go into tips for deck building. A true guide to looking at your collection and figuring out the do’s and dont’s. Sometimes I just get too overwhelmed and feel like my personal decks don’t have much structure. If there was a way to better explain curve, synergy, etc. that would be awesome
I’m the opposite I may take decks that are made and ad my own spice to it. I can never copy paste a deck unless I truly love it. Always been a creative guy
Ben Brode himself described pixels as polarizing, but the words "Polarizing" and "Most Common" should never apply to the same thing in your game. I understand some people like them and want them, that's fine then make them Super Rare and the fans can pay 1200 gold for them while the rest of us get something that actually looks good.
Reading this comment after pulling Pixel Wasp in my season pass. I feel this so hard, it's such a slap in the face to pull that pixel garbage as a 'reward.'
kitty pryde is such a versatile (and possibly OP) card because not only is she a powerful turn 6 play, but also by going back to the player's hand she drops priority protecting her from Shang/Killmonger
What I love about the new system is that not hitting the card you want, gets you something cool. Imagine not hitting the card, and getting an avatar. Getting variants it’s a GREAT system. Because it will never feel like a loss. The absolutely Worst case scenario will be a “meh”
Spiderman 29 is my favorite card! I'm glad you gave spiderman 29 a shout out in this! I've never seen any other channels talk about him. I greatly appreciate it lads! Big ups to you lads
Always appreciate the content, this is the only podcast I've ever kept up with every episode! I know you guys often have a segment where you talk about your favourite decks at the time and I was thinking that it would be cool if you lined that up with the release of Infinite Conquest in the future. Talking about these the day before it releases each month would make it feel more topical and give us better insight into what decks you guys will personally be running in Infinite. Then you could even do an Infinite Conquest report the following week with how many you won and what decks you did end up using for those successful runs etc. Also posted this on Cozy's episode in hopes of it getting noticed but regardless, keep up the great work!
Just wanted to say this while its still fresh in my head. Wasp should have this text added to her ability 'the first time this card is played....' imo since atm between bounce and lockjaw decks Wasp is way too op being effectively a 0/5 so this will lower that to 0/3 (which is still great) and she is still useful as a lockjaw token.
The problem with this spotlight cache system is that it becomes so useless once you own most S4 and S5 cards. But I’m still missing so many S3 cards. Really don’t know what to spend my tokens and credits on atp
S3 was always meant to be part of the collection track. This game should be play games to upgrade cards and unlock new ones. That’s the system they built around. However, this left ftp players far behind due to the rarity of unlocking the s4 and s5 cards. This led to the token shop upgrades and ultimately, to the new caches.
3:33 I hope they make a serious draft mode. I have 0 faith SD could maintain a rotating format. But a draft mode that blocks some broken interactions (can’t get mostly 9* power cards and then opponent gets option to draft valk, Shang, etc.) One of the best parts about this game is unique deckbuilding. But if you play the game or look at untapped, there’s not even 10 decks being routinely played. Power creep isn’t fixing it, because it’s just a bunch of min/maxers swapping in crept cards, like HE and Ham
Hawkeye should shoot “arrows” like Wasp shoots stingers to afflict negative power. 1 cost need to do SOMETHING that’s worth it! Doesn’t need to be overkill cuz they are just destined to be destroyed or countered easily but they gotta be worth playing just like any card
Btw imo the best way to rate a card based on the spotlight cache system would be: S+ tier-if it was the only good cars you'd still open the caches, S tier-2 good cards, A tier- 3 good cards and finally B tier (and lower) all 4 (or the other 3 i guess) cards must be bangers). If you need any additional help with polls, rating systems or whatnot for the podcast I work for in game gold but I'm not cheap. Thank you Btw another great podcast-one might even say it's a great day to be a pod cast enjoyer.
Titania is a 1/5 I can drop last turn. I can't drop a Kitty or Nebula last turn. I think it's about the decks they are made for. Look at Polaris being a 3/5 and no one trips. I don't really ever disagree but I'm sorry. I think the 1 costs are fine and it's the player mentality that's a little broken on this one.
do you guys not think the preview of the spotlight caches are not what they’re doing week 1? similar to the preview of the conquest shop with the green goblin variant, i believe week 1 of spotlight caches will be knull the living tribunal and thanos
You can save the collector caches you have now up until the update and they will automatically convert to the new system. You can still upgrade your cards and variants in the meantime
Hello! When you guys were discussing saving caches for when the spotlight cache goes live, did you man the season pass caches too? Don't they disappear when the season ends?
The weekend missions are trying to get people to buy newer cards as well. If you don't buy the season pass or have enough tokens to get 2 brand new cards, you can't complete these weekend missions. That's my major beef with those cards as a free to play player who has nearly his entire collection unlocked. I'm only missing 13 cards, but the weekend missions revolve around specifically ones I haven't had a good chance to earn yet.
Also, to the team at Second Dinner who is DEFINITELY reading this comment, PLEASE put Iron Lad and Howard in the same Spitlight Cashe. That would be GOATED.
So, here's the thing about the good/bad cards mix in the caches. They only have two spots to play around with One spot is the random card, so that never changes. 1 spot is the newwst card. I guess that one they can wait until a new crap card and pair that with Snowgard when it's time for either Jeff or High Evo, but mostly it's going to be good or, at least, exciting cards So it's going to be REALLY hard to have a truly bad cache mix
Regarding the changes coming with the spotlight caches: When it comes to getting new cards, while the massive reduction in token acquisition will be offset by the increased acquisition of cards, I think the thing that is going to really feel WAY out of whack is going to be ultimate variants. 5,000 tokens is going to be an *entire year's* worth of tokens under the new system.
Currently by end of this season there will be 24 S4/5 cards. Each week of spotlight will feature 1 new card and 2 S4/5 roster cards. If S4 and S5 are featured 1:1 every week (which I doubt) that will still take 3 months to fully rotate the roster. If S4 : S5 featured ratio to be 2:1, it will take 9 weeks to cycle S4 roster, 4.5 months to cycle S5 roster.
I really love spider pig, but I feel like I would still use it if was a 2-2 or 2-3. I think being a 1 cost makes the card more frustrating to play against.
While I think the new system will be better long-term, I think it remains to be seen how tumultuous the upcoming transition period is. Two economies that players have relied on appear to be ending soon: tokens for cards, and gold for variants. I could be wrong, but it seems like it's better to gain/spend both currencies until the spotlight caches begin appearing. I feel like if you really want 2099 for instance, it's better to spend tokens on it now rather than risk waiting for the new spotlight caches, when it's possible it doesn't appear until like the beginning of August.
Just to clarify something that was said: when talking about jeff, do you mean it’s worth it to spend those 6k tokens now before the cache system changes (let’s say the person wants Jeff and only has 9k), or just that when he comes up in the new cache system he’s a definite scoop and don’t wait. Great show as always fellas, and it’s a fantastic time to be a Snap Chat listener😉👉
Unless you hoard caches or routinely play enough every week to unlock a spotlight cache, buy Jeff. You go from having a guaranteed way to get him to relying on a lotto.
I find the ideal power scaling of a card game not to be like the power scaling of a good video game, but the power scaling of a good anime. Your average video game is designed around a balanced difficulty curve, where the game gets harder as you get closer to the end and the player gets access to more powerful items/tools to compete. When you have a good anime, the power scaling often takes worldbuilding into consideration, where new characters introduced may or may not be more powerful than the ones we've seen so far. Characters generally get stronger through training and growth, rather than simply having a stronger power than we saw last week. It makes the overall power landscape feel more consistent, like we're still in the same world we were when we started and it hasn't abandoned the old for the shiny and new. Seeing modern decks using Medusas, Wolverines, and Nick Furys (and winning) carries the same feeling of the seeing characters from season 1 still having relevant fight scenes in season 6 and defeating powerful villains. Not just because they were buffed, but because they were buffed in such a way that had they been released in the buffed state from the beginning, they still would be about on-par with their contemporaries. What people often miss about power scaling is that the world itself has a power level, based on the strongest characters in it. Power creep occurs when the world gets stronger, as it means every card that exists already either has to get buffed or left behind (normally resulting in the world getting stronger again). It's what really impressed about the vanilla card baseline the game established (0/1, 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 4/6, 5/9, 6/12. Almost every seems about on-rate to that baseline, and almost everything that goes above it presents a notable risk that opens the door to counterplay. One of the best cases of game balancing I've seen in recent memory, and I hope it sets a precedent for other card game designers to follow.
I don’t think spiderhan should get nerfed especially since yandu shows you what he destroys. You would need to remove the visibility of card from all cards. Yondu can destroy and prompt a snap also.
Not in your hand. Not the psychological and strategical impact. You can play around the card you saw get destroyed. Yondu can also just thin a deck if it misses. There is no downside to ham, at all. (Clearly the infinaut Agatha meta post ham hasn’t happened, largely because those cards suck
@@JStack good point about deck thinning but you still can snap if yo y hit the right target and you know what it is. Not knowing the target ever would not prompt a snap so early imo.
So in this episode all onreveals besides 2 cards the spread to other lanes is suprise cards? I feel like a suprise card isnt just power or move aka control but its the opposite its the ur having a good game and somehow they make one point win the match and predictable moves is why most suprises is needed
I'm calling it - week one will be Thanos, Darkhawk and Zabu (unless week 1 aligns with the start of a season or it's shark week). Btw, if Second Dinner releases in advance info on the spotlight cards for each week of a season then you guys gotta do a video about which week is best to go 4 deep on because presumably f2p players will only be able to do one week a season.
Killmonger also has a huge impact on any potential 1-drops people may run for tempo, it's such an overly efficient tech effect I'm absolutely not a fan. It's also the game's biggest flavor fail because if anything Killmonger, the usurper king, should be killing a big minion not a bunch of small ones. I think Killmonger is largely responsible for keeping off-meta decks from working. Also Spider-Ham should either be more expensive or hit a random card instead of targeting their best card. It would even be a buff for bounce-type lists, which I hate, but it would be worth it to prevent the non-games Ham creates.
Kilmonger isn’t a flavor fail. He directly counters Kazar the card that buffs one cost. Kazar is based on Tarzan who has roots in colonization. This is even a topic brought up in Kazar’s book with the impact of Africa’s colonization. Kilmonger is the anti colonization and radical in his movement. Contrasts Kazar alot
love the content, do you know if in Conquest the medals and tickets will flow over to the next season of conquest? or do we need to exhaust our resources? I already completed the infinite climb and bought all the item shop items I want. So I am wondering if I should save my resources. Cheers man.
I feel an "Anti-Sera" could be interesting: a 5 cost card that raises the cost of all the opponent cards (like a Leach alternative). It could have a low power for balance. A more powerful Iceman, wondering which character would fit the card.
I often end up cutting Knull for Arnim Zola/Death/She-Hulk, yes it is fun to get Knull up to a huge number but for the same cost you can spread your power into more lanes. DarkHawk feels like a 6 cost big bad, such a great card
We need a filter for artists for deck making. Not much more satisfying than just playing the game with a near full collection of one artist in a deck. Not many have enough like Hipp but still.
I guess I’m in the 1% on liking the pixel variants. I have multiple variants of a card but I always lean on the pixels just cause it’s fun and love beating people with a pixel deck lol
Electra is a tech card. Look at Shang-chi. It looks terrible on paper compared to other 4 costs. Everyone loves it. If Nebula and Kitty and Sunspot etc are in so many games, why not Electra? If I kill your sunspot with Electra, that make her a 1/whatever the Sunspot was at. And I don't have to run Killmonger and can confidently low cost zoo. I don't know what's so hard to figure out. She shouldn't change.
I honestly can't believe Kitty hasn't been nerfed yet. +2 each turn is absolutely ridiculous, dropping it to +1 per turn still gives you a consistent 1/4 or 1/5 that procs both Angela and bishop. Card is absolutely busted rn
Darn, spider ham hit’s headphones now?! I know holding them is better… but I can’t lol. I held them for 24 hours and there was that number (3) every time I loaded the game and main screen…. My little voice in my head was like….” It could be anything, even a boat”! It helps that I am collection complete though so it is not a full feel bad.
uatu could be viable if the effect procced at the start of the game by virtue of having him in the deck, that could be interesting, maybe too much info though?
For someone who is series 3 complete - and almost 4/5 complete. What are you and Cozy advising people like me to do with my tokens? I've got a bit over 10K tokens and not sure if its worth using now or continuing hoarding
I don't think they can every please everyone with card acquisition. However, if you play enough of the game and win enough you will get lots of cards and learn how to play an amazing game
They should give Spider Ham's intel to Baron Mordo. The ability itself is fine (Though maybe better for a 2 cost?), but the intel is too much. It would be more fair for Baron to see what he hit than Ham at 1 cost.
By the way, power creep is generally used for cards that do the same thing but are better and have better power. You're comparing Nebula to the thing designed to take out Nebula. That's not..... You can say one cost cards are starting to look more interesting but I think power creep is just wrong. I think these cards might see more wide usage but we need the agent 13 and the Hawkeye and the Electra. They are fine as is.
I think the weekend missions is great, but I feel its not a great idea to have the gold mission needing to have a season pass card Ghost Spider (in this case) where free to play players have 0 chance to get the gold. It could instead be a series 4 or 5 card (new or okd) that could at least be pulled from a cache or with tokens to give them a chance to get the gold.
I think free to play players might be able to unlock the season pass card in the new caches during that first week of the season. Not this upcoming season because the patch won't be out on the first week, but going forward...
I feel like people playing other ccg's saying they went back because of not unlocking enough card in snap is kinda bad faith. Apart from Runeterra, no other cards games give you ressources/cards like snap, for free. Mtg arena you gotta $ Hearthstone you gotta $ Master duel is front loaded but after you gotta $ Snap is somewhere in the middle for me.
Play Hawkeye in Bounce. I say this every week. I can send plenty of footage of him being 1/5 and higher. And before you say anything, you'd never play Deadpool outside of destroy or Human Torch outside of move and Agent 13 outside of Collector or Devil Dino. Why can't Hawkeye just be a bounce card? Would I love to see a one point increase to bring it in line with Antman? Absolutely. But the card is far from broken or hard to use.
@@paulakroy2635 @kumanight top level? Anyone at infinite is top level so I'm gonna glide right past that. Uhm what you say is true. He's over looked and not played. Ham is a 1 cost that could hit anything and you can't control him hitting a Medusa vs a She-Hulk. Iceman just.... I don't play him in my bounce. Hood just got nerfed so, idk it's very tricky if you can't Bast or bounce him right. I actually do play Hawkeye over Hood because even at their worst in looking at a 4 power difference with no negatives. I would never play a bounce without Kitty anymore though. She's like... The deck. I can send the untapped stats on my deck but I only just started playing with that app on a few weeks ago. My list is solid with over a 60‰ win rate and I'm just feeling like you get a lot of value out of Hawkeye in a bounce deck. Outside of that, literally play any other one cost. Anything. But he's a bounce card just as Deadpool is a Destroy card.
Just looked at my deck list again. I remember why I don't run hood. Bast. I want to always be able to play Bast if I need to and sometimes I can't or don't want to play the Demon at that time. I also don't need my hand clogged or the board for that matter. I zoo enough that I need to be able to have space for Hit Monkey and possibly Mysterio. I don't play Collector either cause he's awful to get turn 6 unlike someone like Bishop.

they did talk about something like that in a previous Snapchat episode. just cant remember which one it is. 🤥

The thing that concerns me about the spotlight caches is that it might create a repetitive meta each time a really good card is featured.

I got 2 pixels from the pass! I did get the MODOK pixel which was pleasant and the Hobgoblin
Btw, if Second Dinner releases in advance info on the spotlight cards for each week of a season then you guys gotta do a video about which week is best to go 4 deep on because presumably f2p players will only be able to do one week a season.
how about if you kill spider ham your card turns back to normal just a random thought i had!?
This is my most favorite episode of the Snapchat ever!
Alex+Cozy video idea. Every time you snap, you take a shot.
Should I get Spiderham now or wait for spotlight caches to arrive?
We need that rage clip cozy 😂
the end of an EAR rather than era. nuff said
And on a different note...i feel a nebula nerf to 1/0 is coming soon...😮
I have Knull pinned... But man I think I gotta just hold off until the new cache system and hope for the best there!?
Same with me but Darkhawk
@@DietersYTI got Hawk for 3k, he's really good
I often end up cutting Knull for Arnim Zola/Death/She-Hulk, yes it is fun to get Knull up to a huge number but for the same cost you can spread your power into more lanes. DarkHawk feels like a 6 cost big bad, such a great card
We need a filter for artists for deck making. Not much more satisfying than just playing the game with a near full collection of one artist in a deck. Not many have enough like Hipp but still.
This is why they need a proper shop, so we can get all the variants to build a deck. This rotation business really isn't it.
@@nickmajora I bet it's being addressed. They have too many variants not to. It should at least cycle through 2wice a day
If I ever ran into these guys I’d buy them a Grape Juice.
Do we know when the spotlight caches are getting put into the game?
Will this launch next week w the new season?
All i want is pixels. Where is my mr negative pixel variant??
those caches will have the same cards for everyone ?
Yes (3/4 at least, since the 4th one is a random S4/5)
I guess I’m in the 1% on liking the pixel variants. I have multiple variants of a card but I always lean on the pixels just cause it’s fun and love beating people with a pixel deck lol
I feel the same about Dan Hipp variants. They usually suck.
Why the hate for Omega Red? Yes, he's dependant ok being activated, but if he is, after the last patch, he's literally a 4-cost Doctor Doom
SKULL CANDY and BEATS headphones tells a lot about a person.... same reason he has so many VARIANTS...STYLE over SUBSTANCE
he loves to show off XD
I got to level 60 for the first time this season and I got a shitty pixel variant. Was such a let down. 😞
F
I honestly can't believe Kitty hasn't been nerfed yet. +2 each turn is absolutely ridiculous, dropping it to +1 per turn still gives you a consistent 1/4 or 1/5 that procs both Angela and bishop. Card is absolutely busted rn
Kitty isn't really a 1 cost card if you spend energy on her each turn. She's more like a 4/8 or 5/10 in terms of value.
SNAP CHAT DRINKING GAME LETSGO. Love u Alex
Fun episode boys
I just got infinity with Orka, very good surprising card in ranked since the buff 🎉
Best episode so far!!!
Just another amazing video as always, and how thick is cozies hair? Dam😂
omega red is the new dr.doom. :P
They should give Spider Ham's intel to Baron Mordo. The ability itself is fine (Though maybe better for a 2 cost?), but the intel is too much. It would be more fair for Baron to see what he hit than Ham at 1 cost.
inebriated Alex episode. You should do two a year, it was fun.
The power creep is in 4 costs more than anything.
Cozy needs to watch I Think You Should Leave and learn what Dan Flash's is.
I really want Jeff! Not sure whether to spend the cache or the tokens but the fact that he isn’t played as much…
Isn't Loki gonna be a 0 cost?
The problem with weekend missions is that you only get gold if you have the season pass. So that is a bummer for the free to play players.
Would rather get pixels than baby variants 1000x
I already pulled Snowguard and Kang with my luck. It's only up from here. I'm going 4 deep every week
Pixel Carnage is great
IMO: Neb should be a 2/1 with the same affect.
I love the win with x character. I want crazier achievements like, win a location with a negative score or something crazy like that
Really hoping nebula is in the first few two weeks
I feel like people playing other ccg's saying they went back because of not unlocking enough card in snap is kinda bad faith.
Apart from Runeterra, no other cards games give you ressources/cards like snap, for free.
Mtg arena you gotta $
Hearthstone you gotta $
Master duel is front loaded but after you gotta $
Snap is somewhere in the middle for me.
I’ve stolen a lot of cubes by dropping Captain Marvel to beat out an opposing Doombot.
Sad day Cozy. Bye bye beats. I like the blue ones, change is nice.
Hawkeye isn’t played in top level bounce. Kitty pride, the hood just do his job better. The only list he sees play is some verisons of c-3
Tbh I don't see a reason to run him over Kitty, Ham & Hood. I could see swapping him for Iceman (if you don't have Ham)
@@Ryuuk00 no top level is tournament play
Just looked at my deck list again. I remember why I don't run hood. Bast. I want to always be able to play Bast if I need to and sometimes I can't or don't want to play the Demon at that time. I also don't need my hand clogged or the board for that matter. I zoo enough that I need to be able to have space for Hit Monkey and possibly Mysterio. I don't play Collector either cause he's awful to get turn 6 unlike someone like Bishop.
Elektra is in all of my decks my fav card
Lol I thought pixel Sentry was neat
