The voice acting in these games is some really, really phenomenal stuff. Like, it's a small thing, but for example the broadcast where one of the soldiers requests backup and is asked what his current position is, and you hear him hesitate for a second before responding, it's a really nice, organic-feeling detail.

It kinds of reminds me of that one mission in og cod mw2 where you're defending an extraction point in ww2 memorial and then you can hear all the people in the extraction point starts to panic if you failed to defend them
Something that I like about this game is the fact that the military commanders are extremely arrogant and don't consider zombies as dangerous threat. You can see at 5:02 and 6:40 that the commanders don't care about the soldiers and refuse to get them out when they are surrounded. Not to mention the fact that sometimes the soldiers don't listen to their commander, like when general sherman ordered his men to stand down and let creasemen come to the Iachi river, they never listened to him and tried to stop him causing zombies to pour in through the broke gate which caused massive military casuality. RIP flash.
Not only that, on 0:48 one of soldiers literally asked their commander for permission to help civies and got denied immediately. These people are cold and the foot soldiers are paying for it

This was retconned later as him only being able to listen in because the military's secure equipment got stolen, and they had to switch to a different frequency. I've never been fond of that explanation though, to be honest. @@sunshineskystar
I like the ambiguity in the first game about whether or not they were screwed from the start or if Creaseman's escape and running over all their barricades made things worse.
@@necrosteel5013 If I'm correct, all of this happened in the span of a week, and it's most likely that heavy artillery vehicles like tanks were taken out from mutants because of how slow they are to move out. (What's worse is that they would be ineffective, since artillery bombing was confirmed to not work in one of the radio broadcasts.) Aside from that, John's car was the main factor that caused the city to fall since barriers were able to hold against most of the weak infected types.
