She was my teacher at first year in Florence academy of arts in sweden (before she went to US) and let me tell you she is an amazing teacher and probably the classiest person alive.
I really like how she's breaking down and describing her approach in this very analytical way. It reminds me of my old art teacher, very easy to follow~ (Also the amount of people that dont understand that its a study in preparation for the actual painting smh)
This is the best kind of unintentional ASMR that exists for me. I also love the way I can see a master show me how he does the thing they are the best at.
I think her color is properly, standard, great! It'a nice class for beginner. If anyone who want to improve the skill on art field, it should be take class as basic lesson. I estimate high level lesson is coming soon.
I'm just binging your podcast with Marshall right now on spotify. The amount of awkward moments is probably second only to The office.XD..Great stuff though. Currently on the fundamentals of drawing.
Frik lips are very high chroma and vastly different from the other colors in the study. I assume she was saving that color for last and focusing on the harmony of the other colors. But who knows. Everyone has their own process. :)
The model was in the room and Cornelia painted from the model. We just couldn't have a camera recording the model from Cornelias point of view because... Cornelia was standing there. So we took a picture for the video.
@@ProkoTV Oh interesting, thanks for the insight. It doesn't exonerate me though from thinking that it was a video o the model instead of realizing it was a photo haha
When you place so much paint out for mixing the various shades there appears to be an awful lot. Will this be used on other paintings and if saving your oil tints what do you do to extend its life period. If some have been mixed with walnut alkyd then it has a restricted.llife. I'm in a different league you can paint with confidence and achieve excellence, the waste thereafter is insignificant.
“This is beautiful” “I’m falling in love with this painting” I really want to think that she’s just slyly flirting with the model (did you see her smile? Aah cute)
I say the same things when I'm making an artwork and it's showing promise, even if it's a still life. There's just this wonderful feeling of, 'yes, this is going to be great!" when you see it coming together and it's hard not to say it, even if no one's around.
Gallery Bry I feel like this is the natural progression with many traditional artists. Watercolor, acrylics, oils. All very different, yet they still help prepare you for the next
Gallery Bry Case in point I went from watercolor to acrylic. Never quite made it to oil though, acrylic and gauche seem to be best for me. Although if it’s *that* fun I may have to try it out
Leila Jones many people report they like the buttery tactile feedback they get while painting. And if you paint solvent free, the smell of the oils is wonderful. Very different from the chemical smell of acrylics. It’s really a matter of preference, but there are many enjoyable aspects that only oils can provide. :) Cheers.

Does she paint a little sketch every time before a real painting or is it only an explanation tool for this course?

How lucky you were.
This is A+ content. Thank you for bringing educational videos like this! Especially for an old guy restarting a career!
Damn, proko is going crazy near end of the year 👌👌 Nice
At first I thought the section on the left was a video and not a still. I was like damn this model is amazing at staying still and not blinking.
Holy crap thank you, I'm not alone!
She blinks at 7:45 !
How does the model look like an oil painting in real life?
I was confused at first, i thought they were showing the finished painting alongside the color study.
find a girlfriend
Practice (maybe.... who knows)
It's a mixture of the angle and quality of the light, the pose and costume of the model, and the fact that the background has a streaky, painted look.
Right, must be the lighting or camera

15:14 HER SMILE WAS SOOO CUTE WHEN THE PAINTER SAID SHE WAS CUTE
Very beautiful technique
These demos really help! Please do this again next year!!
Well done, Cornelia! Brava!!!!
I really appreciate this kind of video , very instructive with a confirmed artist ; nice , thanks

Beautiful art
Thanks for this instructive session, it's a really nice color study

This was a really good! Wish it had the english words to read along. I'm not good in spoken english. Love the videos in these channel.
she id really good at her stuff
Beautifuuul
is this color study a kind of planning for the big piece in this case?
Yes, thats usually the point of it~
Aren't the lips an important color to consider in the painting?
Lips are small forms compare to head that's why she didn't paint it in the color study.
Frik lips are very high chroma and vastly different from the other colors in the study. I assume she was saving that color for last and focusing on the harmony of the other colors. But who knows. Everyone has their own process. :)
For half of the video I thought that the model was actually in the room and that she was very good at standing still

15:19 The moment when the artist captivate the subject.
Does the demo have english subtitles?
I almost missed this video for a Ted channel's post notification
Did she had the same teacher as Aaron Westerberg? Just wondering since he has a very similiar approach
No, he says she studied at Angel Academy in Florence. Westerberg studied at Watts
Anyone else being so distracted by the woman who is posing in the background to notice a proof she’s alive.
Incredible

WOW
That model doesn't even flinch
she is working from the finished painting. At times they would at clips of the live model

It's a photo during the process, or am i wrong?
