I´m a severely depressed and lonely 55 year old guy, but this rapping Ren makes me grin and DANCE ! The beat, the flow, the composition, perfect ! This guy is sooo good. I have yet to find a single track from him or The Big Push i don´t like. Hasn´t happened yet.
One of the things I love most about Ren is how he isnt blowing fortunes making music videos but the videos he makes are quality - he makes amazing videos that would normally seem quite normal but the cinematography and Ren's own touch and character is what creates that Ren music. Jenny's Tale was Ren, in an alleyway in Brighton, with a guitar beginning the circle that is the Tales. It has over 6.6m views for just that part of the Tale. I know he was supposed to sign with Sony before he got sick - then lost so much of his life to this fucked up situation - but Sony would have destroyed everything creative about him. Being an independent artist is not easy - but Ren has made it work in a way that a lot of other artist never would have been able to. He owns his music, he has a say in how it is used, he is the one that gets the cheque, not the label. I can't wait to see what he's got planned for the future.

Admittedly, but I digress. Big Push is a force of nature, Ren is lightning. Twenty years from now you’ll be passing kids on the street wearing their merch wishing they were here with us now. These artists are that. I remember Nirvana and Green Day, Sublime all playing locally then breaking massive. It’s happening again. You’re helping that happen.
I’m old, but damn if I don’t appreciate what I’m seeing and almost hearing more than I did when I should have been paying more attention. I do now, this is exactly that.

I have to disagree on the Ren:Bittersweet Symphony (Verve Retake) which btw did you see he didn’t monetize either of these two tracks. They’re purely homages to some of his favourite artists. That’s insanely humble. Who makes this kind of Art these days and doesn’t monetize the shite out of it?!?! Ren apparently. I’m an ex pat lower class Brit who’s been living downunder since I was 9. Urban Hymns and Richard Ashcroft are still my go to’s when I rarely listen to music these days. I listened to REN’s Bittersweet Symphony yesterday ( I only discovered Ren 4- days ago and I’m fully in) and effin hell, mate! The nostalgia was so strong and I grinned and swayed to that Ren trip down memory lane musically and relatability wise as a British kid living in a council estate (naval brat too) for the first chapter of my life. My nan lived in council housing her whole life in Yorkshire in a rough neighborhood. I went back to visit with my kids in the late 90s and it was really tough seeing how it had deteriorated even more. I still remember my granddad’s handkerchief knotted at the corners on his head and him on a banana lounge in the pokey backyard during the British ‘summer’. Visits to Brighton Beach as a kid (if memory serves there’s no sand just big ass pebbles.) And everyone lined up with their deck chairs and knotted kerchiefs. Lol. Both songs stand alone and just hit differently for me. Keep reacting to Ren for goodness sake, please! I checked out of music over a decade ago because it was just mushy trite sexualized shite. I put off clicking on the Hi Ren video because I thought it was clickbait. Boy am I kicking myself now. I trained vocally for years, played the flute to being offered an audition with the Tasmanian youth Symphony orchestra (which I chickened out of because I didn’t feel I was good enough). Suffered severe stage fright so never got the guts to put my pretty great vocal talents out there. Plus my brother was a professional opera singer in Sydney and Melbourne so I said eff it I’m not going to put myself in a position to get compared. I was a total coward. I can’t put him into a specific style of music, he’s quite different with everything he does, an all rounder if you will. Ten has fun with his music and that’s what it’s all about at the end of the day 👌🏻
