Erwin - my story with SMA

Erwin is 30 years old and enjoys listening to music and travelling around Poland, although he can only do this when lying down. When he was 7 months old, he was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy. At that time, the doctors could only offer him rehabilitation and emotional support. The disease has made irreversible changes to his body. Erwin has recently been taking medication for SMA and says that he sees a marked improvement - he can speak more clearly and louder and he can breathe more fully.
