Rockstar logic: Stock Kuruma's spoiler doesn't add traction, it does if you paint it however. You know what does give traction though, a spare tire, rear louvres, a roof rack and a different motorbike saddle.
Thanks Broughy! As a former automotive painter I can confirm painting a spoiler will make a vehicle go faster. Especially orange and blue; the fastest colours there are.
Everyone knows that liveries make a car go fast, why do you think the Gulf livery - which also orange & blue. coincidence? I think NOT - and the Martini livery are so famous?
You are a must watch for people who enjoy the races. Every one else starts and stops with top speed. These give me what I really need information on handling.
Thank you Broughy. I wish Rockstars add some new sport classics, I love vintage cars. Here some ideas: 1960 FIAT 500 (Classic version of the Brioso R/A) 1935 Auburn Speedster 1949 Mercury (the Hermes from Vice City and San Andreas) 1956 Porsche 356 Speedster 1958 Lancia Flaminia Sport
I just found that channel yesterday night. I watched like 15+ videos in that playlist since then... Thank you so much for this! Very, very informative and interesting videos I love it! It's been really a great help in finding out what I should buy for street racing/boats/planes/etc and how every car works in the game. Thanks again, great channel!
Another great video! Keep it up!!! Thank you for being one of the few good GTA youtubers. It's a shame that you don't have as many subs as the shameless clickbaiters like mrboss and others.
SaLAD it has so much damn wheelspin , when I first drove it I was like " why isn't it moving " and my controller was vibrating and than I moved camera and noticed it was all the wheelspin .
Mamba is one of the few vehicles that is almost undrivable without controlling the throttle at standstill. You need to feather the throttle until it gets almost to 2nd gear then floor it and you'll be much smoother.
Op_Pls _Nerf If you're on a bike you can "fly" it by pulling back on the stick and doing a mid-air wheelie or going upside down, but this more often than not can just make you fly way off course if you're not careful; if done properly you can get a speed boost before landing back on the track. If you're in a car no such physics exist, so just try to straighten out and land smoothly.
I'm not an expert, but in my experience back-flips increase the distance you can travel, but I don't know if that's due to the movement increasing your ground speed or reducing drag. Front-flips also do this but to a lesser extent. Barrel rolls and flat-spins don't appear to do anything (apart from make it more difficult to land). Something I haven't been able to replicate is the rumour that angling the vehicle nose down at 45-degrees improves jump distances by increasing ground speed. Maybe true, but I don't know. I don't generally have a protractor to hand in mid air! Obviously you can glide forever with bicycles and motorcycles, but not in other vehicles. Landing is important of course. If you hit the ground with all wheels at once, you should be okay (unless you glitch into the terrain / props). Nose and tail landings are doable but if you notice visual or audio damage to your vehicle, you are probably losing speed and should try to reduce the angle of impact next time. Again, landing sideways is risky as with barrel rolls as you're more likely to spin out - but better that than landing in a manner that'll make you explode.
From what i've learned it usually better to land mid-engined cars slightly on the back tires. Front engined slightly on the front tires. i.e. if you land the schafter v12 back end first it usually bounces like hell
Well we've already done a sports classics showdown with Stirling GT not allowed the spare tyre. A slow sports classics would have to be the really slow ones
sadly the turbo upgrade ruins the beautiful engine sounds of the sports classics with its pfff sound, none of my sports classics has a turbo 'cause of that
Jacob Hansen don't care :D i rather listen to the engine of my Stirling (which even doesn't have the spare wheel attached) than winning a race with a ruined sound
Hey Broughy! Thank you so much for all of your hard work and dedication to the GTA racing community- it is certainly very much appreciated. Question: Do you have an up-to-date lap-time spreadsheet? I've been having difficulties finding one that's current and/or has all of the lap times by class. Thanks again for your time~
You da besssssst~ edit: not sure if this is an error with my browser, but, for whatever reason the lap times for motorcycles, supers, and sports are the only ones listed in the spreadsheet.
Matthew Gorres - I just listed them down, me and my friends just come here to check and sometimes we need to pick fast so I wrote the list. But I understand your point and agree with it,. Still don't understand why you wrote that here.
@jabriel ames, a list is still good though, let's say I've already watched the video once but then I want to go back later and just check quickly what place the Monroe was in, it's way easier and faster to just read a list than to skim through a video.
Fairly certain that the Stirling GT is enabled for sport car races largely for the rally races. Kuruma, Tropos and Omnis are all cars common in this style of race and the Stirling just adds another car to this sub-class.
the problem with this is that the Stirling is NOT on the pace of these cars due to its offroad traction loss multiplier of 1. Also it's not inherently a rally car like the other 3. You can easily mod it up to be a classic cruiser
Benefactor is a really strong manufacturer . Feltzer, Stirling GT, Schafter V12, Schafter V12 Armoured, and I'm hoping for decent results in the compacts with the panto (even though the brioso will likely dominate) and in the the SUVs with the XLS (the contender will likely dominate) .
Of all the cars that need a Benny's custom version, the Coquette Classic is definitely up there. If you look up some of the builds people have done on Corvette Stingrays, you'll see some truly badass autocross machines.
wolf ht no you're not i love almost every vehicle from this class! i would never give my mariachi tornado away it took me so long to get it(: but i don't really race them alot because to me they are classics that shouldn't be raced (too often)... maybe i'm taking it too serious haha (;
South4153 agreed. i have a 20 car garage full of classics. I have others that I consider classics to like the youga classic, Surfer, Comet retro and others
Best_bud1 Productions the youga classic is so nice! i also have the regular youga. i think most of the people don't even know how you can change the normal youga in los santos customs(: the surfer is also great i have two of them^^
not sure if this is possible. can you do a video for the best car to use in free roam? i think the majority of players spend most time in free roam lobbies instead of races. Maybe do a top 10 cars for free roam and take the following into consideration: 1- bullet proof in case other players shoots at you 2- explosion proof in case a tank or hydra follows you or getting shot by rockets 3- straight line speed in case you are chased on a highway 4- cornering/handling in case you are followed by a hydra and need to do quick turns in the city 5- Maybe vehicles with weapons get higher scores because they can fight back. Kuruma get lower score because you cannot use sticky bombs. I guess you can combined all of the classes and make a generalized list? For #1 all the bullet proof cars and armored kuruma would get higher scores For #2 tanks and insurgent would get higher scores For #3 supercars and bikes? For #4 bikes? For #5 Tank, Hydra, Buzzard, Ruiner 2000? Add up all the scores and recommend a top 10? Maybe someone who is good at driving can dodge a hydra in a bike and someone not as good in an insurgent? I know this maybe difficult, but if you try I think even the non racing crowd would watch the video.
ZombieX069 ZombieX069 his is not this kind of guy, and what the point of a racing guy makes a non racing video or something his is not familiar. Even the non racing crowd would watch, yes but also those people only see that particular video not he's other videos.
It really is too bad that the Stirling is so OP, because it's a really nice car to drive, it's smooth and I really like the look of it. I do wish they'd add some classic racing liverys for that class.
It's not that the Stirling doesn't need a spoiler, but rather that all the others do. One of my favorite cars in the game - the Monroe - just sits in my garage looking pretty. I'd love to race it but, as you say, it simply can't compete against the Stirling. The Casco is another car who's looks I like, but which isn't competitive. Really, many of my favorite cars, in terms of style, are in the Sports Classics.
No. It's in the sports classics class. It can just be used in sports races too. The same as the BF400 being in the motorcycles class but also being usable in off-road races. It isn't in the off-roads class in the same way that the Stirling GT isn't in the sports class.
Broughy1322 well same difference really if it can be used in that class, that's what I was trying to ask. I think I sold mine cause I saw it in the sports race so thought it wasn't in sports classic any more 😢
Did R* changed the engine sound of the Coquette Classic recently or has it aways been like this since the release of 'next gen' GTA V? It has the engine sound of the Casco & Stirling GT on previous gen but haven't heard it on current gen until now.
It may be one of few, if not the only one I didn't notice of engine sound change. Anyways, besides the Z-Type, Sports Classics cars like the Mamba & Coquette Classic sound very dumb with the rough engine sound of a muscle car imo....
NatureXwars why? The Coquette Classic is based off a Corvette, which is a muscle car. The Mamba is based off a Shelby Cobra, which is a tiny British sports cars with an American V8 in it.
I hope they make the classic Cheetah a sports classic and they make it so that we have more competitive cars in the sports classics. Like adding 2-3 1 min 6 seconds cars in the class.
I feel disappointment in this video, it bugs me as well because IMO its the best looking class in the game and now there is no fun in racing them. Pity Nice video tho, always a pleasure
The spare tire adds more weight. More weight means the tires are pressed up to the ground more which means more grip. Honestly though an actual spoiler would be so much better because who wants a spare tire smacked on the back of their car
CriminalCuteness that would only apply for launching off the line. For going around corners the extra weight on the rear would be a disadvantage. The fact of the matter is, the game considers the spare tyre of the Stirling as a spoiler
Always pissed me off they never put a spoiler adjustment on the Casco... it's should a good car to drive. Oh and the Furore GT... those two ... man they're good and would be so much better with a spoiler
Hey Broughy! Massive fan but I think you've forgotten some vehicles i.e Rhapsody, the interceptor and the ford escort (sorry, cant remember gta names) among others
Broughy1322 probably, Im not an expert ahah and haven't used them in while so probably have forgotten. Still, love the channel and the work mate! Keep it up!
One reason that the Pigalle can take corners so well might be the fact that it's front wheel drive. The power that is put to the wheels during cornering is used to help steer the car into the corner, rather than fishtailing aground The corner. Also, you forgot that the Manana and Peyote both have topless and hard top variants. Sorry, just had to point that out. =P
Front wheel drive doesn't produce oversteer correct, but it does give understeer as wheel grip is being asked to comer and accelerate together. It corners well due to its high traction stat and spoiler. If it was rwd it would be even better, but it would be much further down the order if other sports classics had spoilers too. I also didn't forget about the other cars. Open top cars aren't functionally different to normal variants like cabrios are, and can be switched in lsc. Therefore I don't consider them as separate cars.
while FWD doesn't produce on-power understeer it does produce oversteer problems because, unlike a RWD or AWD car, there's no heavy drivetrain components in the rear. This results in the car being front-heavy and prone to sliding under braking or when lifting off the throttle mid-corner. Surprisingly enough, this behaviour is shown in a few FWD cars in this game inlcuding the Pigalle and the Issi
Some very low cars can hit curbs and bumps, but some cars get's a little boost from compressed suspension. Also lowering the car puts it closer to the ground which slightly helps turning, but all of these are mostly placebo effect and only hot lappers needs this much fine tuning.
yes. a lot of modifications can slightly affect the driving style. many of the faster guys I know (on PS4 fyi) even suggest playing around with the bumpers. If you want to test suspension yourself, I recommend you find a city track around 1:30 to 2 minutes a lap, do 4-5 laps with one setup, and then change suspension and do another 4-5 laps.
I know both Casco and Mamba are nightmares to drive, but I'm actually seconds faster with Mamba... (pretty close to your laptime, while I barely can hit 1:15 with Casco, awful cornering and no brakes at all...)
Tornado Gasser Tornado Mudder Tornado Limo Tornado Monster Truck Tornado Donk Tornado Shorty Tornado Hot Rod Armoured Tornado Turreted Tornado Tornado Aqua Tornado Attack Heli Tugnado Tornado 900R, fastest supercar And then convertible variants of all the above
Rockstar logic: Stock Kuruma's spoiler doesn't add traction, it does if you paint it however. You know what does give traction though, a spare tire, rear louvres, a roof rack and a different motorbike saddle.
And a different cover over the engine or whatever it is for.
Don't forget the completely logical belt drive covers
Don't forget how removing the spoiler on the Tropos adds traction
And also don't forget the fact that painting the 811's spoiler gives it both better traction AND better top speed
Also, I believe that the Stirling GT is faster driving underwater in first person. Kappa!
Don't forget, blue+blue makes orange.

Thanks for posting this video. I'm more of a classic car guy, so I couldn't wait for this video to show up! Keep up the good work :)
Luv ya Brough. Always on time with the testing. good job
Great video Brough, keep up the good work. Hope you never quit what you are doing, all love to you
Another great video! Keep it up!!!
Thank you for being one of the few good GTA youtubers. It's a shame that you don't have as many subs as the shameless clickbaiters like mrboss and others.
keep up the good work broughy , thanks for the information , you are the best
Doing the import export stuff, I despise the mamba
it drives like shit until u get decent speed
Don't forget the Roosevelt Valor!
SaLAD I dread having to steel and sell that car. You can lose so much money
Not playing anymore but still giving you the views :D just waiting for special vehicle races.
Nice vid, and not to pat myself on the back or anything, but I guessed that Sports Classics would be this week's class 😝
5th Like 👍🏻 thanks always Broughy - been waiting for this one!!
hey broughy I had a question
what's the best thing to do while airborne? like should we touch anything ? backflip, frontflip ?
Op_Pls _Nerf what I do is just try to land because while flipping I lose control and end up on my roof so I don't do flips.
Op_Pls _Nerf If you're on a bike you can "fly" it by pulling back on the stick and doing a mid-air wheelie or going upside down, but this more often than not can just make you fly way off course if you're not careful; if done properly you can get a speed boost before landing back on the track. Pretty sure Infernus classic is now 1st and Turismo 2nd
@Mitch van Oosterhout No, the Infernus Classic is 3rd and the Turismo Classic is 1st, Broughy has a separate video for those two cars.
is it already christmas?! so many broughy videos in such quick succession?! :D
Fairly certain that the Stirling GT is enabled for sport car races largely for the rally races. Kuruma, Tropos and Omnis are all cars common in this style of race and the Stirling just adds another car to this sub-class.

i hope rockstar adds a new sports classic in their next dlc , just to compete with the stirling around a track at least....
anyone else agree?
brugesboy 1997 I am the only motherfucker in this game who likes to drive sport classic cars :(
wolf ht no you're not i love almost every vehicle from this class! i would never give my mariachi tornado away it took me so long to get it(:
but i don't really race them alot because to me they are classics that shouldn't be raced (too often)...
maybe i'm taking it too serious haha (;
South4153 agreed. i have a 20 car garage full of classics. I have others that I consider classics to like the youga classic, Surfer, Comet retro and others
wolf ht cheers! im the same way! supers get boring u know?
Best_bud1 Productions the youga classic is so nice! i also have the regular youga. i think most of the people don't even know how you can change the normal youga in los santos customs(:
the surfer is also great i have two of them^^
Great vid per usual!
well done once again!!
The stinger GT sounds so good and also the stirling GT
I feel like aesthetically the tornado rat rod should be a muscle, just like the hotknife is in muscle
So the Tornado is basically 1/4th of the Sports Classic class? LMAO
the slowest quarter.
Saur -ssb this is how tornado destroys things.
Haha that's hilarious
I love the Mamba soooo much. . .I'm not a very good driver, but absolutely
in one of your next streams can you use the penatrator?i love watching the highlight stream videos. anyway love the vids!
Yeah! Stirling GT baby! That's my daily driver. Great exhaust sound as well.
I don't know if it's been said, but I wonder if the new classic/retro/whatever supercar versions (infernus and turismo?) will be sports classics.
Stinger GT was always one of my favourites. I don't know why but it's beautiful, really fun to drive and might be my favourite car in the game.
Great video
not sure if this is possible. can you do a video for the best car to use in free roam? i think the majority of players spend most time in free roam lobbies instead of races. Maybe do a top 10 cars for free roam and take the following into consideration:
1- bullet proof in case other players shoots at you
2- explosion proof in case a tank or hydra follows you or getting shot by rockets
3- straight line speed in case you are chased on a highway
4- cornering/handling in case you are followed by a hydra and need to do quick turns in the city
5- Maybe vehicles with weapons get higher scores because they can fight back. Kuruma get lower score because you cannot use sticky bombs.
I guess you can combined all of the classes and make a generalized list?
For #1 all the bullet proof cars and armored kuruma would get higher scores
For #2 tanks and insurgent would get higher scores
For #3 supercars and bikes?
For #4 bikes?
For #5 Tank, Hydra, Buzzard, Ruiner 2000?
Add up all the scores and recommend a top 10? Maybe someone who is good at driving can dodge a hydra in a bike and someone not as good in an insurgent? I know this maybe difficult, but if you try I think even the non racing crowd would watch the video.
ZombieX069 Would love to see this video, glad somebody mentioned it!
ZombieX069 ZombieX069 his is not this kind of guy, and what the point of a racing guy makes a non racing video or something his is not familiar.
Even the non racing crowd would watch, yes but also those people only see that particular video not he's other videos.
This project is completely experimental. However, more views is a good thing.
Insurgent and schafter v12
Good video!
If some of these cars just had tiny spoilers you could add.. the class would be semi competitive
It really is too bad that the Stirling is so OP, because it's a really nice car to drive, it's smooth and I really like the look of it. I do wish they'd add some classic racing liverys for that class.
Do spoilers help acceleration traction or just cornering?
just cornering with the exception of the 811 where, in addition to making the car corner better, it gives it crazy top speed at 60fps (or more)
It's not that the Stirling doesn't need a spoiler, but rather that all the others do.
Nice vid m8, have you ever lap tested the Stirling GT without the spoiler to see how much advantage it gives?
Dan Watson he mentions that in his video
If you actually watched the video you would have known that it is balanced with the Z-Type.
SaLAD thanks m8 I missed the comment he made about what the lap time would be without.
Is MCEC coming back? If the stirling is in there maybe you could balance it by not allowing the spare tire
The point of MCEC is to not be balanced though...
Oh yeah, guess i wasn't thinking straight lol.
So the Stirling is in both sports n sport classic classes?
I think I sold mine cause I saw it in the sports race so thought it wasn't in sports classic any more 😢
hey Brough, with colour did you use for the Manana?
Any reason you use off road tires? Do they have an impact on lap time? Are they the best tires?
Is it bad that I own all of the Sports Classics class in one garage?
No it's not. It's actually really cool. :)
Did R* changed the engine sound of the Coquette Classic recently or has it aways been like this since the release of 'next gen' GTA V? It has the engine sound of the Casco & Stirling GT on previous gen but haven't heard it on current gen until now.
they changed up a bunch of car sounds in the re-releases
It may be one of few, if not the only one I didn't notice of engine sound change. Anyways, besides the Z-Type, Sports Classics cars like the Mamba & Coquette Classic sound very dumb with the rough engine sound of a muscle car imo....
NatureXwars why? The Coquette Classic is based off a Corvette, which is a muscle car. The Mamba is based off a Shelby Cobra, which is a tiny British sports cars with an American V8 in it.
Johnny362000 the vette is a super car but a lot of people say it isn't bc of the price
Johnny362000 at least the modern one
Am I the only one who hope's the 2 classic cars from liberty city gonna be sport classic's and can beat those Stirling user's?
is the Stirling gt still the best or are one on the newer sports classics better
The playlist shows update videos with the new sports classics.
Broughy1322 thanks for the reply I wasn't expecting such a quick response
did you test the bennys cars with or without the best hydraulics because the best hydraulics upgrade slows the car down?
Hydraulics upgrades have no effect on performance unless you actually activate them, in which case the car will be slower.
Broughy1322 ok, thanks, I didn't know that, great videos :)
Pity
Nice video tho, always a pleasure
Does the suspension make a difference?
what is the paint job on the stinger gt?
For new DLC Rockstar could add Bullit Classic and Dominator Classic(muscle)
Dear Broughy1322 what do you think of stroopwafels?
The casco doesn't show up on legendary for me , how do I get it ?
XderpyfishX 1 complete prison break heist
Broughy1322, Will you be doing a new top speed test on the sports classics soon?
He always does the top speed vid the day after the track vid
..... 9:09 did you watch the video?
fattymcgee123 just watched the times, but thanks !

The Rhapsody is in compacts, I don't know what you mean by "the Interceptor" and there's nothing resembling a Ford Escort in GTA V
I've not forgotten any vehicles in any class so far. It's either in a different class to what you assume or you've missed it in one of these videos.
Broughy1322 probably, Im not an expert ahah and haven't used them in while so probably have forgotten. Still, love the channel and the work mate! Keep it up!
Unsubbed you spelt Franken wrong. Not good enough. Just not good enough.
Kruqtion I hope you're joking
Kruqtion Damn, Broughy that's disgusting.
Kruqtion you too. It's called Fränken 😂
You spelt it wrong too as it is called Fränken... Tz, tz.
He pronounced it right.
And it's Fränken not Franken, as you wrote it.
The Peyote. Good memories.
We can all agree how sad it is that the Stirling is so much better than everything.
How do you choose the car for your thumbnail?
I just pick something that I have that looks nice
The 1 dislike is MRTWATFTW seeing he'll get copyright striked if he's blatantly uses Brough's footage
How do you get the Mamba to have no windshield?
It's one of the roof options. It adds a roll cage, removes the roof and replaces with the windscreen with a small, low plastic "visor" of sorts
Wouldn't it have been better to wait for the Turismo and Infernus Classic to be released?
Who said they're going to be in this class?
Broughy1322 , you never know lmao
It might indeed be a very good idea to wait with the vans class testing video, as those new cars will probably be put in that class ;)
Yeah! I think they might get put into the Sports class. I Would love to see a Bullet Classic (GT40) in the Sports Classics class.
Nice Z type... Takes a real man to drive a pink car :-)
damn, i just sold my Sterling GT to help buy a Nero, I wish I had saved it
What's that paint job on the Monroe :o
Is this circuit also available on Xbox One?
Yes bit.ly/BroughysTracks (Cutting Coroners GP)
Broughy1322 thank you :)
What's with the off-road wheels/tires?
th-cam.com/video/OBpGkY7jyL8/w-d-xo.html
just wondering, do off road tyres make a difference?
th-cam.com/video/OBpGkY7jyL8/w-d-xo.html
On curbs it makes the car pass easily over. But top speed acceleration etc remains the same
Broughy1322 thanks man
Forgot the n at the end of Franken 2:22 and the accent technically too.
Isn't the Pigalle a Front wheel drive car too?
Yes
Give it up for the cascooo!
No difference between Coquette Classic Hardtop and Topless?
none. They're not even separate vehicles
Broughy will you review new tracks R released? This cancer need examination.
Wulfgar he did that on his twitch stream yesterday. long story short, they suck
What class next week?
Does raising or lowering the suspension of a car in GTA actually affect anything?
Saif Azaz it does in some cars
+Jan Vehmanen i personally get faster and more consistent laptimes with stock suspension whenever i hotlap

Who else is excited for the Industrial class testing!!!!
The Pigalle is also great in the corners because its fwd
The Z-Type is my most disliked car in the game. I hate driving it so much.
Ohh no you didn't! *gloves come off. Catch me outside!
Seems like you haven't tried a lot of cars in this game.
Infernal969 That's racist
Fyn Kynd I hate driving it as well
Fyn Kynd i love it. that and the mamba are fun to drive just because they are difficult
Off-road tyres for all these vehicles broughy ?
if you don't want to put offroads on your cars, tuners and muscle tires are also a good option
Brb, just gonna buy a stirling gt!
Do a a garage tour i want to see what cars your have
Which class are you doing next week?
Jiros7 I think it'll be Sedans or coupes
Broughy, are you hyped for the upcoming classic supercars in the (presumably) next update??
Yes th-cam.com/video/2ev7AlNcmbU/w-d-xo.html
Man, this feels really outdated. I can't believe this is the 2017 testing. R* really added a lot of Sports Classics this year and it's only September.
2:26 She almost got Frankensteined.
i wish we had a vintage class
whats up with ALLWAYS using ofroad tires on timetrials??? makes no sence
th-cam.com/video/OBpGkY7jyL8/w-d-xo.html
after all this time, the suitcases that was sitting on top of my panto increased traction?
I know both Casco and Mamba are nightmares to drive, but I'm actually seconds faster with Mamba... (pretty close to your laptime, while I barely can hit 1:15 with Casco, awful cornering and no brakes at all...)
So, what about another Tornado in the next updates?
Tornado Gasser
Tornado Mudder
Tornado Limo
Tornado Monster Truck
Tornado Donk
Tornado Shorty
Tornado Hot Rod
Armoured Tornado
Turreted Tornado
Tornado Aqua
Tornado Attack Heli
Tugnado
Tornado 900R, fastest supercar
And then convertible variants of all the above
Plus a Rocket Tornado and a Tronado.
I want a Tornado Monster Truck...
Offroad tyres required mate?
On some cars offroad tyres give them an advantage as they can go over bumps more easily. Watch his spreadsheet to see what cars benefit from it
not necessarily. they do help over bumps and around the hills, but tuners/muscle tires also work well.
