Purdy's scrambling ability was put to the test, came through in the clutch.
RB Purdy is so clutch in the red zone. This is why the 49ers are so efficient in that area.
He rarely runs CMC is the reason we’re so efficient in the red zone. He will literally fight you for one yard plus he’s so athletic he can make anyone miss
We haven't seen Brock run like that in a while. He was doing it more when the Niners were dominating. I think he's going to need to make some of those runs if he wants to win the next game.
He doesn’t want to get hurt but with the game on the line he doesn’t care
Agreed! Now, is the time to break out all of the skills now matter what. There is nothing left to prove. Just lay it all out there and hope it is enough to outlast that clutch burst we all know Mahomes, Reid and Kelsey are going to try to force. I just want the 4ers to remain poised and patient and let the game come to them. Their opportunities will definitly be there for them. As I always say, no matter what happens, "Stay the course!"
@@blaakskyexactly! Play like there's no tomorrow. Cause there isn't. I hope we see it more too
@@laserhawk221More like Kyle and the team doesn't want him to get hurt. He ran for a few yards in Philly and tried to run block for Cmc vs Seattle. Both times, Cmc was like "hope he doesn't ever do that again"😂
I think that Kyle should call some qb draws for him but only in the playoffs
Purdy scored on every possession in the 2nd half. He's a baller without doubt.
"Yeah, there was that lucky moment with Aiyuk..." Again, DPI was called on that play. Had Aiyuk not caught that ball, the Niners would have gotten it on the 7 instead of the 2. The only reason the defender was in a position to intercept it is because he committed a foul for which a flag was thrown. I don't understand why people keep ignoring this and talking about Aiyuk's "lucky" catch.
I know! Its boggling
Just think... this is his '2nd' Championship... after being Mr. Irrelevant then finding his name was called in a Miami game... the rest is amazing football history. 🎉
I love it when the media types actually know what they’re seeing and call it like it is.
From Mr. Irrelevant to Mr. Superbowl has been an unfathomable journey. Good luck in Vegas.
He needs to win to be mr superbowl
We need a movie, not sure who plays Purdy but Ryan Gosselin will definitely play Jarod Goff.
Not even Mahomes did that
@@TuckerUpEric from Entourage
@@TuckerUpthat would be a dope movie and Sara Gilbert can be Mahomes (Darlene Conner from Rosanne)
Just think what people would be saying if Purdy hadn't got hurt last year.
Purdy's greatest strength is making everyone around him better which is the mark of a true leader and champion.
The offensive game plan for the 49ers should be to establish the run early on to open up the passing game and to keep on running the ball after that. Why not as the Niners have the best running back in the NFL in Christian McCaffrey? Considering Brock Purdy rushed for 48 yards against the Lions who have one of the best run defenses in the NFL adds another dimension to the Niners run game. And this is crucial as the teams that beat the Chiefs this season did so by running the ball, exposing the Chief's weak run defense.
First game of the season for Kansas City was against the Lions who rushed the ball 34 times including 21 carries by Montgomery, leading to a 21-20 upset of the Chiefs.
Midway through the season, the Chiefs faced the Broncos who rushed the ball a whopping 40 times for 153 yards, which isn't bad for a Broncos team without an elite RB, which led to a 24-9 upset blowout of KC.
A couple of games later, the Chiefs faced the Eagles who rushed the ball 27 times which led to 3 rushing TDs, enough to beat the Chiefs 21-17.
A couple of games after that, the Chiefs faced a Packer team that rushed the ball 25 times, which is a lot considering they are predominantly a passing team. The Packers upset the Chiefs 27-19.
The following week, the Chiefs played the Bills who rushed the ball 28 times despite Josh Allen having 42 passing attempts. The Bills defeated the Chiefs at KC, 20-17.
A couple of games after that, the Chiefs faced the Raiders who ran the ball 29 times for 157 yards. Not bad for a team without a good RB. The Raiders beat the Chiefs at KC, 20-14.
What cannot be overstated is the Chiefs up the ante and take it to another level during the postseason, yet the same rule still applies.
In the AFC Wild Card Round, the Chiefs faced the Dolphins who rushed the ball 18 times for 76 yards, with Pro Bowl starting RB Raheem Mosert only carrying the ball 8 times. As a result, the Dolphins suffered a blowout loss to KC by a score of 26-7.
In the AFC Divisional Round, the Chiefs faced the Bills who rushed the ball 39 times for 182 yards and nearly beat the Chiefs, losing 27-24 after a missed field goal late in the game.
In the AFC Championship, the Chiefs faced the Ravens who rushed the ball 16 times, of which RBs carried the ball just 6 times for a measly 23 yards. It's no surprise the Ravens were held scoreless from 5 minutes left in the 1st quarter to near the end of the 4th quarter.
After establishing the run, the 49ers offensive line needs to give Brock Purdy adequate protection on passing plays so he will have time to throw to his receiver targets Aiyuk, Deebo, Kittle and Jennings. Bang! Bang! Niner Gang! Niners!!!
Plus KC's D weakness is run-stop. They will put out stops at first, but then will tire and CMC will '''cook''.
Chris Long has said it best, "Brock Purdy is part of the reason the Niners are in the Superbowl".
Nick Bosa and Fred Warner said he's the main reason they're going to the Superbowl
Trent Williams also said he’s the reason
It’s nvr just one guy. You could say one guy elevates the team in a position to win but it is never one guy at the end of the day. Idk why everyone expects a last pick to do everything and trash him for not doing everything himself. 1st in QBR and still no credit, just a lucky guy apparently
I would say he WAS the reason they are going to the Superbowl. Purdy led the whole team by being the spark and momentum they needed to get back and take over that game. He did it with his arm, his legs and his high football IQ. It makes him a triple threat, especially now that everyone saw his scrambling ability. I would bet any kinda money he will be using his running more often in his game. Teams are gonna be putting a spy out there from now on to try to contain him but then he's just gonna throw the ball to the open receiver. Defenses can't cover everybody. Now that Purdy is a running threat, teams are going to have choose which weapon is more dangerous. There are too many to deal with now and the Superbowl is going to be fun to watch!
@@blaakskyAiyuk had a hand in it too.
Finally someone who said aiyuks catch was PI 🎉❤
from the Lions DB?
@@BrandonAiyukSZNof course. And BA you shouldn't have your name on a burner account
i rewatched it, yes it was PI Vildor stops at the 22 but the ball lands at the 10@@BazookaTooth707
People acting like that wasn't a PI. That dude literally held Ayiuk. I watched that play on all 22 and multiple replays on DVR. That was a PI and it seems it was picked up because Ayiuk made the catch. Had Ayiuk not caught it then the penalty may have stood
Rich, make sure that Amy Trask lets us know her thoughts about Brock's latest performance since she clearly uses "feelings" instead of metrics to assess quarterbacks. Curious to know if her worthless opinion has changed.
That play was not a bad pass by Purdy to Aiyuk! The defender bumped Aiyuk off his timing, which led to the near interception. A flag was thrown because of that! These guys all choose to ignore it because it's another way to say Purdy is not an elite passer! But if that were Mahomes and it got intercepted, everyone would be combing through to see the Defensive Pass Interference and talk about how it wasn't a bad pass from elite Mahomes! Stop! Acknowledge what happened on the field!
Not only that, it was Aiyuk, their best deep receiver, one-on-one with a defender. Ask any commentator, any OC, any QB, what they would do in that situation, and they'd say "chuck it up there and see what happens." It was a lucky play, but not a bad play.
Mahomes and Purdy dueling it out for the next decade sounds good to me.
Mahomes went to Texas Tech and Purdy went to Iowa State so the last 2 powerhouse QBs in the Super Bowl are Big 12 QBs! Way to represent!!!
Finally someone recognizing how good BP is
He has awesome talent around him AND he’s Purdy good himself. Both things can be true simultaneously idk why people act like it can’t
Long is awesome!
Appreciate the rest Chris! Thats the difference between analysts and former players. Players understand the game and how at times things dont go your way but that where talent meets opportunity! Analysts forget games are 4 quarters and its NFC Championship game so of course teams can have their way with you, they earned the right to be in the championship. Its how you repsond and finish the game that matters
40+ yard FGs aren’t gimmes. Just ask the Bills
Go Brock!
0:58 yup yuppers good call!!!!!!!
Love that he’s got KFP on the wall behind him. ❤
If I give you my heart than you can keep it
26-23 SF
People underestimate his quickness. His 10 yard split in the 40 was 1.55s at the combine. Lamar was 1.54s. He doesn't have the top end speed of Lamar or the other top running QBs but he is just as quick.
Lamar didnt run at the combine
The Saints had this great QB all through the 1970s. His name was Archie Manning and he finished his Siants career 35-91-3. He made Pro Bowl twice, the two years the Saints had enough help on offense and defense where did not have to play recklessly to have any chance of winning. The best the Saints ever finished was 8-8 and they did that just one time. If you don't have weapons, you can't succeed.
But if you have weapons, it doesn't mean you will succeed. Just ask Nick Mullens, by the time he started for the 49ers, they had weapons and yet he went 5-11 for the 49ers. Mullens was a game manager.
Mullens is a gunslinger. He is just to wreckless. Turns the ball over to much. Brett Favre on steroids lmao Go 49ers!!!
Brocks anticipatory throws are so precisely timed that average receivers will have difficulties to catch.
@@clintondarnell5318As a niner fan never compare Nick Mullens to Brett Farve again. There is a wide gap between a HOF QB that has won the SB and a career backup lol.
@@sharull6074 But that timing can be disrupted. Like the Ravens game. More than likely,it will again. We gotta run the ball,or we stand no chance. Go 49ers!!!
@@oxiclean4972 I wasn’t comparing the two specifically. Come on brah. Lmao Go 49ers!!!
If he hadn't gotten his shoulder rocked last year, you could make a case that this would be his second Superbowl
Chris long knows football...
I love that many people are only changing their opinion of him because he ran. So silly. First of all that isn’t new people just haven’t watched every game. Second, he hasn’t needed to run much because he scrambles, WRs get loose, and he throws it. It shouldn’t matter which method he uses to get yards/points but for some reason people just go crazy for run yards. Fantasy effect I presume
What's all this talk about the Niners going for Kirk Cousins in free agency? If they do, this Jets fan would take Purdy in a HEARTBEAT.
Haha. Yeah you wish. Purdy is a lifelong 49er.
Drawing up some QB runs might be a wrinkle the Niners can bring to the SB.
Purdy may be able to scramble well but we just watched the Chiefs beat Allen and Lamar, 2 of the best running QBs in the league who can also throw well. I don't think Purdy is going to have the same success against a defense that beat those other 2 QBs
Niners vs Kelce Shahee and Mahomes. It's not Brock vs Mahomes
Thank god someone finallybidentified that play as what it was.. a D.p.i... the ricochet was luck on top of FREE PLAY... bc that was 100% d.p.i... u cant hard check from top coverage and chip out a reciever who has inside leverage on a play..
No actually it was opi as only the db had a play on it. They let them play as a lions fan i respect that.
Actually, Vildor crossed Aiyuks path, slowed down and bumped him, and then went to make a play on the ball. If Vilder doesn't impede him, Aiyuk catches the ball in stride.
@@wattsinc. no. U cant hard check and chip from top coverage dude.. that's not "playing the ball"... that pass hadn't broke 10 yards past scrimmage when the db hard checked.... B.a had bottom leverage on the pass, and was chipped out of the play... u CANT do that just so that YOU are the only one with a play on the ball, u have to work for leverage, NOT block a reciever out of the play.. smfh..
@@joeharris4353 they both were it doesn't matter now does it. What happened happened and the fact the refs were mostly a non factor was actually amazing. Despite the holds and penalties i can not deny the lions also benefited from no calls
@@wattsinc. matters as much as any truth matters... especially given the context of the national media trying to cast a false narrative around Purdy, that play in particular of this weekend...
Matters within the context of educating ppl about the actual rules, so they can understand the game and NOT falsely believe something...
And I don't care if it takes all day, if 100 penalties arecommitted, needs to be 100 calls... there should NEVER be an intentional oversite of a rule infraction.. otherwise, why are there even rules..,
AIYUKS “LUCKY” CATCH WOULD HAVE BEEN DPI REGARDLESS THE BALL WAS GOING TO BE PLACED THERE. THE REF PICKED UP THE FLAG BECAUSE BA CAUGHT THE BALL. NOTHING ABOUT THAT PLAY WAS LUCK, THE BALL WAS GOING TO BE SPOT THERE REGARDLESS. ANALYSTS PLEASE ANALYZE ONE TIME
"game recognize game"
If Purdy runs like that, but slides more, he can be an elite QB. That is the element that makes Mahomes and Lamar elite.
Purdy usually slides but in thr NFFCG he had to bring out the inner Steve Young.
In the old days the defense will target his head if he finish the run head first.
So sliding is the key to being elite?
he just meant that if he slides more than he dives he will keep himself from getting hurt more often so therefore can play instead of getting rocked and going on IR. cant believe you couldnt comprehend that@@johnwarner8569
Lamar ain't all that.
Backyard Brock strikes again!
Purdy just needs to learn to slide. Love his ability to avoid sacks and scramble, but please learn to slide. No more concussions or blown tendons.
Just because Purdy isn’t on the same level as Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, or Patrick Mahomes doesn’t mean he still not a top 10 qb in this league.
This is why all teams like to draft mobile QBs. The days of pocket statues are long gone
Chris long be lying- bro hates the niners
All this talk about Purdy this and Purdy that, he's going to get jinxed for the SB
Yeah we need to slow down. Well hype him after the SB win.
@@sharull6074Chiefs are winning
U should see what they've been saying about Mahomes
Lol, Purdy is mediocre.
If winning a Superbowl is mediocre , give me that all day. 🤡
